  1. New Update! (That part in the last video) -Added a graphical mask to the level. Plus background. -Modified sprint a little. -Changed/Added some sprites. (specifically the running sprite) -Updated the Guard AI. They don't do inside the walls anymore. And they're evil now! Expect a new video soon too!
  2. That actually looks pretty cool. Nice job so far.
  3. I waited for this mod for so long only to figure out it doesn't work. The game is telling me my cd key is invalid?
  4. Hey, thanks for all the comments, I'm about to record another video, just to show off that those purple things can be a slight challenge. When the videos done, I'll edit the first post and put it in. I tried out a "sprint" option, it worked better than I thought it would, the running animation isn't started yet though. First post is edited. LAzy- http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-2585840322797972096&hl=en-GB
  5. Yeah, Halo kind of inspired this, but like I said in my first post, its pretty much a spinoff, as Galaxy Quest is to Star Trek, only way different. I'm not sure if you seen the image at the bottom of the first post, it was made in cartooning class, I actually have a whole comic (in the first person perspective) sketched out as thumbnails, it was pretty sweet. And I already have most of a story made up for this game, it actually doesn't suck as much as you'd think it would.. Anyway, maybe I'll try the running animation, if it looks good, maybe I'll add a sprint option. I don't know how well the torso half would be animated (it's a seperate object from the legs), because I have different weapon sprites in there, (2 right now, more planned). But it's definatly possible to have that animated well too, especially if I want this game to end up good. I already have the basic level design of the first level done. I gotta work on the foregrounds and backgrounds, but theres a part at the end I got 2 of those following purple things, it's pretty fun, the final will probably only have one in it. Um, sorry for my long essay thing, I'll take your idea on the running animation, and see if I could put a sprint in, thanks.
  6. 2/10/08: Edit: Here is the updated video. Sorry, Youtube was being a bitch so I had to use Google Video. I know noone here likes me for some reason, probably for trying to put a Tails ai in Sonic Worlds..., but I decided to show you guys a little project I'm doing. Theres a short video of the engine in action. It isn't ready to be released because I actually wanted to get at least one real level plus all the sprite work done. Seems like a spinoff of Halo, but the story is completly different. It's sci-fi, obviosuly. That is only a test level, and none of that will be used in a final level. All work done myself (with the help of certain extensions, phizix, etc.). This is the first time anyone has seen it besides me and a few friends. So be happy I'm hoping to finish this game eventually, because I have the whole story written out (from a while ago), and something I made in art class last year (at the bottom of the post) It has some inspiration from Super Mario Bros in it, you might be able to tell from the video. The cute aliens are basically angry goombas. And you can jump on enemies, after enough times falling on them, they'll die. Anyway, here are some screenshots of the test level: Bad alien dude chasing me. Cute alien trying to kill me. Ha! Shooting..nothing.. Ragdoll in action. Shielding. (the video never got a chance to show the shields, but it's a cool effect when in motion.) Concept art (jpg)
  7. That was actually a pretty good engine.
  8. That amazing, even if it is just a mockup. But if it real, then yeah, it amazing.
  9. okay, nvm again, I guess I can't say anything here without being derepd.
  10. nvm, I was only trying to compliment the extension but certain people think of it as an insult.
  11. Wow you guys are assholes. lol You shouldn't down someone becuase what they're doing seems like shit. We all gotta start somewhere, give the guy a break.
  12. I'd say Halo 3 kicks Tf2's ass, but then, knowing these forums, even it was a joke I'd be flamed.
  13. I think you guys take this too seriously. But I guess I'd be upset if some random noob came along and stole something from me that I worked really hard on.
  14. Does got ring mean something? Or is this post only about your car?
  15. Can't believe I didn't think of that. Thanks.
  16. Alright, I'll upload the current code if I can't figure it out. I know that if I got rid of Tails' collision markers, the problem stops. So something about Tails' collision markers is setting the player's x and y speed to 0. edit:yeha I've been going at this for about an hour. SonicWorlds03RC3.zip
  17. There's a work in progress of Tails following Sonic, no where near perfect. Since I made this video, I made minor tweeks to what was done and made tails less annoying. But I'm still having the problem with the collision. It has to be in sonic worlds' main engine somewhere, I can't find it. I want Tails to go through the player instead of effecting the player to move or get stuck. Can anyone help me with that? Thanks. SOrry if this is in the wrong place. It's based off Sonic RC's tails following sonic tutorial. I got the idea from Sonic 2, if anyone didn't know. Which is coming out on xbla on the 12th
  18. Yeah, I didn't press anything throughout the level.
  19. That's the point. Kinda why I labeled it "level thing"
  20. Sorry, I think this would be the right place for this topic, but I made a level today that plays by itself. Here's a youtube of it I can upload the file if anyone wants, since it plays on it's own, I thought a video would be enough. Oh yeah, it was a pain in the ass because I thought it'd be cool to get the water to slowly rise at the end, but that alters physics, so I had to change the level a bit, and frustrating part was every time I added something or moved it, I had to spawn sonic at the very beginning, I made hte mistake of putting him somewhere in the middle during part of the level development. But I'm loving this engine Got the idea from this.
