Release: Good Tails Follow Engine
xhedgehogx replied to Streak Thunderstorm's topic in Sonic Worlds Discussion
That's true. If I was smart enough to know how to put ledge grabbing on, which probably isn't hard at all, I can throw in a custom sprite and make a Assassin's Creed or Mirrors Edge 2d remake. --Sorry I just unintentionally bumped this thread up. My bad. -
Is this stuff possible? I want to do something like this: http://www.bornegames.com/?page_id=369 And I thought a good starting engine with that would be Sonic Worlds. Maybe the barebone version Dazmien(typo?) posted a while back, because most of the gimmicks are unneeded for what I want to do. Thanks. I mean perhaps it'd be easier to just build it from scratch, because of the complexity of Sonic Worlds to an average user.

Tails Adventure 2 Topic *Minor update*
xhedgehogx replied to Serephim's topic in Game Project Showcase
That looks awesome. Kinda reminds me of something I once started a long time ago, I wanted to make pretty much the same thing you have there, only with Sonic and faster paced like in those flash movies where they're all fighting fast and stuff. Good job! -
Those backgrounds are awesome. They really give it, just that feel. Good job

The Genesis Sonic Engine! (GM6.1 Registered)
xhedgehogx replied to Chaos Rush's topic in Game Project Showcase
He means GM6 games don't run on Vista, without that converter thing. -
I have a TV Tuner, I'd just have to hook up the wii through a vcr or something. But that is way too much work. Here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815276002 And just hook the wii up to a vcr input. And output it to the tuner. Open up recording software (usually comes with the card) and there ya go. edit: nvm you said you don't have brawl. I might be able to help out if I ever get any free time.

"Lost" a Sci-fi shooter (NEW Demo released, page 3)
xhedgehogx replied to xhedgehogx's topic in Game Project Showcase
I scrapped the splitscreen because it was eating up all of my global values. Anyway, here is an update. I have a new video, and included are: New running animation. Grenade Launcher footage Flamethrower footage.. (The flame is a placeholder) Check it out here. -
I like the tiles. I'd give you a positive suggestion on what you can do with it, but I'm afraid I'll get a bunch of neg rep from it from a certain someone, not naming any names, not even Spike's name.

"Lost" a Sci-fi shooter (NEW Demo released, page 3)
xhedgehogx replied to xhedgehogx's topic in Game Project Showcase
I have a splitscreen multiplayer in the works (most likely will be in the next demo, unless I scrap it), I'm hoping to get an online multiplayer feature too. -
Looks like a decent engine so far. I like the Tails flying Sonic thing. Good job with it so far.

"Lost" a Sci-fi shooter (NEW Demo released, page 3)
xhedgehogx replied to xhedgehogx's topic in Game Project Showcase
Yeah, at least by the next demo, I'll have completly redone the legs. I agree that the animation on them is terrible. There's not much I can do about that upper half of the sprite though(giving weapons recoil, etc. I could still try something though) -
"Lost" a Sci-fi shooter (NEW Demo released, page 3)
xhedgehogx replied to xhedgehogx's topic in Game Project Showcase
There are two levels in this demo (well one and a half, the 2nd isn't exactly completly complete), and five different weapons. Everything you need to know is in the readme. There are also some Logs which basically is the story, as an alternative to cutscenes in between levels. These logs are written by the character you play as, of her condition. For those who don't read readmes, Controls: Arrow Keys=Move Shift=Jump Ctrl=Fire Z(hold)=Sprint 1=M16 2=Magnum 3=Ethorean 4=Portal Gun* 5=Grenade Launcher* *Can only be accessed with the All Weapons option in Options. Anyway, I'm not going to bore you guys with stuff, so here are some screenshots and the demo: Lost Demo 2.zip -
"Lost" a Sci-fi shooter (NEW Demo released, page 3)
xhedgehogx replied to xhedgehogx's topic in Game Project Showcase
Update! -Fixed Enemy collision so you cannot walk through them anymore. -Changed the background color -Made the Guards so they cannot kill you in one hit, but instead drain the shields. -Enemies color change when they are hurt. -Added Gimmicks. One is like a turbo shaft that brings you inot the air. The other is just a little ground moving thing. I tried getting recoil animations, but the way I have things now, it's pretty complicated so thats not done yet. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5135279917515443824&hl=en Video -
"Lost" a Sci-fi shooter (NEW Demo released, page 3)
xhedgehogx replied to xhedgehogx's topic in Game Project Showcase
Thanks guys. hRook: Yeah, I still need to do a lot with animation. There's some hurt animation in the small things and the flying things, nothing in the guard yet though. Maybe I'll go retro and have their colors change when they're hurt. Dragon: Their purpose is to kill you in one hit, but I was debating whether I should weaken them a little so your shields will go down (at a fast rate), so the player will at least have a chance to escape. The background, I was debating blue/grey or yellow/orange. I was going to use the blue/grey in a later level, but I can easily just throw the background in photoshop and check out the different color possibilities in there to see if anything looks better. Thanks again for the critique, it helps out a lot. -

I've finally been able to finish the demo! I was expecting an early next week release, but I'm going to be too busy this weekend and most of next week to do anything else to the game. The sounds aren't exactly final (they might be if you guys like the "chip effects," I know I do. There is no music yet. Here's a quick side note. Here's a bit of "Lost" 101 before you guys start playing the demo. Most of this is taken from my Ingame introduction, but that can just be skipped easily, so I wanted to post it with the demo. Story: The Reatta, a starship built in a drydock orbiting Earth has recieved a command to investigate a destructive platform which has a course set for Earth. This platform is codenamed "Lost" according to experts, they say these could be extra terrestrials that could not find their way home, found themselves in our quadrant of space. But these expert ideas were soon to be discovered as wrong as "Lost" was found at the destruction point of a planet full of life.. Controls: Left/Right Keys--Move Shift------------Jump Ctrl-------------Fire Current Weapon Z----------------Sprint `----------------Equip Nothing (really no point at all to this) 1----------------Equip Rifle 2----------------Equip Pistol 3----------------Equip Ethorean 4----------------Equip ?????? ??? (It's a secret) Weapons/Powerups: Automatic Rifle: Just another ordinary rifle used for killing things. Pistol: Kills things faster than the automatic rifle. Ethorean: Alien equivalent to the automatic rifle. Green Battery: Fully restores your shielding. Blue Battery: Makes you invisible to the eyes of the enemy. Enemies: Guard Elite: Tall, fast, and easily unavoidable. Best option for killing one of these aliens is to shoot it down with your pistol. Don't get to close to one of these. Repair Crew: These little guys are pretty much oblivious of your presence on their ship. They are scrambling to fix the damage your ship, the "Reatta" has done to it. But they will become angry if you try to 'pet' it. SecuriGuard: They usually divide themselves into squads of four, and they're almost unstoppable. They don't want you on thier ship, and you don't want them in your vicinity. Screenshots: I'm hoping to get some critique from this, to help improve the game. Thanks. Lost Demo.zip -
I'm loving the style. All the characters look high. Nice job!
-
Yeah, I might, it's supposed to be some debree (typo?) from an alien ship, you can check out the thread I have on it, to see it. Maybe I can make something in the foreground to overlap the tiles, thus make it look a little better. New windows?

Sonic and the global events (new demo)
xhedgehogx replied to knucis's topic in Game Project Showcase
You guys are mean. Anyway, I had an idea like this a long time ago, canceled after about a day, and it was when New Orleans was flooded. I had a Sonic level where he is in New Orleans and has to get to the end of the level before the city was entirely under water. The reason I stopped it was because I thought maybe it might've been making fun of people stuck in the situation, and that's the last thing I wanted to do. -
Wow, Ironrind, the look of that game looks awesome!

New Video! -
I don't know if this is illegal to talk about, it's really nothing, but you can download the music somewhere, theres like 314 songs or something. (about 2gb). It is worth listening to, the soundtrack is awesome, this guy at a local Gamestop had it going on a Zune today. Dunno if this was mentioned already..There are a lot of pages in this thread.
