  1. One question, Lake... Otherwise, it's pretty good so far. The whole experience feels less like a Metroidvania and more like playing a Mario game where the individual levels are fairly linear and focus on one gimmick. Not that that's a bad thing.
  2. You magnificent bastard, you. You had to release this in the middle of my finals! Oh well. Off to the games I go!
  3. I had no idea that Storm Station was intended to be a weather control device. It's really obvious in retrospect but at the time it felt like an illuminating moment. Anyways, I've played through this game twice already and I love it for the most part. I love the general aesthetics for the zones and the gimmicks that are introduced for most of them. Technology Tree stands out as my favorite zone aesthetically, but Sugar Splash just barely edges ahead of it in terms of how fun it is to play. The only mediocre parts of the game (there weren't any blantantly bad parts, with the exception of the PPZ boss glitch) for me are the bosses and the unlockable zones. Especially compared to S:BtS, the bosses feel a little unsophisticated and easy, although when you compare this to the bosses that were present in the Genesis Sonic games, they're all above average. Also, I'm kind of disappointed that none of the bosses incorporated level gimmicks. There are so many cool ideas in Sugar Splash, for example, that I'm a little surprised a fun boss that could meet your high standards couldn't be included in the game. I think this was due to over-hype rather than anything else, but I was expecting the Special Acts to be radically different than the regular levels, rather than the regular levels with different palettes and harder object placement. Granted though, RRZ and PPZ's Special Acts did mix things up a bit and for that I appreciate it. Overall, this game has been a hell of a time. Heh, I'm probably gonna play it again tonight, because I haven't really got into the Special Stages too much yet.
  4. It's so tempting not to spoil everything for myself by seeing what others are saying about this game, as it rapidly downloads onto my computer... I guess the only thing I wanted to say now that it is released is that this is the first time that I've looked forward to a fan-game with the same enthusiasm as I do official game releases. Thank you Lake, Falk, and everybody else involved!
  5. Apology accepted. I'm a huge fan of Spinball's off-beat visual and musical aesthetics, so saving this track from the scrap heap is great news for me.
  6. What!? I thought I was being hipster enough by merely playing Minecraft. Guys! I need to play this game! Now! In all seriousness, I'm really glad to have a sense of what's left to be done. And knowing the progress we've had since the end of April, I'll bet that these tracks can get done pretty quickly. Thanks for the update!
  7. Question: Is this soundtrack going to be completely original, or are there a few songs that were not originally created for this project, like the Tropical Resort boss music for the Lost Levels boss act in SBtS?
  8. AHH!! IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER NOW! (New intro music, "A Matter of Pomp" by Falk)
  9. Gosh, as the soundtrack rushes to completion, the new tunes just keep on sounding better and better. What a class act!
  10. Hey! I've followed this game's development since it started following Before the Sequel, and everything that I've seen so far is impressive and it all seems to be coming together now. I do have one question: Is Breakfast Time going to be included in the game in some capacity? I like the new tracks for Sugar Splash Zone, but I absolutely love Breakfast Time. Thanks!
