  1. Hm... I've thought of this before... I would imagine that there 2 extra values... Points to add, and what the score will be when they are done adding. So Enemy is killed. Add 2,000 to points to add, set finished score to score plus points to add only 1 time. (this is so if you kill an enemy while points are still adding, the game will continue to add more points) Points to add is greater than 0, every 15th of a second, (or come up with a formula to make it 2 seconds every time) add 1 to score, and subtract from points to add 1. Score = finished score & points to add = 0, set finished score to 0 again. Something like that would probably work. If you would like me to be more detailed and come up with some pseudo code, don't be afraid to ask.
  2. 5 years old. German. Me like potato. Me like badger. Bam. Potatobadger.
  3. Ha! I love it, DW. I would go with that one. here is how i would approach it: (this is probably a bit advanced) create a new Character Attribute section that's activated when quicksand of others = 1, and change the physics to be all wonky, with weird acceleration, jump strength, rolling, etc, and constantly subtract yspeed. Make sure to set the max yspeed really low though. You can do the same thing to make ice physics.
  4. I like them! I'll see what others submit as well, if at all.
  5. Hello all! As you know, I'm Mr. Potatobadger. I need a few sprites for a VERY important job. Just know it's big, it's important, and credit will be given! I need one, or more than one person to tackle a few animations in the style of THIS Shadow Sprite sheet! These are the animations needed: Spring! Looking up! Spinning! Hanging! Swinging! This Single Frame! This one too! These MUST be of Shadow the Hedgehog IN THIS STYLE! If you would like to claim an animation, please make a post with the name of the animation you would like to do. I will check off the list on this post, and you may edit the sprite into your claim post whenever you like. ( Keep sprites 1:1 please) I would prefer it as soon as you conveniently can. If you want to do all of them, you can. If someone has already claimed an animation, DO NOT be afraid to give it a shot anyway. The more sprites, the more choices we have for the best one, and the more community involvement we get. And you get to practice your skills! If you feel you are not that great at spriting, give it a shot anyway; practice makes perfect. And who knows, you may be better than you though. Have a good time, and thanks a bunch in advance. -Poe
  6. Typically, I would ask this in a status, but I figured this was appropriate to make a thread because it's a bit lengthy, and someone could find this useful in the future. Anyways. My laptop is not in too good of shape. It's got screen tearing, it's coming apart at the hinges, it's got dents, and more. I need to send it away. However, since my laptop is my main computer, I need MMF2 on my mediocre desktop PC while my laptop is gone so I can continue to work. As you can see from the upcoming screenshot, it's OK to have MMF2 on multiple PC's. Ignore the thing that says rectangular snip, my screenshot software messed up. So... All I need is the installer... I have registry code, but not the installer. I can't find the installer anywhere on my pc, I did a full search. I also couldn't find it on the internet. So... Any ideas or something?
  7. 1. I beg to differ. I believe to make a sequel right, the gameplay is the core. It's obviously not the most important, but it's the foundation. Without a strong foundation, the final product will fall short to what preceded it. I'm going for authenticity. I want this game to feel so freaking legit you could actually convince some one sega made this a long time ago. I'm talking down to the wire, like obscure cheat codes for level select, a full fledged secret debug mode, and everything. Looking at how accurate worlds is compared to the christian whitehead engine, or even the originals. Worlds actually isn't that accurate. I'm working on that. Spoilers, I know, but sonic worlds at sage is all about acuracy. (thats not all there is to it though, wink wink) Worlds is currently on par with the whitehead engine. By time I'm done with it, it will be more accurate. Anyways The game is obviously, in the end, about the levels, the level designs, etc. I know that. But in my opinion, the core of the game needs to be as good as it can, especially for what I'm undertaking. Something like overture or edge of darkness where they're doing lots of things different is OK. It doesn't have to be perfect, it's a fangame, they're non canonical, and they're going for their own thing. However, I'm going for 100% authenticity, and that requires no one be able to make any sort of claim saying it goes against the originals. Some examples of things I wouldn't mind changing if this wasn't supposed to be hyper authentic: Changed HUD Ring Art Music Sounds Monitors Springs However, I need to keep those like the original, for the sake of authenticity. Overture demonstrates what I mean well; Fantastic new HUD, Shiny new rings, and more. In a game like this, where I could theoretically call the game sonic 4 and no one would get mad, I need to keep things like the way they were consistently throughout the original 4 games.
  8. The shadow looks to be from gardows shadow sheet: http://www.themysticalforestzone.com/sprites_2008_AttoSama/update01/Shadow_Gen_Gardow.png http://www.themysticalforestzone.com/sprites_2008_AttoSama/update01/shadow_v_two_Gardow.png The sheets that started modgen.
  9. For anyone who just feels like plopping an entire jalapeno into your mouth: have milk/soymilk and sour cream on hand. Stuff burns man.

I ate a Ghost pepper once. After 1 and a half jugs of milk and ice cream I still had a burn on my tongue.

Update: Turns out I accidentally ate a Serrano pepper, which is 5 times hotter than a jalapeno. They were almost identical. I ate the other jalapeno and it was good. (just to clarify, our neighbor gave us a bunch of peppers because we let him have some of our alcohol for a party of his. Weird, I know.)

probably not a weird as you may think (cooling beers in a swimming pool...)

  10. I honestly don't know. Look through my phone and try to figure it out, and you will leave confused. The only thing I don't like is rap, hiphop, and american country... From orchestra to jazz to electronic, I like it all, and I have it all.
  11. @Serephim Good points all around. I don't think I have the mentality that produced the original sonic 4... At least the original 3 will actually be in the game playable at any time, the physics are correct, and the levels aren't ripoffs of sonic 1/2 levels. I also wouldn't call it moving backward, i would call it not advancing, because to move backwards would be removing characters i suppose. Edit: I need to clarify. While I most likely won't call this game Sonic 4, it want this game to be "right" enough where it very well could be. There are many "Sonic 4" fangames out there, like Time Twisted, but if you left it as "Sonic 4" it just wouldn't... Work... I don't know the word to choose, but I think you get the idea. Yes, it takes place after sonic 3 and follows up, but it's not Sonic 4.
  12. Back on topic here If I were to make a choice of the characters in the game, I would make it strictly sonic, tails, and knuckles. But I would rather decide by what the majority of people want. If most people want a new character, they can have a new character. If they want amy, they can have amy.
  13. LOL Dude. Zigzax cowrote the game dude. He's the tile guy. We're best buds.
  14. 1. I agree 2. Sonic is 25% done. Knuckles is 10% done. It's doable. 3. Yea, the fact that he is an original character is weird for people, including myself. 4. No. This is still a survey as ZigZax demonstrated. I still highly recommend people "cast their vote". That post's purpose was to finalize how I feel the game should go. Most of the screenshots elaborated on the numbered questions. In short, this will not become the thread for the game, its still a survey. @ZigZax Dude, this is literally the only pic of yours that I've used of yours, and I've used it like 2 times maybe. It's not a big deal, you had no plans to finish it. It's concept art, it's not meant to look pretty.
  15. Is there a good genesis emulator that actually runs at 60 FPS the whole time? I mean, kega is always 30 and Gens wavers from 30 to like 58.

  16. @pulse Not a whole lot, it looks like. http://www.sonicdatabase.com/SACAchara/SONIC.jpg Looks like yours has quite a few polys especially in the hands and head compared to the adventure model.
  17. I appreciate the feedback everyone! In case you couldn't guess, I plan on "re-doing" sonic 4. I dunno what I'm gonna call it, but in the end it will probably be called sonic 4. Expect to see it not this coming, but next sage as "Sonic Unnamed." Yes, literally sonic unnamed. It's kind of catchy IMO. I've pretty much decided what I'm going to do now, lets go over it: Alright. As for a new character, Zigzax came up with pin the porcupine a few months ago. I came up with his ability, and programmed him into my personal experimental copy of worlds. He can roll indefinitely, and roll up walls VERY easily. If you are jumping up and you press the jump button, you jump down. (for gaining speed when rolling) If you are falling from a jump and press the jump button, you jump up. (for gaps, which will give way to alternate paths, along with rolling.) When he jumps, his scarve trails behind him like tails' tails. This is him: If sonic and co were to get a sprite makover, this would be the style if not sonic 3: The story is done. It's super simple, about as "complicated" as S3K's. To sum it up, Super-beat-up Death egg lands on an island, eggman parks base on a volcano there and does evil things, like deforest stuff I dunno. It's up to sonic to stop the evil things I guess. I also have the levels planned out, they're all pretty neat. The first level's foreground is based off of this background: It's supposed to be a rocky shore type level, but not beachy. It obviously isn't finished, but I'm working on a map for the island: Yup. So the biggest thing is decided if this new character should be included to keep with the "tradition," or if to add a character like amy, or to keep it with the classic trio. I'm afraid to do new character/amy because of people getting all wound up or whatever. Classic trio is the safest. I personally don't mind what the outcome is, I believe it's up to the people. Pin, yes or no?
  18. Anyone know how to convert a .bin file to a .pak file?

    1. GSF

      GSF

What is your .bin file? A Genesis ROM? A crapload of programs use .bin as extensions.

      True. Yea, a Genesis ROM.
