  1. @Serephim Your logic is off for like the first time ever I would definitely not call smash a lazily made game.
  2. Isn't necessarily a musical similarity, but close enough. I just discovered the techno voice in the beginning is most likely SAM from the Commodore 64. Also, does anyone else know what the other samples are from? Especially the one where it sounds like the guy is saying "lay in the wax, spin in the center"
  3. I'm doing something Constructive really fast.

are you making a sonic engine using construct

  4. Wow, I've played the demo for like 3 hours now. I play with my CPU's at level 9, because that's as high as it will go, and it's about as good as I am. Like, I always pick a character, then i make the CPU random. Wtf, i have gotten pikachu consistently. I have literally gotten only pikachu as my random CPU opponent. I've counted a total number of 47 level 9 pikachus fought and defeated. Anyone else getting pikachu, and only pikachu when fighting?? Also, villager is OP. That recovery move though, that thing can get out of anything and kill yourself on the top part of the screen, if the game let you.
  5. While I did really like megaman, I agree, he was quite underwhelming. Didn't feel quite as much like megaman as i'd hoped.
  6. You forgot one Ok, I wasn't going to correct you the first time, but since you came back and had more, it looks like I'll have to shine light on the matter... First off, all of the sonic game boy advance games are canonically in line with each other, except for sonic genesis, of course. This means the order goes as follows: Sonic Advance Sonic Advance 2 Sonic Battle Sonic Advance 3 Sonic advance 1-3 (including battle) don't have really any story consistencies, EXCEPT for Battle, and Advance 3, which are direct tie-ins. Sonic battle took place before sonic advance 3. Calling the musicians lazy for making the music similar to a direct sequel is not a bright idea. Do you really think the musicians were like, "Aww man, we gotta make another track?? Uhh, lets just remix this one, it's close enough." No, that would be stupid. Nonagression is the final showdown with Gemeral, who is built off of the remains of Emerl, who is essentially an upgrade of Phi. I think it would be pretty stupid to not use (G)emerl's theme for the closing boss of the entire advanced series, especially since Gemeral, Emeral, and Phi are essentially the same robot, and share the same theme. That's not laziness, that's keeping up with the continuity. As for the other things, the same thing pretty much applies. Toy kingdom sounds like toy kingdom because they use similar instrumentation, and use similar musical patterns to sound childish. Pretty much all music intended to sound childish sounds similar to itself. Amy's room sounds a lot more like, I dunno... Every other song in the game? There's a small musical motif in the game that is in like every song. Just listen to twinkle snow there, that's the best example. THIS ISN'T BEING LAZY EITHER. That's keeping with the theme of the game. It's like how a lot of the songs it Sonic ATS have the Horizon Heights theme snuck in, it's the game's Motif. Is that being lazy? Hell no! I'll have you know, working a musical motif into different genres of music is really hard. It's most definitely NOT lazy. Holy Summit & Tikal's theme. Do I really have to say something for this one?... Literally every person in the universe who has played through sonic battle and sonic adventure know exactly why the songs sounds the same. (plus the theme is awesome) Tails Lab and Route 99? This one is more understandable, but essentially the same idea. Don't even get me started on the green hill zone thing... Look man, this stuff is all really self explanatory. It's not being lazy, it's keeping with the continuity of themes. Most of these songs are themes, anyway. Why would you make a new theme for something that already has one for every game? I could go on forever about this. Hopefully you get the idea.
  7. Anyone know how to control 2 PC Windows at once?

If I recall correctly Gens G/S works with joysticks when out of focus.

    3. GSF

      GSF

Oh, that's pretty clever. I know MMF supports and option that reads input when unfocused.

And yes, I remember unfocused response with Gens.

For one, this engine is in Construct Classic, not MMF2. (not sure if CC has the option or not) For two, I couldn't get G/S to run on my computer. None of my other copies of Gens have the feature, which is unfortunate.

  8. Serephim, you are exactly right. They are run by old people. (also nintendo itself is like way over 100 years old, lol) They need new leadership. Iwata is too old. They need someone young, who knows what they're are doing. Just look at that Phil Spencer guy. He's young, and he's doing a hell of a job doing whatever he can to make the Xbox One (which is a peice of garbage at this point IMO) better.
  9. Eyyy I went back to my old profile pic.

  11. Glad to see this thread is popular again! @Nemox You should show us! Link some youtube videos and give us times.
  12. The logic Rawr had is the logic I had. I've never even touched 3D, so I wouldn't know, lol.
  13. For some reason, I always thought a bigger model would be more taxing that lots of smaller ones. Interesting, I never thought it/knew it worked like that.
  14. I agree 100% The only issue with inaccuracies most of the time is if you're recreating an official game.
  15. You would be surprised how ridiculously inaccurate most sonic engines are. The current version of worlds is not very accurate. Even the Taxman Engine has some pretty glaring inaccuracies. For example, many animation speeds, and the spindash sound effect.
  16. Five Nights at Freddy's was developed in MMF2/CF2.5!

    1. Riseodvi

      Riseodvi

      Yeah, all Pre-Rendered with a 3D wrap-around.

    2. Betaman

      Betaman

Imagine a game like that on the Sega CD or the 3DO.

  17. For me, personally, It's a tie between Lava Reef and Mystic Cave. I guess I just really like cave levels. Lava Reef and Mystic Cave both have awwwesome songs, and the level design for them is both great. I also really like Hidden Palace from the sonic 2 remake, but I dunno if that counts.
  18. Hm. Remember the game boy color? This is like the same exact thing.
  19. Lake himself said that the dash was inspired by megaman X.
  20. I just made an entire walking animation for a character and then MMF2 crashed ;-;

MMF2 wouldn't save the changed to the animation editor, then it crashed. Even if MMF2 didn't crash, I would have lost the sprites anyways. I'm stressed... Ugh...

Oh, and it wasn't the whole thing, it was 7 of 8 frames.

    4. Light The Hedgehog

      Light The Hedgehog

The feels. Losing sprites made me give up spriting as a whole. Had a whole ****ing sheet of poses and actions and it actually looked good, lost forever... But yoo gut dis Potatobadger!

  21. @ Serephim Of course! I didn't agree with his opinions. His opinions aren't wrong either (because they are opinions), I just presented how I felt in a funny review type fashion to convey how I felt. All I was doing was sharing my opinion. No harm there. @Lake Oh neato, I'm downloading it now.
  22. Technically, there were 2 models of the DS before the DSi.
  23. The very first image on the sheet is the Idle frame. Where he gets impatient after a while. Also, I was hoping for a more traditional looking animation, so please feel free to make one. I appreciate it
