  1. You mean like how Tweaker just did that based on the first indication that something was wrong?
  2. Usually this kind of thing happens when there was no indication that anything was wrong. If this were a friend who I was talking with in real life who seemed awkward in their comments, then would be a reasonable way to ask if there was something wrong. However, in this form of communication, there are several dozen ways to establish communication. Heck, could even go as far as to post a topic on the main Retro forum. The Retro staff are not hard to get a hold of. They don't hold a grudge or anything. Heck, why not try to talk about the situation right now?
  3. Chalk me up as one of the ones who joined in 2000. Says I joined the 17th of May, thats three days away from my birthday. http://bartman3010.u.yuku.com/ Although I dont really visit here regularly anymore, I'm still 'around' more or less. Theres a few people here that I certainly remember. Though theres also quite a few that I dont.
  4. Even though theres still no PS2 support of any kind, $300 is nice, and the game library is looking pretty nice. I'm up for buying some of the PS1 games available for download, not to mention some of the downloadable games look pretty good.
  5. Doom sounds pretty good, although I personally feel that two weapons should be taken out; the Super Shotgun and the BFG. Plus, keep the rules of Doom into play; no jump commands, no mouse look. Plus its very easy to acquire a copy of Doom or Doom II these days. Or maybe Quake III Arena?
  6. I just want to say flat out. I'm very interested in making a game in this engine. I love the idea of it being cross platform, and its somewhat primitive behavior gives it a nice charm when it comes to developing a game. But I dont know anything about scripting. On top of that, I do feel that the interface for the editing tools for E02 is a little too complicated to easily start a game from scratch, let alone make a new level for Project Mettrix or Triple Threat. I'm sure if I study the stuff that you've written on the engine, I could make stuff out of it easily. Overall, I just wish things were easier to work with. Maybe I'm just dumb. Maybe I'm just lazy. I dont mean make it easy to work with like in Click and Create or something. But some parts could be a little bit easier to work with. Such as drop down menus that I can click on with my mouse instead of hitting keys on the keyboard that have VERY specific functions.
  7. You guys really are a lot of fun to be with. Dont be strangers, now.
  8. Thumbs down on having to reset my machine just to play 10 mini games. But I think the art made for the game is really nice. Sorry, havent really played it. But its also because I dont have anyone to play with.
  9. I found a glitch for Project Mettrix. I'm able to tuck into a spin whilst in the air. I dont know if its intentional, as it does help from falling and not being able to defend myself.
  10. I had that problem. When I touched Metal Sonic, I would disappear, but reappear soon after. Anyway, pretty much all of the complaints I had were already stated. Well done. Can I expect to have to Time Travel to make progress through certain areas? Such as parts of the level blocked off unless you go backward in time.
  11. I know its too much to ask, but would it be possible to have at least 4 player splitscreen possible? Speaking of multiplayer, how is that going to work on the Wii and PSP? So far competition does not work at all when I tried getting it to work on PSP. Plus, what about resolution settings? Not just on the PSP, but what about widescreen options? Or maybe settings for 16:9 or 16:10 screens?
  12. Great work on E02 as usual, Stealth. I've been playing with the editors a little bit. Its a bit complicated, but I havent seen what all the tools can do. My question (Without looking deep into the editing tools) is that is it possible to make more than just platformers with this? Say if I want to make a top down type of game, I'm sure its entirely possible. Right? Although obviously I would have to provide the skills necessary to pull off the math required for some of the more complicated type of player movements which is...not going to be my strong suit. But I am curious.
  13. You gotta find some way to make the game run faster. It seems that every Game Maker program I run on my machine runs incredibly slow. Not to mention when I saw how much memory the game was taking up (110,000 megs of memory?!)
  14. I've finally decided that I want to work on a sequel to my last game. Of course I could probably expand on the original, but its probably way too much work than whats really needed, so I come to present a sequel to overcome some of those obstacles, and then some. Unlike the last one, Anime Rally 2 is going to feature dozens, possibly hundreds of characters with personalized vehicles, superbly designed locals with unique touches, more multiplayer features including game modes and of course, the item system. First off, the item system is going to be completely different from Mario Kart. I'm taking the idea of an energy bar that I did for the first game and expanding upon it. It'll be sort of an action figure theme, where each character comes with three accessories, or attacks. Depending on how high the meter is built up (Out of 100) is the type of item the player can use. Some of the items will work the same and are only different cosmetically. There are three times, normal, special, and super. Normal attacks are those that are regular projectile items or landmine moves. Special attacks are like normal moves but with an even bigger range, such as say a rocket launcher move that dishes out splash damage. (Splash damage is hazards that expand from the item itself) Finally are special attack moves that dont work like regular projectile moves, such as a shockwave or a grapple hook item that grabs others and tosses them around. Building up the energy bar is so far only planned for when the player passes through a gate in the level. As a player passes through one, it changes color and gives more points to the next player. There will be a delay before a player can run into a gate to avoid cheating. So what do I need? Well, I'm pretty much up for working on the code, theres no need for help on that. What I really need are sprite artists, its a somewhat easy task to do. For those who played Anime Rally 1, all the characters faced 8 directions, and I'm going to use the same kind of style for this game. How the characters will be designed are probably going to be discussed later. However if you've got a favorite character you want done, be the first to claim and he or she is all yours. Keep in mind characters are going to be limited to main or side characters, background characters arent really going to be neccesary for this one. As for level design ideas, I'm only going to limit public opinion on that, because everyone can say they'd like X to appear. However if you really want them to show up it'd be nice to have some outside help. Anyway, think of a particular place you'd like to see in the game, what kind of obstacles should be in the tracks, and if you want, sketch a rough map of where things are and I'll take a look at it. The most important thing to do is match the style of the game. It'll look pretty similar to the first game, but I'm going to aim for some new gimmicks and techniques for better graphics. http://imgcash3.imageshack.us/Himg249/scaled.php?server=249&filename=mikurual9.gif&xsize=640&ysize=480 http://imgcash3.imageshack.us/Himg249/scaled.php?server=249&filename=doniq9.gif&xsize=640&ysize=480 http://imgcash1.imageshack.us/Himg408/scaled.php?server=408&filename=osakafonzkartjh0.gif&xsize=640&ysize=480 Please keep in mind I JUST got started on this, and although some characters have been started on, many are unfinished, mostly due to the idea that this project might not recieve liftoff depending on how well this topic does...
  15. Hurst said he was a part of Tiny Toons, right? I...well I dont know what to ask him but I'd like to see which episodes he did.
