Hello! To start things off, if you're not sure what "SHMUP" means, it's an abbreviation for "Shoot 'Em Up." You can read all about SHMUPs @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoot_'em_up
Anyway, this topic is for people who'd like to see certain aspects or fun sequences in the Sonic SHMUP. If you're a fan of SHMUPs and would like to see features from or homages to other SHMUPs put into this game, throw it into this topic and let us know!

With no discussion coming from SFGHQ/SAGE staff on the status of SAGE, nor contact being placed to any involved members of Retro staff involving SAGE planning, I find collaborating to be an impossible endeavor to happen any time in the future between SFGHQ/Retro if things are handled in a manner in which no effort in exchange of information takes place from SFGHQ staff.
We've been left in the dark, and given nothing to go on. Personally, I'm sick of seeing Retro and it's staff being stepped on by SFGHQ because nobody could think far enough ahead to try to type text to anyone involved at Retro. It's funny how Tristan Bresnan knows more about our "collaboration" than we did!

Thanks, and me too... the Tornado was originally Sonic's plane, and he let Tails just borrow it. Basically Sonic gets free mechanic work if he lets Tails fly. The plane in the SHMUP isn't a different version of the Tornado, but rather a new, experimental mini plane that Tails built.

I've been doing some work to Sonic SHMUP, getting more progress done in the last month. Bartman3010 is doing the coding for the game now, and I'm working on visuals/audio/whatever else needs to be done.

Not bad, but I sure hope you plan on doing more custom graphics, rehashes or major edits. Recycling graphics gets boring easily, as well as mixing Genesis with Advance.

While your game looks like it's coming along well, I've never really thought it was a good idea to follow up to a sequel of the official games unless you have a well-established team of artists and level designers willing to give time and effort towards your game. It's just a lot to live up to to do so, but I wish you the best.

One way I get creative about things is bouncing ideas that I come up with on the fly off of friends/fellow fan gamers. I find that just brainstorming in general is the best way.

Wow, that is quite an interesting concept. I the black and white graphics and the minimalism, as well as the way you move/shoot! Damn hard though, son. Damn hard. Awesome job so far!

I recommend linking to the video, and not your Youtube user page. As for the game, it looks like you have a decent fighting game going on there, but it's hard to tell what is happening since the video is only going 3-5 frames per second.
On another note, I'm not too sure if showing glitches of your own game is a good idea... Let testers figure that stuff out, then fix it! Don't make a video about them, haha.

What a cute game! I love it's simplicity and it's relaxing atmosphere. You should give it some original graphics, and you could make a bit-o-money off this stuff!
