  1. I'm giving heavy consideration towards redoing the picture with a stronger palette. Maybe try a NGPC-esque style.
  2. I'm just glad its not another identikit Worlds-engine game.
  3. 1) Checked Properties on the main program, under Window menu. Clicked "Resize display to fit window size". Main frame = 320 * 288. A frame size of 320*288 displays normally. Shrunk window of selected frame to 160*144 as an example. Result - picture zooms in 2* fine. 2) Want to make a scrolling level. Frame resized to 660*144 as an example. Distorted graphics (main window still 320*288). Is there a way to 'zoom' in (keeping the 160*144 area) in a larger frame to allow scrolling at 2* magnification? Horizontally scrolling display (width=320+) = 320*144. Vertically distorted. EDIT: I think I've got it. It's the virtual width and height I have to toggle for the level, and the 'actual' w/h for the window itself. Could be wrong, though. Have to check.
  4. Let's say I have a frame size of, for example, 320*228. Is there an object or series of code that I can use that will let me zoom in 2* on an area when the game is running (e.g from 0,0 to 160,112)? Perspective and Lens are useless as they warp the area zoomed in on.
  5. Sonic One Shot. Sonic Unleashed Advance. Sonic Time Attacked. Sonic Epoch. Amy: One Girl Army. NeoSonic. Thirdscape. Super Ball Ultima. King of Mobius. Fast Revelation. Robo Blast. Sonic Nebulous. Amy Bubble Burst. Sonic Stash. Sonic MADventure. Sonic Puzzle Attack. Edit: any chance we can have these posts cropped and moved into a new thread?
  6. If we're going with personal suggestions? Try Arcadepix as well.
  7. You don't need to hotlink all those images. Waste of bandwidth, and it stretches the page. If you have any screenshots of the game you're making, you can upload them to Imageshack and link them in this thread. If you have anything else to say on the game, then that goes in the thread as well. People prefer it if you start a topic off with a lot to show about your game, not just other people's spritesheets. Otherwise, there's no real point in having this thread.
  8. I think I can count the number of atypical Sonic fangames on one hand. And most of them would probably be pre-static, let alone before and after the Worlds source was released. What do you suppose the incentive is for people to just slap ripped tiles onto an engine and call it a day - minimum effort, maximum brownnosing? Come to think of it, what's the incentive for people to break from the norm? Are they scared that people will shit on them because their idea wouldn't make for a 'proper' fangame?

  10. I haven't seen a Hydrocity level in fangames since that Sonic 360 demo. Can't wait.
  11. If this is anything like the 'extra special concoction' you made at Sonic Burger, I think I'll pass.

  13. I'm probably the only person who thinks the Jappo soundtrack is terrible.

  15. They're based on a specific group of internet nerds' alter-egos. Its really just one gigantic ego-wankfest modelled on the Megaman engine.
  16. For some reason I've felt a stinging need to dive back into spritework. It's a WIP. HIHO, 8-BIT
  17. Just played through the demo. Managed to get through both levels without too much trouble. Music's rather nice, reminiscent of Sonic CD. Level design, I think, is vastly improved over SCD, and much more 'professional' than most fangames. Credit to the engine developers, the game is surprisingly solid - apart from that spindash-slope error, I didn't find any other bugs. Only real problem I had was with the first handglider - seems like you run, jump onto the spring, and then somehow should catch the handglider. Doesn't work for me - usually end up crapshooting it. Also, the opening movie is a bag of balls. Either get a new intro or leave it out, please. Other than that, this is easily the best (and most professional) fangame I've played in years.
  18. More like Black Knight, the film with Martin Lawrence in King Arthur's Court.
  19. I was making a national joke. Gambit and BioWare are both French. Funny how the blurb mentions "fit for a king" and "its got a lot of heart". Normally you could put two and two together and... but apparently not.
