I highly doubt that's the case. And let's not have a repeat of the 8.8 situation either... But besides that, his review doesn't seem far off from many reviews of commercial games. They compare other games in the process quite frequently, usually not by name for obvious reasons, but the comparison still is there. If a game is similar to another in one way or another, one cannot help but compare because its just human nature. I think fangames have progressed in quality to the point where comparing them is becoming worthwhile. SAGE has grown to such a point where we're seeing many quality games and guests that it's hard not to want to take things more seriously. It enhances the experience... Displaying something at any Expo opens yourself up for comparison to past or present projects, and I take SAGE as seriously as any other "professional" expo. Heck, look at our guest list and how far SAGE came from it's conception. We're an amazing community... If all that upsets any of you, take a look around. You still have one of the best fangame projects I've, and we all have seen in years (besides mine, because I'm a cocky attention whore bastard). No need to get all defensive...

Azu goes 3D - UPDATE: 9/15/08 (See Lastest Page)

Shaders would be a really advanced 3d class... But they're really not too hard once you learn the basics... But it's harder to make the fancier effects without research... I've only messed with writing/editing HLSL Shaders though... I wonder how blender handles shaders... -

Pretty cool! Simple, but the lighting makes it more interesting... -
When I get home/school (wherever I decide to go after work) I'll play this and SFA... It looks interesting to me...

This game really was great. The little touches were awesome as well as the overall feel of the game. I'm really looking forward to this game... A lot... A whole insanely crazy amount of a lot... It just has this... Well thought out and put together feel that just makes you feel all... It's like, nostalgia with more freshness than you can shake a bottle of Fabreeze at... (even though I hate the smell of Fabreeze, so I guess that was a bad example... but still) Well done.

Why were so many people on that game anyway? I thought it was still meh at best...

He used to still IM me as blazefire and that other name he used asking for help and crap, even after I told him to GTFO in a way or place that makes me feel uncomfortable...

And many other awesome games that the creators didn't decide to hype and wanted to surprise us at the Show... And Christian Sean, Mike Pollock, Richard Jacques, and Ryan Drummond.

I didn't care too much for it either... but it had that "KANEDA!!!" "TETSUO!!!" shouting match meme, similar to the Inyuasha "Inuyasha!!!" "KAGAME!!!" shouting matches... which made up the entire series...
-
Careful DW... Canada might go on strike again, and the rest of the world won't care!!! GWHAAHAHAHAHHAAAA!!!! We love you Sonic101!! We also love Kaneda! (Actually, I'll probably make Kaneda my next avatar...)

Sure thing... Just pm me details of what you want the subdomain to be called, if you have your own site template or want to use one of the ones I plugged together, or whatever else... -
Welcome. The Beatings will continue until morale improves! Enjoy your stay... Feel free to bug me about anything, I need something to distract me from work...

Actually, that was one of the concepts used in Sonic's Vacation... You could switch between the leader and the follower at any time. Though my concept was that Tails couldn't die, but he will make you lose rings if he gets hurt under your control. When he's under AI control, that's his problem, not yours (though I had to dumb it down so he doesn't kill the entire world before you blink...) But there is a timer so you can only use him for a certain amount of time... The only tricky part is making that feel like a useful feature and not just a gimmick... While there will be cases of that, it doesn't matter too much since the game is a parody game anyway... But I would like to make a more serious game that takes advantage of that. But it would require careful engine creation this time as copy pasting the entire movement engine twice for two characters was a stupid design mistake on my part... Not that MMF is the nicest object oriented tool out there... Construct does seem to handle that much better, but i'm not sure how far that can go regarding this either... Well, guess I have a new XNA project...

But a pot of boiling gold just sounds... awesome! "Bring your gold to a boil and then add onions. Once the onions begin to char, add parsley, sage, scallions, and butter (please, no margarine) and let simmer for 5 minutes..."

Aww... if only I was in Cali... -
Nice. Thanks for that info!

Most likely. Maybe even Taxman of RetroSonic (I bloody love that game...)... I think it used similar concepts to the originals...
-
Didn't the original games use preset movement settings for each tile (not sure if it was on all tile sizes or only some)? Like certain tiles would make Sonic move in a specified direction based on his current speed... I do recall someone making a replica of that before...
