  1. It depends of the behaviour itself. It depends of what you want to use. Actually, the best way should be to have custom static engines for each object, but it consumes cpu. On MMF you should be able to use some built in movements to make small things. the one i most use is the bouncing ball movement, since it allows to move freely on every direction and allows you to change the movement pathern when you want to. Actually, AI dependes more of the enviroment than the movement itself. The easiest way i found for doing AI is by having an alterable value that indicates what to do. For example, want a badnik that drops over sonic when he passes under the robot? It's easy: Bouncing ball movement. At start of frame set alterable value a to badnik.x set alterable value b to badnik.y if alterable c equals 0 +only once badnik.set speed to 30 badnik.set direction to left or right if alterable c equals 0 + badnik.x < badnik.alterable a -100 set badnik.direction to right if alterable c equals 0 + badnik.x > badnik.alterable a +100 set badnik.direction to left if alterable c equals 0 + badnik.x < sonic.x+16 + badnik.x > sonic.x-16 set alterable value c to 1 if alterable c equals 1 set speed to 100 set direction to down if alterable c equals 1 + badnik. collides with bg set value c to 2 if alterable c equals 1 + badnik.y > alterable value b + 200 set value c to 2 if alterable c equals 2 set speed to 10 set direction to up if alterable c equals 2 + badnik.y <= alterable b set value c to 0 set badnik.y to alterable b more-less. Also, another recomendation. If you have to use sensors to detect positions, while possible, put them in sonic instead of the enemy. For example, if you want to change that the above badnik detects sonic position with a sensor, you should put the sensor onver sonic instead of having one sensor for each baddie. I hope that helps.

  7. Actually, i had this idea long time ago, but out of everything i could do. Actually my idea was to have the level rotatinmg arround sonic, that is in the centre. Wouldnt it look better if the rotating goes along the character's angle, instead being delayed? Rocks a lot. I wish sega could add this to 2D sonic games, it's going to be crazy going at high speeds >_<. I am glad to see my idea in action XD
  8. OMG, WiiSex played with miis must be the most exciting theng ever >_< Actually, i am waiting for fewer games on wii, mostly from 3rd parties. I hope to don't get dissapointed, else i will think on change system. Actualyl i am playing more my ds than wii.

Yes!!! +1 -Sonic sleeps when standing around for too long. +1 -Sonic literally gets faster and faster the longer you run with him. +1 -There was barely a slowdown except for three times and none lasted for more than 2 seconds. They can fix that. -1 -Camera was great, didn't falter once. +1 -The china level looks fun, though the guy died from endless pits twice there but only there. -1 -Weresonic looks fun to play +1 -Love some of Weresonic's moves like bouncing and kartwheels +1 -New enemies confirmed like phantom snakes. +1 -The health system for Weresonic works that when he's getting hurt his shields will go down and when it reaches zero he starts loosing health. However, his shield regenerates over time. +1 -Officially titled "Sonic the Werehog" -1 wtf? -He said that they were trying to make Super Sonic playable in levels. +5 -Checkpoints now have electric fences to hit +1 -There was only one glitch I spotted and it wasn't a bad one either. -1 -Shadow confirmed to be in the game. -100 Personal oppinion
  11. Is it that hard to stop during one second and think "wait, let's check the most succesful games of the saga to see if we can find what we are doing wrong"? If you ask them "why old sonic games were so good" they will probably answer you "speed". "why speed?" "Because sonic was faster than anything on videogames" It must be a cool show to hear their conversations.

  13. GD, i feel like you. Actually, i am waiting for some cool games, like project zero 4, monster hunter 3, deathly creatures, ¿¿sadness?? and i still think i forget about something. But the nintendo conference was like "omg, we had made this shit that we should have released at first, so, wait for other people to make games with it! Ridiculous.

  15. Im very dissapointed with nintendo. I was waiting for those -Hardcore- games they announced. They have plenty of options: zelda, mario, kid icarius, golden sun and a whole bunch more, and they just throw that stupid wii music game! Really dissapointed. They think they already won and they do not care about?

  19. Thank you everybody for your comments. The real problem of this, is that it has become too long. Things has been evolving and SFA is still on the first steps of 360, not talking about my gaming skills that has been changing over time, for worse or for better. Actually, i am not plenning on leave SFA. I will just drop storyline and newer characters since i wont be able to sprite and make cutscenes. Everything else will be on. Later, i'll leave fangaming, im not sure if ill do it forever or just resting a bit, it depends of a lot of factors. Mostly because i am kind of stressed with this. I has been making this game completely alone, just some help on engine and I really am tired of doing so much work. And about game topic. I just wanted to re-relase SFA for people to know more about it. Actually, if i want, i could release a full game with 25 zones, 7 special stages and even secret zones and final battles, so, as rael said, its time to show something. That is the reason of this post, appart of finding errors. My level design is far away from being perfect, and i want to find out whats wrong to improve. thanks again to everybody
  20. Well, i think the problem is that what people expect of SFA. It is supossed to be one of the great ones but i do not feel like able to do it as expected. And when you work in something with your best, it hurts a lot to hear that many faults. But, the problem is not that SL, i think it is you the one who is misunderstanding my words (Mostly how i do say things). I never took anything in a wrong way, and never said anything to offense anyone, to flame or whatever. Probably because i say the things so... cold, some of you misinterpreted it (or as it is said). It is just, that i tried my best and there are hard faults already, i have not the level to do what i want to do, thats the reason i am thinking on leave fangaming after sfa is realeased. SFA, is my best, and it is not what i want to do. Even though i came here for people to help me with problems, i don't think i can do it better than it is now, and if there are better levels, its just casuality.
  21. Sure there is no chance for exploration? I think you missed lots of things, else, our concepts of exploration are different. BTW, i surrender. Im not good for this. I will release sfa as a bunch of levels and done. I do not want to work anymore on fangaming.

  23. The bottom left part is the start point of a specific character. And the green things are invisible platform objects. I used that since the bridge pieces has not a smooth shape. Rael: it is a completely new act. For curious, blue (light and dark) sensors are spawn points of piranna enemies
  24. Ill choose to ignore people before throw everything away. Here is another map from act 2. I personally think that it looks better, but level design is not my strong, so i am not sure about it.
