  1. If Player_MovementValues.speed >=6 enable sparkles if Player_MovementValues.speed < =-6 enable sparkles remember that it is stored on the Player_MovementValues alterable values. Read the name of the alterable value, it is descriptive enough to understand what does it do.
  2. I think global objects keep the values as they are between frames. Try it, just remember to reset them at the end of the zone.

  8. Seriously? Making objects invisible don't stop the collision. Clickteam could have done if better by having a stupid list of collision objects and with how objects can collide. Anyway, if someone also want to talk about this it'd be better to make another topic instead of filling this one with garbage.

Sorry for the offtopic, but i find this pretty intesesting. the worst and i mean worst thing ever on mmf is the low performance on levels over 500 objects, of course, if what you are saying is right, it is possible to move rings, boxes and enemies into different layers, or even split zone into different layers depending of x position, but i am not sure if the slowdown caused by multilayering the level worths it. I'd appreciate if someone can experiment with this.
  10. Do not ask for someone to make your level design. Do it yourself. Trust me, my level design was the worst even, but with practise i now can make something decent and playable.
  11. It is theorical or it is proved that splitting into different layers improves performance? I would like to see real data about this, could help a lot on big large levels.
  12. Yeah, you got it right, i like it. Now you just need some waterfalls in the background with some purple reflections to give some more colour variety, and probably you are done.
  13. I'd prefer my colour for those grey decorative things, but i agree your purple is better.
  14. It looks like an ice zone more than a jewel zone. Pink or purple should look good EDIT: I cannot do so much since that sprite is quite limited and i am on job >_<

  16. Yeah, it'd be fun to have more contest like this. Also, we could have a section in SFGHQ for those minigames. It could attract some people. I'd help as judgement, but i think my role suits better as developer. I'll contribute next year with something big.

  18. Well, no, do not think that you are playing bluc hedgehogs or humans, you are playing a bunch of sprites/polygons. And in both games you have 2 characters playing the same, with slight differences, and both characters plays most part of the game on the same place, with just a few custom sections and a few object replacement. And the new RE are kinda new, and I don't think people complained about how evil was to play with 2 characters that moves at the same speed and shot at the same speed. About level design, you are right, but i don't think that is a good point. If I buy a sonic game is to be running and plataforming over large levels, not to play a bad shooter game or a treasure hunt. Different game modes are for me just a no no. If you don't like a kind of gameplay of 2 options, then you don't like half of the game. It is not the same if they are small optional games, because it doesnt intefere with the game, but interfering it jsut makes the game wrong. The thing i most hate of SA is that i had to obbligatory play as big, amy, tails and gamma to watch the real ending. If their gameplay were the same, but with slight differences, newer paths and else, it'd be one of the most enjoyable things of the game. You can replay the game having lots of new surprises. In other words, I find as fun to play a multi-experience game as to play a minigames' game. Can be fun during some time, but that's all. It doesn't give the experience of getting inside the core of the game.

  20. I do not agree. Look for example the latest game cube Resident evil series. REmake and RE zero has 2 characters, and they play mostly the same, but they have unique small things that makes them interesting. Just like s3k. gameplay was the same, but each character has the unique small things that made the gameplay interesting. For example, knuckles not only was able to climb, he also was able to break walls without spindash and the jump was more limited than the sonic one. That gave a lot of gameplay for knuckles with secret paths filled with unique areas ready to test the knuckles skills. The level itself had unique secrets. Think on the angel Island rocks when you played sonic 3k. Didn't you spend some time there trying to enter inside before leave it as impossible? Having it on separated levels is not the same thing, since the level is actually exploited at maximun, so, there is no more secrets to find than what you can get at first. Instead, you wont be able to run over all the level with just one character, making it more interesting.
  21. Oh hell, sephi, didn't know you were a fan of the project zero series. I love you more than before. Actually didn't know it was going to be released so soon. Actually I didn't see anything but 3 screens, I though they needed more time and probably they could show something on this E3. Then, I will just wait to see what's the surprise of Nintendo, and I seriously have faith on that to not be a nintendo game.

  23. It's wii time! I want to see more of project zero 4. It is the game I am waiting for.
