  1. Let's hope someone notices and I can actually get paid for this, then.
  2. Again, if you're aiming for a zero kill playthrough on Boss Extreme, make sure you've restocked on all tranquilizer weapons and grenades and shit. Drebin doesn't sell non-lethal items in Boss mode. Regarding MGO, my prefferred tactic is to find a good spot where I can hide and control the entrances then plant some porn magazines. Incoming enemies will be greeted with CQC, stuns and stabbery, plus there's always the sniper rifle for those who are too far. If you're going for buttrape moves, level up the CQC skill. The more you have the faster you can drain stamina in chokes, and when it's at master you can disarm people. Also Knife Skill at level 3 lets you slice throats when holding someone which is schweet.
  3. That'd be quite the shocker, considering it's a series made by Sony Santa Monica oh btw wii owners are getting a dead rising port http://wiieveryday.blogspot.com/2008/07/famitsu-20080718.html edit: ewww smiley icons
  4. The Sony conference was better than Nintendo's but that ain't saying much. With every year E3 gets less and less exciting. btw http://www.gamersyde.com/news_6804_en.html
  5. Didn't like the new realtime combat in Fallout, really. It makes it look like a run of the mill FPS which is very NOT Fallout. One of the reasons that franchise is practically the only western RPG I can actually enjoy playing was the turn based combat system. But we'll see. Also RE5 online coop is sex. And here's the SEGA lineup Marked the stuff that matters. Sad to see the Aliens FPS & RPG aren't on the list tho, but hey - Bayonetta. Edit: GT has a Mirror's Edge Dev walkthru
  6. IIRC the story is about how she's an out of the law messenger that delivers illegal confidential information while trying to rescue her sister from a corrupt government that seeks to monitor and control everything in the city. So I guess you'll start doing "routine" jobs first (if you can call routine to parkouring over rooftops and shit) and later on try to break into complexes and run away and shit. Gameplay is basically freerunning from A to B. The elements you can use are color coded according to the way they're employed methinks, and while there's a bit of shooting you'll end up ditching the weapons pronto because Faith needs both hands free to do cool shit. In fact if you want weapons you're gonna have to steal them from the police first.
  7. http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/949455/mirrors-edge/videos/mirrors_edge_e3_trailer_07140B.html I want this so very much
  8. Nintendo will probably have a game dedicated to show off that new peripheral. I'm just praying it's an actual game and not some franchise rape casualized minigame bullshit. I'm looking at you, Zelda. Also bring Mother pls
  9. Because there's other games. Or maybe he was being sarcastic. It seems they're doing the Ps3 version first and releasing in Japan, then they'll localize and start on the port. Gee, I wonder how many months europeans will have to wait, AGAIN.
  10. I love how Square made the cameras pull away from the trailer even though it's the exact one they showed at TGS last year. Last fucking year.
  11. The Beta geo-locked through IPs, but I think they've changed it in the final game and it's now disc based. Meaning you're gonna need a game copy from your region, or hope Konami stops sucking and makes their servers global. Shame because it's a fantastic multiplayer experience when you're not getting headshotted from a mile away :/
  12. http://wii.ign.com/articles/888/888041p1.html wow guys i never saw this coming just wow Trailer is nice :>
  13. Congrats on your purchase sir, now tell me your PSN ID so I can add you. I'm doing a no alerts/no kills playthrough now, on Hard, to test my skills and unlock shit. Eventually I'm going to attempt getting the best rank and at the very least I'll need to have a certain secret weapon and lots of drebin points to stock on tranqs because he doesn't sell non-lethal ammo in Extreme. On my previous playthrough I tried to be somewhat stealthy but didn't mind to get caught because I'd just switch to my machineguns for some balls to the walls shooting action while running to the exit. Now I find myself learning the patrol routines and zone layouts, actively using the various gadgets and Snake's entire array of CQC techs. Sure there's a lot of restarting when that fucking gekko over there spots me in last part before the checkpoint but it's a lot of fun. MGO is region locked because Konami are a bunch of doodoo heads so I can't play against people here unless they live in Yurop. My character ID is Dobkeratops in case someone wants to add me. An easy target for headshots but trying to compensate my inability to shoot with lots of playboys and throat slicing. Also buy Uncharted.
  14. I liked it too. Problem is, I replayed it earlier this year and going through some especially complex/frustrating stages again so soon would be a painful task. Remember that fucking level in the man's nightmare chapter where you had to screw with water levels in cramped areas with respawning enemies and the ever present air gauge running out? HATE Although that chapter did have some of the most interesting stages. Excellent atmosphere, too. (Late response, sorry, I haven't had much forum tiems). Also DW, if you dislike it because it's super easy to abuse, that I can understand. I spent the entire game SIDE KICKing bosses. But it's so fun. Obliterating minions at lightning speed in glorious 60fps, getting the bonus gauge up and keeping it, then unlocking all the battle trophies for rewards and stuff.
  15. I for one trust Capcom's word on this. They're, after all, known for delivering unique, exclusive gaming experiences carefully tailored to each specific platform that never get ported. They're not into the franchise milking business. Especially not with the Megaman series.
  16. http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2008/06/27/megaman-9-to-be-the-first-game-to-hit-wiiware-xbla-and-psn I wonder if it's the same game visually across all three. Will be interesting to see how they've adapted 8 bit sprites to a HD resolution. I hope it's hi-res bitmaps drawn as 8bit sprites rather than a lame upscale job. For the sake of having a clean image.
  17. I could swear there's mandaroty skit sequences as well as optional. And I couldn't make the goddamn text GO FASTERRRRRGH in either. I'd prefer to save up for RPGs less likely to annoy me. Like Disgaea 3 or Shirokishi Monogatari, the latter being one title I hope to see new stuff of this E3 rather than waiting for TGS But hey, if I happen to come accross a borrowed copy or a demo of a new Tales Of game and I am incredibly bored I could give them a 5 minutes try, if only so I can bitch later. I did beat Shadow the Hedgehog after all. Also I can't say no to free stuff, it's written on my genes.
  18. Story was boring, uninteresting characters, bland artistic direction (it's decent and colorful - always a plus - but didn't strike me as particularly inspired). The unskippable mandatory skits or whatever that shitty talking portraits thing was with not even a trace of voice acting to ease the pain got on my nerves REALLY fast. Had the characters sparked some response on my part would've made them bearable but holy fuck where they shallow or wat. Xenogears has the same slow text syndrome the entire game but since Xenogears was actually a pretty awesome RPG with good characters and a fun, unique combat system I could beat it and enjoy it. The combat system in ToS? Slow and clunky. Perhaps had I not played Star Ocean 3 before my opinion would've changed but TriAce knows how to make addictive real time RPG battles and Symphonia's felt a major downgrade. Letdown total. In short, I paid 60€ for a game that I can't play. I'd rather replay Ecco PS2 entirely than having a 5 hour session with ToS. I respect your opinion and hope you enjoy the franchise, but for the foreseeable future I'm not touching any Tales Of game with a ten foot pole. FFX-2, despite having a cringe-worthy plot and introducing a dumb new cast was a lot of fun to play. Simply because it had the best realtime ATB implementation of the FF series making battles a blast. I would hope FFXIII's combat plays a lot like that. Sorry for the offtopic. And back to the thread at hand, will SFGHQ host an irc room or chat session or whatever to discuss the pre-E3 conferences? Keynotes are so much fun when in a group.
  19. The Symphonia team isn't working on that, they're doing the next gen game Vesperia. Not that I would give a shit because I bought the first and can't get past the 2 hour mark because I find it so utterly boring. ToS more liek PoS amirite lulz *runs from scary Tales Of fans* That comes out like next month, doesn't it? In Japan I mean. Now that Nintendo is publishing I expect the European release date to be christmas. Christmas 2009 that is. With Silent Hill V being dissapointing because Konami doesn't give a fuck about the franchise anymore I'll have to resort to Fatal Frame and Siren for my horror fixes this generation. I wanted a good next gen Silent Hill :< Anyways. E3. Just give me some Team ICO news and it's instant success. Otherwise I'll settle for God of War, FFXIII, Metroid, Infamous and candy. And Mother but we all know Nintendo would rather make some retarded minigame casual bullshit than localize Itoi's work.
  20. My guess is that it's a side effect from the machine he used to desuper him. Or that's the impression I got from that batch of pics with sonicrapeface.jpg
