they're far too wishy-washy to get anything decent done. the only particularly good fangame was megaman 21xx, and even it is riddled with bugs and broken stuff. (for some reason I can't even play it now cuz it crashes)
saying it needs some chamfer's to the really harsh edge transitions is being non-constructive. okay sure! If you aren't intending this to be used in a game (which is obvious just looking at the form of it) then I'm suprised you aren't just going all out on the model. pretty rendering does not a good model make.
I gave the build you gave me a shot. gotta say that Sequel Shine is pretty rad up until act 2 where I'm pretty sure it's unfinished. though having that pit there at the start of the level that you can't get out of is a real drag. but since this is a dev build I'm assuming that's not staying. good to see the things I made put to use though! made me awful giddy seeing and interacting with em!

And yeah, that second one looks the best to me. best to not over saturate the blue or it'll look weird.

Lakefeperd, I gave that first pillar a shot. I can do the second one in this manner but I think the tree is kind of SOL due to how difficult that would be to get looking decent.

aside from this, I got a sketchbook, a camera stand, a hat, a shirt, some giftcards to various restaurants, a wallet, some money, and a jar of almonds.
I kind of forgot where I put that last one actually.
yeah gotta say it looks really nice, though not sure if the really subtle colors used to make it rougher are necessary or not. they work well, but not sure how many people would notice it.
you're gonna really need to tone down background palettes with the cave story sprites. they're designed to have really high contrast and the bug handing around on the pipes will be difficult to see if you don't do tweaking.

in some bizarro world where I could program or make games, you would play as a crate robot that hides and backstabs enemies in order to get weapons.
