  1. Sonic 4 = Wall jump. Sonic becomes more mobile, but still requires skill to make use of the ability as opposed to pressing a button twice and closing your eyes. If you keep him balled up like classic Sonic, it'd look like he was just bouncing off the wall(s). Which would be cool. Bam. Game Design.
  2. The thing is, Sega uses the new Sonic to market their iPhone port of the original game. Imagine my confusion when I went looking for it on the app store, only to be greeted by that smug piece of shit. Actually, they've used new Sonic for all of their classic ports, like the Collections for the last gen of consoles, and the promo thing for the Sonic collection on DS or whatever the fuck that was. That pretty much tells me that Old Sonic saw his Shadow and ran back into his Knothole for good. EDIT: Here you go, Brad: http://forums.sega.com/showpost.php?p=5534383&postcount=1
  3. Apparently Sega stated that Sonic's animation is weird because that's not him running at top speed. He goes faster. That was just his walking animation. ... I'm gonna be holding Right a lot, aren't I? It's gonna be Sonic Advance 2.5, isn't?
  4. The thing is, Sonic's had a shitload of reboots. The only thing that's changed is that they've thrown their stake in the ground with the number 4. But as far as I'm concerned, apart from SegaWOW, Sega hasn't developed a good game in a long time. They're putting all their chips in, especially with their retarded hype machine, so if they fuck up, a lot of people will ditch him for good. EDIT: Also, the difference between this and MM9 is that MM9 tries to be an actual, genuine NES game, and strips away the bells and whistles until you had Mega Man in his most basic form. The presentation and core gameplay were a statement: "all that stuff from the 90's onward? Never happened. This is old Mega Man made new". Sonic 4 has 3D Sonic that doesn't really look all that cool, and the new style, and possibly crap from newer Sonic games. Sure, they took out Fart the Poopshit and Dick the Dingdong, but they haven't fully committed to making a "New Old Sonic". And again, short devtime. Unleashed was a little over a year ago (around Black Knight's release, no less). This is coming out in the summer. That's not a whole lot of time, and given how glitchy Sega games tend to be, they could definitely use more time.
  5. http://www.gamesradar.com/f/sonic-4-trailer-10-things-no-normal-person-would-spot/a-20100204123329329054 This guy is more critical than I am. But he's got good points. Sonic's head is huuuuuuuuuuge. And yea, homing attack in a 2D game is cruise control.
  6. The only thing that pisses me off is that, good or bad, it's gonna sell like crazy because SONIC FORE!!! Which, if it's good (that's a big if) is good news, but if it's shit? And it still sells well? That's just another free pass for Sega to make more shitty Sonic games. The fact that this is an episodic download series makes me wonder if this is made by their B Team...
  7. I saw Bowser die eight times and that jerk still came back >
  8. Didn't know that was even important, considering Sonic just does whatever the fuck now.
  9. Note that midnight tonight = Feb. 4th = Sonic FOURSDAY If the game isn't good, there's gonna be some serious Sonic Cycle whiplash. Sega's done everything BUT explicitly state "No really, this isn't going to suck". They're trying so hard to win people back, bless their hearts.
  10. I don't actively listen to the Grey Album. But it's good background fodder for driving with friends or working in the studio. But I kinda treat the Black Album the same way. I prefer Q-Unit (despite hating G-Unit) cause Queen's music has way more of a presence in it (but then again, Queen's forceful and epic.)
  11. I don't think anyone's mentioned The Grey Album or Q-Unit yet. Though I'm pretty sure everyone knows the former (Jay-Z's Black Album meets The Beatles' White Album), the latter is a mashup of G-Unit and Queen, making G-Unit actually listenable to some degree.
  12. This. Ugh. I wish someone would hurry up with a new jailbreak for the 3G. Damn forced tether boot-up.
  13. That's not the point :V
  14. I got an iPod Touch for Christmas. I was impressed by what I could do with it. Then I went to Gametrailers. And a shitload of other sites that use flash a lot. Then I realized why so many sites have apps of their sites on the app store. (cause they use flash). I don't mind my iPod having lackluster web browsing, but this is supposed to be a tablet computer. A d quite frankly, they haven't explained WHY we should buy this (other than "it's bigger").
  15. I'm sure you could replace "fursona" with "badnik" and you'll do just fine.
  16. Log onto DeviantArt Search "Sonic" Download pictures of fursonas Done in 5 minutes
  17. DJ Hero has some rad mash-ups. Also, Gorillaz + Sonic. I heard you guys like Sonic? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odUACA8RUyI
  18. Oh, he's doing stuff again. Oh yes... Masturbating. I'm talking about masturbating.
  19. $1.5 Million skit in less than a minute. And there's still 2 shows left. He's like a bitter wife taking all of the husband's money after a divorce.
  20. Yea, I consider SegaWOW to be the exception to the rule, and Platinum is independent. (...but then Sega made a shoddy PS3 port. I love the game, but the loading times remind me of that painful video of Sonic '06 where the poor guy spent forever loading every goddamn thing in the hub world. This paragraph doesn't really have a point. I'm just butthurt.)
  21. Well, the fans wanted it too. And once Mega Man 9 came out, lots of people said "DO THAT SEGA". But it doesn't change the fact that Sega's track record has been pathetic lately (poor programming, poor design, poor ports, poor revivals). Sega needs to prove (to me, at least), that they can still make good games, period.
  22. We're making a good Sonic game! Oh. Thank you, Sega. Thank you sooooo much! You've graced us by answering our prayers by doing what every good developer should do: listen to the fans! Clearly, all this awful crap since Sonic Adventure was a test of my faith! And sure, Unleashed also starred technically just Sonic as a playble character, and Secret Rings too, so it's not really anything to be excited about, and this is your third reboot, but condescending us with this stupid publicity stunt has totally won me over! TL;DR: what's the big deal, Sega?
  23. Looks like Howard Stern is getting in on this. He's had an in for Leno. Whether you like him or not, he loves stirring shit up. I really hope he goes on the Tonight Show.
