  1. Marina Lightyears would own the entire SSBB character roster. Too bad she's such an obscure character v_v I wonder if this will use the controller addon instead of the Wiimote. I hope the controls are easy to learn... EDIT: SSBM black hole glitch: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5698408923927326067
  2. http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/video/super-mario-world-super-skills-178218.php Holy crap. I'd love to see this guy to an entire speed run. EDIT: bah, emulator abuse. Oh well. Still really awesome.
  3. dood I saw streak in the trailer if you look close enough you see him on teh wing of the airship!!! But yea, Nintendo ain't gonna slap in random lesser known characters. They're sticking with the heavy hitters, and that's why the japanese site has a request form (why the hell aren't we included?)
  4. the only characters we know of are ones in the trailer. AiAi and Panther and crap are probably not gonna be in it. Same with Nights and Leo.
  5. well, if I knock Ness after the second jump, he's in trouble too :X Pichu's uber fast, and tiny. He can dodge most attacks, and has good recovery moves. He'd be fine without items and self damage. Marth has the most style if you're very offensive and utilize his speed as much as possible. He's really good at shffling, and his counter can get him out of sticky situations. His only flaw is his lack of projectiles, but I'm so in your face with him that I don't miss them at all. Sometimes, I like to use counter as an offensive move instead of defensive, which can really screw with your opponent ^.^ The thing is, a lot of people use Marth, so it's kinda dull in a lot of the tournaments I've been to. So I practice a lot with Link or Young Link, too. Right now, I've been doing some rigerous training with 3 lv9 CPUs with 9 handicap and mine at 5. I haven't won (probably never will) but it helps, because when I play a legit match with someone, I'm already used to my attacks having little knockback, so I tend to play a lot better.
  6. Marth ftw Ness is cool, but his third jump can be a pain in levels with lots of platforms (fall far enough between two buildings in Eagleland and you better hope the second jump has enough "omf" to get you up) If Pichu didn't hurt himself everytime he used a special, I'd play as him more often. Then again, if Bowser and DK weren't so useless, I'd probably use them too :X I think Yoshi's pretty underrated. I've seen some pretty amazing players handle him well at local tournaments, yet a lot of people I know hate him (my ex even came up to me once in Calc class and said she played SSBM and said that Yoshi sucks, but she's a noob) I hope Game and Watch has better moves. I know they're good, but they're a pain in the ass to use properly. I just play as him to piss others off with the taunt.
  7. I'll have to watch this thread. My dad got me a beefed up Dell XPS laptop for graduation, and when it gets here, I wanna load it up with tons of crap :X
  8. I mean, let's say you toss me up in the air. I'm Link, and I use my downward sword stab. I'm falling, and as I am, I gain speed. That speed should affect how much damage I do and add more to it, whereas if I just hop a little and use the same move, it should do less. Anywho, of the returning clones, they should be revamped so they're quite different from the originals. Like I said, Mario and Luigi are quite different, even though they share a few similar moves. Marth and Roy should be varied, Ganondorf and Capt. Flacon should be different, etc. And by different, I mean not just different speeds and power and stuff. Different A and B moves. Then make alternate forms of some characters that have the same moves, but just look different. Link has had a bunch of different art designs (aLttP ftw) and Samus has had quite a bit of suits. But those alternate costumes (each with alternate palettes) should the the only real clones in the game. Get rid of the lame characters. Like Dr. Mario. I dunno if this has been mentioned, but Samus/Zero Suit are gonna work like Zelda/Shiek. The less 3rd party characters, the better. However, DO put Marina Lightyears in it. I heard she's got quite a few requests, and she's the coolest heroine ever
  9. Marth and Roy were so popular people begged Nintendo to bring Fire Emblem here, and they did. I want the clones in the last game to have moves to set them apart, like Luigi and Mario. That, and more alternate costumes. Like different Links, maybe an 8-bit mario or something, different Samus suits, etc. That, and momentum should play a role in this. When I use Link's Down A aerial in SSBM, I really want my downward momentum to have more of an impact on the damage done.
  10. the official site's been updated with bios of the new characters revealed thus far. Nice to see Snake will fit in in SSBB
  11. ToS rocks. I'd hit you for calling it 'meh', but I have to "respect people's opinions" >_> Four Swords is fun, but it's more of a rental if you don't plan on playing with a friend or a group of friends. Same goes with Crystal Chronicles.
  12. EDIT: I got it working now :X Yea, so I decided to pick up my old Sonic engine, and decided that the camera should move a little ahead of Sonic when he reaches higher speeds. I got it working, but I need to tinker with it to get it working right. Unfortunately, I screwed something up, and it doesn't makes sence. The camera doesn't shift back to it's normal position, and now the camera shifts in the opposite direction, only when moving to the right (it shifts the properway when moving to the left.) It's gettign quite frustrating, and I can't seem to find a camera tutorial that fits my needs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Downloading Sonic 2k6 now. BTW, that mario one rawks. EDIT: very nice. I like the level design. Very fast. One critisizm: change 'press start' to 'press enter'. That, and enter isn't used for the menu itself. But aside from that, very nice.
  14. I just picked up SCII yesterday :X I'm not a fighting freak, but when I close my eyes, I see Link going mano a mano with Raphael. RE4 is awesome, though I never finished it. As great as it is, it's not my kinda game, ya know? Just check all the greatest hits games.
  15. the point of DDR is that the arrows follow a pattern and rythm along with the song. Here's an example, but with a guitar riff instead of pop music: http://www.flashplayer.com/games/supercrazyguitarmaniacdeluxe.html a little different from how DDR is set up, but the rythm pattern thing is the same idea. I don't think it'd be too difficult to program.
  16. no, but now I am. I went to school today, even though it wasn't required (friday is our last official day) cause I had to get graduation tickets and pay for my yearbook, and there was this errie feeling. It felt so empty and quiet, and I could do almost anything (I managed to get in and out without being stopped by security. I once tried to ditch a pep rally and got caught, so I was somewhat shocked.)
  17. I am too. But I'm sick of all the cliched religious people today. It's annoying. Let's just worship Dr. House. He can save a man's life by throwing vodka down his throat.
  18. The Wonder Years are the best years
  19. It's funny; I made this big deal about not keeping a real relationship that long (longest I've gone was maybe 2 or 3 months, then dumped her for personal reasons >_>), and as soon as school ends, this girl at work who I've had my eye on wants to go out. But she's younger than me, so I'll end up driving back to school anyways to hang with her and junk on weekends, so I'll still be seeing everyone :X God/Allah/Buddha has a funny sence of humor.
  20. The Wizard is coming to DVD this summer. Best marketing tool to promote a videogame. I just wanna know how they knew where the flute was in SMB3 if it wasn't out yet... anyhow, this'll be the second DVD I actually buy, so I'm gonna have a huge party wen this comes out. http://dvd.ign.com/articles/710/710731p1.html
  21. Actually, my first DS had an addicent in my pocket (top screen totally fuxed up) My replacement withstood harsher abuse.
  22. k. But Online is like, the big deal behind the recent Phantasy Star games. Plus, I have a feeling the offline game will play the same as the online game, just with more single player stuff. It doubt combat would be as fast and frenzied as, say for instance, KH2.
  23. PSP-PS3 connection=Nintendo's connectivity "PS3 is powered by Cell"
