  1. Sega has actually been pretty open to the pc market for a bit now, it's Sonic that hasn't really popped up, and now he's starting to make it over. People are realizing steam is just as viable a "console" as the consoles themselves, and much less limiting in what it allows developers to do.
  2. it's a weekend sale, will be going all the way through monday. I'm glad that cd is finally appearing on steam. I got a coupon that brought generations down to $15 a few weeks ago on steam, was totally worth it
  3. jesus this is old. Either way I've always had a bit of a problem with yhatzee and his reviews. He judges games wayyyy too harshly and acts like every game should be built perfectly, I respect his opinions but I definitely don't agree with them most of the time.
  4. Super mario land 3d, star fox 64 3d, and a kindle. Oh and one of those bed recliner pillows.
  5. duckboy's opinion on pc games are probably not what you want to hear or follow. He's got pretty bad taste ;D.
  6. lol don't worry about that he's learning how his wallet will be raped over the next week already.
  7. lol man it's good to see that name again
  8. This ^. I still don't understand why everyone flips their shit over Sonic CD. It's a decent game but it would never rank higher than 2, 3 or S&K (or any combination of the 3) in my list. I'm glad to see Taxman getting some real action outside of SFGHQ with his retro engine, and I will probably pick up a steam copy whenever it's available to support him and give the new engine a try.
  9. wow blast from the past! This forum doesn't get nearly as much activity as it used to, but I enjoy the people here enough to come back and throw my 2 cents into a thread every once in a while
  10. TOOD! I'm on Sword of Ajunta Pall, Empire side. I'm loving SWTOR so far.
  11. Oh man I completely forgot about duke nukem forever, the game is already $20 and it was released what in July? What an awful piece of shit.
  12. to be fair, I never really played much of SR 1 or 2 so that's probably why I'm enjoying this one so much heh...
  13. While I totally expected this year to be full of shitty video game releases and rehashes I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of quality stuff we've had to play: 1) Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword - This one takes the cake for me, it is now my all time favorite zelda, the music, the style, the gameplay, all of it meshes so well together that I couldn't get enough of this game! 2) Batman Arkham City - The first game was quite amazing, and this one takes the energy of the first game, cranks it up and puts you in a gauntlet of enemies. The pacing was PERFECT, and it felt like I was watching the cartoon on crack and I LOVED every second of it. 3) Skyrim - I luckily had the pleasure of playing this number from my pc, where I can elect not to use the patches, plus it just had less problems than the other 2 systems. Now I'm not really that big on the elder scrolls but this game just wouldn't let me go, the viking/norse style of the game quickly drew me in and I had and still have SO MUCH to do in the world. With a leveling system that really makes the game play the way you want it to and a huge rich world, it's hard not to get stuck for hours playing this game. 4) Portal 2 - This one is a no brainer, from amazing puzzles that made me scratch my head quite a few times, to an incredible ending. I was wowed from the moment I stepped into this world and it's a memory that will stay fresh for a few years. 5) Warhammer 40K: Space Marine - This one threw a wrench in the classic god of war gameplay style and made you a friggen space marine. I'm a warhammer 40k fan and I'm glad to see that they are making something other than rts' to explore the 40k world. This is the perfect jumping off point for people as space marines are fucking huge dudes in hulking armor. Throughout the game you get to sample all the space marine toys, like jump jets, giant hammers, and...JUMP JETS WITH GIANT HAMMERS, among other things. The flow is quite nice and the combat was handled excellently for a game of this nature. Honorable mentions: I enjoyed Sonic Generations very much. Saints Row 3 is hilarious fun, I don't know why the hate is there, it doesn't take itself seriously which is part of why I like it so much. I haven't gotten mario land 3d or I'd probably be raving about it. Dungeon defenders and orcs must die are the best tower defense games this year! Modern Warfare 3 - It had the worst storyline of the 3, but it packs great content like survival mode and toned down the multiplayer bullshit. Dissapointments: Dead Island - this game had potential but it just wasn't fleshed out very well : \
  14. http://dumbrunningsonic.tumblr.com/ not sure why this hasn't been posted yet, but it's been a pretty explosive meme the past few days. Very funny stuff.
  15. ;D I have my ways. I freaking LOVE the skyward sword soundtrack, I had to download the soundtrack like ASAP. Keep me posted on how you're enjoying it. Also hi I haven't seen you in a bit.
  16. I think I actually share this sentiment actually, it's just not the same as playing it on that tv. Probably why I stop midway through so many of my ps1 games on the psp.
  17. Seems like BoF 4 might be my new goto psp game when I feel like switching it on. I'm a fan of systems that try to do something different from the norm, but keeps it relatively close. A lot of games nowadays are trying to do everything different and it's getting a little out of hand. Anyone a fan of strategy RPG's? Talking about my psp reminded me of tactics ogre which is an incredible game if you're a SRPG buff.
  18. 6 is fantastic, definitely square at it's best, though 7 still ranks slightly higher for me. I'm a huge sucker for the materia system and 7's memorable story and cast over 6 but 6 is definitely my 2nd favorite of the series. If you're a fan of a good old rpg system might I suggest hopping into 5 after 6? 5 might not have the best story, but it's got such a solid soundtrack, and the job system is completely unique and one of my all time favorites in any rpg I've played. I REALLY do need to get into the breath of fire series, I really haven't given it a solid play on any of the games and I feel terrible for doing that as I always hear about how great it is. Maybe after my skyrim playthrough I'll have to give one of the entries an earnest shot.
  19. PSO:BB, that's a classic I haven't heard of in a while. I may have to see what the private servers are like nowadays. Epic mickey seemed like a pretty good game, I still haven't had the chance to play it yet.
  20. So I'm tired of the only active thread on this forum being the fucking sonic generations thread. So I'm going to start one where I ask wtf you guys are playing and what your thoughts are on that game or whatever game people are talking about at the time. To start off, I just beat Zelda Skyward Sword and I fucking LOVED it. It has definitely surpassed majora's mask and OoT as my all time favorite zelda. I thought the series has been stagnating after wind waker, twilight princess and those DS games were all pretty weak compared to the rest of the series. I was glad to find out this game didn't continue that trend and turned out to be genuinely fun, full of new puzzles and challenges, and looked and sounded amazing. I can't wait to talk to you guys about it more, but I figure I'll wait till everyone actually has a chance to play it friday/sunday before i go into it more. I'm also working my way through skyrim which is also a fantastic game.' So what are you guys playing and what are your thoughts on those games?
  21. Played through the whole thing with a dual shock 3 in 360 emulation mode, game ran fine.
