  1. You know Fumetsusozo, you could have come up with at least one positive thing to say for all of your complaints. It's hardly a bad model even if it has some quirks. It at least looks like something different than the classic Sonic model from Generations, and if it didn't then really what would have been the point in modeling it in the first place.
  2. From what I've heard it is actually slightly more awkward than that with some builds and when completing a level you need to reset certain values. It'd probably help if he posted an mfa demonstrating the problem so that we can figure out what's going on.
  3. Scrooge McDuck is basically my favorite Disney character. Yeah, I'd heard about this. Pretty cool.
  4. I guess I'm mildly interested in that case. It's a little fugly, but SA2's chao garden was fun and if you can make something with similar features that would be cool.
  5. What is your current status, and does it go beyond a still screen with a couple of small borrowed models within a box?
  6. Ok, annoyingly the IP address changed again last night. Since I'm tired of going to the effort of informing people one at a time, I'm just going to post it in this topic when it changes until I come up with a more permanent solution. 24.96.125.235
  7. That's what I was saying. We are trying to figure out what mods to put in it is all. I'll PM you the IP address.
  8. We are currently looking into adding mods to a base of TekkitLite, but starting a new world at this point is probably out. As for what we are looking into I have a list and I wouldn't be against throwing in some from FTB if you want any in particular. Forestry and Extra Biomes would probably be worthwhile. Stuff we are looking at adding to the modpack: computercraft 1.5 + addons bibliocraft mo creatures railcraft farmcraftory + chefcraftory smart moving Ropes+ might be worthwhile ------------------- LegendGear dungeon mobs
  9. Sprites and stages are the least of your worries. The first step to making a 2D game is learning to work with the medium of realtime 2D graphics. You sound like an absolute beginner, so I'm just going to recommend either Construct Classic (if you don't want to really code) or GameMaker (if you think you can handle some code). Then spend a few dozen hours running through tutorials before really thinking about getting a project together.
  10. No I don't unfortunately. I only experimented with it using PC. However, I think the idea is that since it's HTML5 it's supposed to be fairly consistent across all platforms. Something like an IOS device might not implement all the functionality in HTML5 as Chrome does in Windows, but it's probably just be graphical stuff and I'm pretty sure I read on the blog that they had fallback stuff for all of the platforms that they support. You'd just have to give it a try really. For some examples of what you can expect when operating on different platforms: https://www.scirra.com/blog/103/ie10-review-still-disappointing-for-html5-games
  11. Construct2 programming is basically a lot like MMF programming, so if you are comfortable with that I imagine it's perfectly viable. I've got a construct 2 license, but I still haven't really done anything of significance with it.
  12. This is different though. There aren't going to be any revelations. The PS4 uses what basically amounts to standard PC hardware. There are some slight differences yeah, like using graphics card RAM instead of DDR3, but none of that is going to make a huge difference. There isn't going to be any kind of learning curve for using the hardware.
  13. One thing I'm a little disappointed by is that we still don't know what it looks like... or any kind of ballpark estimate on the price... or anything like that really.
  14. Blizzard: We are going to show you something sooooo super awesome! Blizzard: It's that game that everyone stopped caring about a few weeks after it was released! It also plays pretty much exactly the same on PS3. Yeeeeah! Diablo 3! I know you can't wait to be ranted at by a Diablo who can't quite be taken as seriously as a captain planet villain... again! Ok, it's over. So yeah... the PS4 seems fairly cool overall. I wouldn't say the graphical leap is as impressive as going from PS2 to PS3, but I have been expecting that for some time. I'm glad to see Infamous is continuing and most of the games shown looked pretty damn awesome. Square Enix and Blizzard should have put a little fucking effort into their showing though. They might as well have just announced it on their web pages for all they did.
  15. Square Enix: Speaker A: We have an exciting announcement to make! *lots of rigmarole with bringing out another speaker* Speaker B: We are making a Final Fantasy game. Rest of the world: No shit.
  16. Yeah, some of that stuff could probably be optimized a little more. MMF doesn't exactly do for each loops very well though and this demo was full of them.
  17. I haven't actually posted this yet, have I... Had it kicking around on the FTP for a while now and I never bothered to actually create a topic for it. It uses one of the old level collab builds of Sonic Worlds, but I'm fairly sure the stuff in it should be fairly portable to current Sonic Delta builds. Feel free to pick it apart for the assets and to learn from the enemies/gimmicks/etc. If you choose to use something, a little recognition is nice, but I wouldn't ostracize anyone over it or anything like that. Please defer to Overbound before using the tile-set since I'm not principally responsible for that bit. http://dimensionwarped.sonicfangameshq.com/download/DWLev_Checkpoint25.mfa
  18. I think what you are looking for is actually a global property. I'm not sure about the screen resizing code, but for the version I wrote at least (which probably didn't go into the Delta branch), it scaled dynamically based on the original size of the window. Try to examine the project properties in the properties pane and then find the base resolution. Keep in mind that if you work at a higher resolution, you might run into some problems. If you aren't using the hardware accelerated MMF for instance, you might have poor frame rates if too much stuff is rendered at once. Likewise, if you try to use lots of pixel-perfect collision on enemies and stuff like that, the performance burden is a lot higher with higher resolution graphics. Try to stick to simple collisions as much as you reasonably can.
  19. The 8-bit song (unfolding) sounds like it definitely could have come from one of the first three Final Fantasy games or something. It's pretty nifty. I don't really know how to provide feedback for 8-bit music though. I found nothing particularly bad, so I have nothing to call out. I don't like the beginning of Magma. Particularly that high pitch rapidly repeating ascending thing that plays right up until 50 seconds. It just hurts my brain. The calmer segment right afterwards is great. I'm not sure if I believe it could have played on the Genesis... at least one instrument sounded like it was doing some kind of complex note blends, and it doesn't really sound like anything on the SNES. Angelic is fun and I have nothing bad to say about it whatsoever. I like some of the less harsh instruments in the Nexus version better, but obviously that's irrelevant given the 16-bit requirement.
  20. While this thread is nice and closed and all, I figure it's worth pointing out that the thread in question is in no way hidden and the only reason it isn't 'visible' is because the last post currently in it is from last July... so it's on page 4 for my current number of threads per page. I don't know if Ila deleted the last post Eminence claims to have made (in which case, ok, big whoop. I delete stupid shit occasionally as well), but the thread wasn't ever actually hidden or anything.
  21. It's jobs either way, and as I explained (well, glossed over really, but the numbers were there) above, this 500,000,000 isn't budgeted yearly, it's the budget for the duration of the program (unless someone were to increase that fund later). The government doesn't do manufacturing of any kind anyway, so what you are saying is a moot point. I mean... unless what you are really saying is the government should give that money to private industries to create manufacturing jobs, and if so, fuck giving more private corporations more free tax money, seriously. Also you didn't account for any of the expenses of those 20,000 beyond just 25,000 per person in pay. You'd be lucky if all of the other costs (social security, health benefits, benefits given to typical government workers beyond that) didn't end up making those 25k salary positions into 45k of costs.
  22. Eh, I'll humor you. Half a billion is a drop in the bucket when it comes to the scale of our debt. Actually it's not even that much money on the scale of a medium-sized city. It's roughly enough to have 400 moderately decently payed (say 60k total expense per year per person) people for 20 years. I know it sounds astronomical, but it really isn't. I don't find anything wrong with the stuff he has proposed, and I'm generally fairly conservative when it comes to gun rights. We can do better with guns than we've been doing while still allowing responsible people to have guns for sporting and defense purposes. I will say that all this fuss over assault rifles is silly since a semi-automatic rifle isn't really all that much more effective than a semi-automatic handgun with a stock for doing a massacre like this. They aren't machine guns like people seem to be perceiving them lately. I mean, they can be... but not the ones you can buy. Supposedly 1% of weapons dealers are responsible for something like 60% of the illegally distributed weapons recovered from use in crimes. That kind of shit probably needs to be looked into, and ATF is pretty much kept impotent to do so thanks to excessive lobbying and riders... or at least that's what I heard tonight on the Daily Show
