  1. Well...I've been fangaming in this community since around August of 2002. However, I don't believe I joined the boards until early 2003. My first game was Sonic Flash...anyone remember? No one! Good! *shudder* I don't have any other aliases though...I've always been gamerdude.
  2. True. I did read that article...didn't make me happy at all. Tristan needs to stop QQing about the lack of the bigger games. As already stated, this is actually a good time for the newer games to get some good exposure.
  3. Since I knew this was going to happen: Tssz - SFG Disappointments A Week Before SAGE
  4. Happy birthday d00d! Only one year from being legal, haha. Enjoy the day while it lasts!
  5. Every level will have a time attack mode, so eventually you'll be able to time attack whatever you want once things are released =). Interesting, I haven't heard that before. What reminds you of DKC? =P
  6. Yeah...personally I thought our best demo was at last SAGE >_>. I was wondering if Tristan would post something...kind of was afraid of that when making this post. EDIT: Actually...ET:CF was created in 2004. Since it's creation, it has been at the SAGE of 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008...so we've only really missed SAGE 2007 if I'm not mistaken. I don't know how you've missed it all those times =/.
  7. I know there are some people out there who were wondering if Emerald Ties would be appearing at SAGE this year. I want to confirm that as of right now, Emerald Ties will not be present at SAGE. It was a hard decision that the whole team discussed for a couple of days, but in the end we decided that rushing out a demo would not be in the best interest of the game. I'm sorry to those of you who are disappointed by this. The team has had very busy work schedules and/or personal issues occurring this summer and we have not accomplished enough to participate. This is not due to any part of the team in particular, just as a collective whole real life has been demanding. Instead of rushing something out in a week's time or entering the same demo as last SAGE, we have decided to take our time and make sure we are satisfied with what we will release. I am of the belief that re-releasing an old demo just for the sake of being in SAGE is a waste of the players' time who expect new content. Our current target is to release a new demo by the end of the summer. During SAGE we will try to get up some new screenshots to at least show you guys something. Again, I'm sorry to those of you who were looking forward to seeing Emerald Ties at SAGE. We want to give you all a really fun experience that doesn't feel rushed nor lacks that level of polish you're used to seeing. I hope you can understand and respect our decision. Either way, enjoy this SAGE! I'm sure there will be many great games in attendance this year =).
  8. Don't get me started on Mac. XP is, in my opinion, old, outdated, and less secure than both Vista and 7. 7 is better than XP. Will it make a Mac user turn back? No, probably not. Maybe you can change my opinion of Mac and it's users, but when their heads are stuck so far up Apple's and Steve Jobs' ass I can't take anything they say seriously. Mac is a good OS (albeit, it has trouble with games). Anyways, sorry to derail the thread. Back on topic, I think Windows 7 is scheduled for release in October last I heard, I'm very excited!
  9. Can you feel me glaring from all the way over here? Haha, it's alright, not a game for everyone. To be honest, I never really got into any of the Metroid games. I'm sure they are good, but I just prefer the fantasy styled Zelda adventure game to sci-fi. Environment is a big factor for me. I fall for tons of games that have magic, summons, and swords (see love for Golden Sun)
  10. Honestly, Nintendo did announce some things (like the Mario games) that caught my attention, but when I heard about Golden Sun DS, I honestly stopped caring about everything else. I've wanted another Golden Sun game for ages, and now I will be getting one. That's all I care about, their press conference was a success in my opinion. Now if I can just get more screens and videos of it, that'd make my day.
  11. Interestingly enough, all the quad-cores that AMD makes support virtualization, as far as I can see. So as long as you don't get a Sempron (which I'm pretty sure are all low end single cores), you'll have virtualization with AMD.
  12. Two more years of college for me...haha, then I'll be done with my CS degree as well =)
  13. Windows 7 feels, on the whole, more snappy thanks to the reworking of how the OS handles locks on the screen for drawing with GDI. But I agree with Epon, it both looks and feel better. I loaded up Vista since I needed to get back to that OS to look at something and I just didn't like it, I couldn't stand it. 7 is a winner in my opinion. =) By the way DW, I find WMP to be plenty stable and easy to use for just listening to a random set of songs every once in awhile. I use MPC for most of my other viewing needs though, so I hear you for the most part. I don't find anything inherently wrong with WMP though, MPC just tends to be faster and easier for viewing things like MKVs with subtitles and multiple audio streams.
  14. I've been using 7 since the beta came out and I've been gaming on it. I've experience no awkward slow downs or other issues to complain of. It's just as good as my XP install was and I feel that it's faster than Vista. That makes sense to a degree...XP Mode works off of virtualization technology, thus your processor should have to support virtualization. While I know MS could have opted to use binary translation methods instead, I think this would be a good incentive for Intel to make VT a more common feature on lower-end processors. Besides, they're still giving away XP for free...so, I don't know, I feel like they have no obligation to make this feature at all. Maybe it was easier for them to rely on VT hardware, cut them some slack, they didn't have to offer XPM. I personally think it's very generous of MS. And don't count on it being backwards compatible with XP apps? If it worked in Vista, it will almost certainly work in 7. If it didn't work in Vista, there's a chance it might work in 7. I don't get why you're saying don't count on XP apps being backwards compatible...a lot were with Vista and are with 7. Nope, shouldn't be. It's a little strange, I'll admit, however by that time the RTM version should be out and they'll want people to buy the real copy. I think they could have started that process a month or two later, but it's their choice. Hey, it's better than being totally locked out after the expiration date is up.
  15. I'm currently on build 7077. I have the RC ready to install, but I'm waiting until my finals are over to convert. I'm going to do a fresh install, so I want to have the proper time to do it. Windows 7 has impressed me on many levels. While it is pretty much Vista 2.0 under the hood, the OS is now much more responsive due to the fact that the 7 can manage GDI locks for applications much better...no more global locks that prevent other applications from drawing to the screen. But anyways, I've thoroughly enjoying 7 since build 7000, I don't have much to complain about at all.
  16. Facebook lied to me. It said his birthday was today in my events, and now it says it's Tuesday...haha, fml. Anyways, this will serve as a 3 day celebration of this sexy man's birthday instead!
  17. Unless you lied about your birthday on Facebook and I'm recalling what you told me before terribly wrong, today should be your birthday. Happy birthday! I hope you get lots of gifts and happiness! :aparty:
  18. I've got two DS's. My DS Lite and my DS Phat. Granted I never use my Phat any more, but buying the DSi means I need to replace my R4 which has worked on every game I've wanted to play. On top of that, I just ordered a slot-2 card, so that would totally kill that purchase for me. I play more GBA games than DS games now-a-days =/.
  19. Does anyone still have the HWA 2c beta installation file? Looks like Clickteam is moving servers and the setup file hasn't made it over to the new server yet. Can someone upload it?
  20. I honestly didn't find CAMP that amusing... =/
  21. I posted about this a few weeks ago...Old topic. I haven't heard much about it since then...I thought maybe it had been contained by now, I guess not. As an admin, you should be able to kill services though. I'd try using Hijackthis and removing the service entry that way and see how that works. It might just recur and leave you with the same issue. Other than that, I'd try using IceSword to locate that file you couldn't find. It's great for really sneaky stuff like this. I know you're pretty savvy when it comes to this stuff, so I hope this information isn't just repeating what you already know >_>.
  22. I couldn't even bring myself to play the first one...it made me cry inside =(
  23. Sorry to hear that you caught it, HuePow00...it seems like a nasty critter. I scanned and I didn't have it, so that was good. As gsoft said, you probably could have recovered your data with a livecd of some sort. I'd also suggest getting an "undeleter" program. I've used Recuva in the past. It can do an okay job. Maybe you're lucky enough to be able to recover some stuff: http://www.recuva.com/. It's a free tool, it can't hurt to try.
  24. @Kain: It can do a bunch of nasty things. It seems like it's trying to steal passwords (by brute force) and open up backdoors for other possible viruses and trojans. Here's another decent write-up on the bugger: http://computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&taxonomyName=Security&articleId=9126349&taxonomyId=17&pageNumber=1 Haha, and yes, XP has a service pack 3 =P
