  1. ELO, many years ago in Northampton. It was pretty epic.
  2. Euan knows me too well! Thanks everyone. Spent the day yesterday in various pubs in the village, has been great fun. Will pop by more often now as I've been balancing the celebrations with work and college, as well as a graphics interim crit on Wednesday. It does mean I'll have loads of work to show though! Many more thanks.
  3. 'Tidied' the thread, suggest you be careful what you say BF. And basically, what everyone else has said. Hope everything turns out alright.
  4. True_Dude: I asked Euan why he was using that shape so much, he says it's because the classic games did it. If you look at Sonic 1 you'll see what he means: I hadn't even noticed until he mentioned it.
  5. Time spent varies, some of them (the three kids, first few portraits) are a bit rushed so about 20-40 minutes, then for the more detailed stuff (old bloke, tramp, car) an hour or two. Just depends what I feel like doing really. More stuff also in the first post!
  6. Thanks for the comments, actually managed to keep it up so far so I've added a few more. Hopefully more soon too.
  7. Been really busy with college recently but managed to get a couple of photos of what i've been up to. Should be able to get a few more once I get all the work back. A digger! Painted in acrylics on A3. Really poor photo of the logo thing i'm doing in graphics, havn't been able to get the file home because we're using illustrator on the macs. 'Tis for a snowboarding/fashion company. Quick design for a tag, doubt it'll get used. Loads of old stuff:
  8. It's a game about a blue hedgehog who runs about smashing tv's and fighting a bloke who looks like an egg, seriously, we don't care if the story doesn't make sense. Stop acting as if it's supposed to be the greatest literary genius ever written. Anyway, thanks for the comments and such, i'm a bit late here but everything said will be taken into consideration and such. The mix with retro sonic is real, and from what i've seen from mr. taxman already over msn, it's going to be worth it. ;D

  11. Basically what Euan said, only I'm going to plug them even more because I feel like it. - Stormy In The North, Karma In The Southhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptJ41p577YM - I Wanna Go Where The People Go - Vanilla Radiohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxMuKq9FXjg - Top of the World And that's just The Wildhearts, Gingers solo work I actually prefer at the moment just 'cause of how varied it can be, and if you don't mind shelling out a few quid buy these, I'm pretty sure there will be something you'll like on them: http://www.amazon.com/Yoni-Ginger/dp/B000KEGCQM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-2759582-1134220?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1174854585&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Valor-del-Corazon-Ginger/dp/B000CR5QB4/ref=sr_1_1/103-2759582-1134220?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1174854603&sr=8-1
  12. Alright, I wouldn't normally butt in a little discussion such as this, but I think its worth backing up what Starkrafter is saying. Of course people draw cartoons, I myself love the style that Mike has going at Penny Arcade, however I'm pretty damn sure he'll have plenty of life drawing experience, it's just we never get to see it. Now, I spent a few months at college studying general art as well as about a year of teaching myself, mostly life drawing, and there's no way you can appreciate how helpful it is until you do it on a regular basis for a few weeks (keep doing cartoons and stuff if you want to focus on that, but try and do life drawing on the side). You'll notice the difference even if you just fill an A4 page sketching things around the house each day. I focused mainly on portraits and gestures, as well as the skeleton and muscle layout, okay it's not too interesting, but after a month or so I was able to come up with fluent poses and sketches for people without reference, without them looking at all stiff. (Yeah, I wanted to be a concept artist, I don't know what made me change my mind, but SKs got me thinking about starting it up again. ;P) This isn't like, a rule though, you don't have to follow our advice, and maybe SK sounded a bit arsey when explaining it, but trust us, it's so helpful.
  13. Some workings of today due to shite weather, it's going pretty well. And that sounds pretty magical hapi-san. Look forward to playing it. ;P
  14. Hot bat action, did you know bats could fire lasers? I didn't.
  15. After closing a thread of his:
  16. Boing! Okay, to answer some questions and stuff, that engine test Midi posted, as Euan said is two years old and mostly his work so don't judge it, the new one has been cunningly created by myself in MMF2 and should hopefully do the game justice. (Thanks for posting it though Midi, it's fun to see how different my engine is to his.) The zone in these screenshots is Hidden Palace just before the Death Egg crashes in the floating island, much like in Sonic 3&K the game will be majorly different depending on which character you are, with a different start to the game for each, different routes and even bosses throughout, and of course different endings. As shown, the Nack Drill boss can't be accessed playing as Tails or Sonic, it's also just a midzone fight, so don't expect the actual zone bosses to be cheap rip offs of old bosses. ;P I'm looking forward to releasing it now that it's coming together so well, there's so much stuff I want everyone to see.
  17. Rover Metro 1.4Gsi, it gets me from A to B, so don't laugh. ;P Not bothering with anything other than new speakers and a cd player/ipod connector, since it's not really the sort of car to be 'pimped'. I'm just saving up for a nice second car instead.
  18. I don't know if your problem was solved, I don't feel like reading the thread, but my Sonic 360 doesnt exist anymore, I lost everything remotely related to it. Sonic XG is much better anyway.
  19. http://www.penny-arcade.com/ http://www.leasticoulddo.com/ http://www.qwantz.com/ http://www.pbfcomics.com/ http://www.drmcninja.com/ That's all I read, never bother with CAD anymore, I don't know if Tim's getting worse or my humours changing, they're just not funny.
  20. I'm not sure if you're aware of the skew function in paint, since your slope method seems a tad long-winded when you can have it done instantly. Might be of help, -22 or -23 would be a 1:2 slope, -45 a 1:1 and -67 or -68 for 2:1. Though for 2:1 you'd be better off rotating it 90º first and using a horizontal skew. Hope that helps anyone who was unaware of it.
