  1. I wouldn't say this at all feels similar to freedom planet besides the special meter which other games have and handle the same. I saw a few pages back the same thing was mentioned but I don't see it. If anything these moves are straight out of Sonic with a special meter attached. Boost / Air Boost - Flight / Tailspin thing. So no I do not agree. I can however agree on the lack of polish. This game could either use an engine revamp or a complete change of engines and then porting everything over. The slopes are a bit broken which slows gameplay. The levels were good enough to me and while they can use more specific gimmicks, they're enjoyable enough.
  2. I REALLY liked the fact that you even have a mobile version. That's really cool and- since I played that version, that's the one I'll talk about. I'm not sure if this is my phone or the game but the framerate kept dropping and sometimes stayed very low, it only surprises me because I've ran emulated DS games before 3D and 2D which didn't have the problem. But on to the game! I really liked it, both characters played very well and it seems you fixed the jumping acceleration I believe because now jumping to other platforms is no longer hard to do. The special moves are a bit weak seeing as the meter refills REALLY slow unless collect coins. Everything plays great so far and seems very well put together. I did get a glitch where everything besides the tiles of the map turned into hitboxes though. All I saw were white flashing boxes for each thing, enemies, rings, player, and a couple more like springs. Some things I didn't like were the fact that roll still is pretty ineffective and the specials are pretty underwhelming (salamon to be more specific) and special recoveries are too long in my opinion. Gameplay could use s'more "spice" but it's fine and the levels could use some lengthening but since there's so many it's okay. edit: Oh yea mobile d-pad could use some enlarging. Not the actual graphic but the touch radius or whatever.
  3. In my opinion Colors was also a bore. Pretty cool environments and music but lacking story and gameplay. While Boom seems to have cut some things and just was a lacking story- I found it's stuff a lot better (story wise) than anything we had recently. And the gameplay, in my opinion, wasn't bad, just painfully average to the point where it was lack luster, combined with shortcomings in the dev department (the glitches) made it a lot worse than it is at face value. If I had a Wii U I'd probably enjoy it but it really feels like they went for the bare minimum with everything. Got combat finished, didn't add any extras to it. Got Sonic and Co's moveset out the way, never expanded on them or gave them upgrades (same with combat). So yeah. I don't know with this one.
  4. Putting aside the fact of the generic-ish graphics, I really like this. You actually added things to the engine! Something most GDK don't do. The level design also looks amazing.
  5. Same here. Well anyways, is there anything else on this game? Old gameplay footage, screens, concept art? I can't be bothered to search up more info on it (well.. thats a lie but) so if you could post anything else I'd be glad.
  6. Speed run by DarkspinesSonic of YouTube abnd Twitch: All objectives in less than 5 minutes.
  7. Sonic Boom is now listed on my DVR!

  8. 12 Days, cool. I don't think I can anything out but if I can make a little level to jump n' shoot man, could I submit? It's less of an actual game and more a demonstration of what else I can make is why I'm asking. I'm getting back into the groove of stuff, recently. So this would be a good inspiration to do more.
  9. This looks really awesome! It's cool to have it explained as I didn't know much about this. Very interesting stuff.
  10. RoL is Rise Of Lyric: Sonic Boom. But if this can make adventure gameplay, I'm sure it can reproduce that as well.
  11. I'm not sure but he might mean how the changes happened? Kinda. Like Freedom Planet changed things so it could be original and the same with this? I'm not sure if that's what he actually means or not though.
  12. Cool. So in this tech demo, is it editable? Or will it be an executable, with built-in variable editing? When should we be expecting to see it.
  13. Not trying to question your trustworthyness but do you have any more screens or production you could show us? Even stills (still pictures) could work but if I were to want to voice this, I'd need more proof my voice work isn't going to waste.
  14. This is made in Unity correct? Question, from the looks of your videos this plays very similarly to the Boost Era games. How easily would it be to tweak this to play closer to the Adventure games? Are we talking full out coding or just editing values?
  15. Oh that'd make sense. I believe it's that way on the Game Maker Community also but I'm also guessing that means our previous likes don't count towards rep.
  16. I noticed there's an up rep but not down. There might be a purpose for it, I'm not sure. Also maybe we could get the chatango from the main site to here? I'm not sure if you can delete messages from that but it seems like a win, win.
  17. Pretty much fully agree. I get why it was taken out but I don't think it was necessary.
  18. Looks really freaking nice. What does opening the picture do though? Maybe it's cause I'm on mobile. Nonessential great work.
  19. This looks so awesome! I really can't wait anymore! Now I just need to get a WiiU.
  20. I agree with the Rep thing. That's a really good idea. I never found the statuses to be too bad but I can see why they were removed. BUT- If there were a chat kinda thing on the forum itself that'd be cool, or even a shoutbox like you said. I don't know, just some ideas.
  21. Hi guys, I just wanted to start a topic that could be a general forum recommendation thread but not only that one that discusses current forum events and what we think of the changes and so on... If there is already a topic pertaining to this I'd more than be glad if this one was locked. So to start things off I'd like to discuss, well obviously, the current changes. No liking post and no status updates. Now while these may not belong on a forum and are more suited to social media something feels off now that it's gone. Of course, it wasn't there before when things first got started up but I think that it was a fine and comfortable part here. Now with chat being moved to the main site and the Skype group being disbanded, I thought it was a really good way to say in contact and ask questions that don't need there own topic and such. It also allowed for fun little things and stuff. Now it was bad when people would directly send out harmful comments to others but all in all I think it really worked. As for the like system, it was okay. It did cause people to stray away from actually leaving feedback but when people don't reply it was still a good way to show people did indeed like what they saw. Because I don't think not having it encourages much more posting either. This one is debatable though so I know that it's a 50/50 of it's actual usefulness but again. to me, it helped people see that there was a following of their projects even if people did have the time or just didn't want to leave a reply. Now, I could be wrong and they're just maintaining the forum and all this stuff will come back but just in case.
  22. That looks freaking amazing! As Riseodivi said. I'm a definite shoo in to get the next demo.
  23. The homing shield. But that hint made it too easy.
