  2. Hmmmm, why not mess around with some Caliente Carnival tiles? It's one level that is slightly more solid at the moment in my eyes, what with the carnival and western desert themes and such. Check out Jass's conceptual artwork for some ideas, as well as this little cactus design that can be expanded upon. I talked about orange and green colors similar to Wacky Workbench Past, though take that as you may. :B Sorry for scant resources on this, but I'd really like to see what ideas you could whip up for concerning tiles! EDIT - Oh, and symphonicgamescloud is remixing these tracks for Caliente Carnival, so these may provide inspiration...?
  3. Alrighty Mr. Piranha, after you mess around with those sprites for ComCav's badnik and such, I suppose you wouldn't be too against trying to work on some tiles for levels?

  5. From yesterday: Twitch-Switch I planned on having red "gills" (the spikes are gray) and a slightly pink coloration for the body. Think this. He's also facing forward like Transister, being immobile and merely activating electrical traps. Both have creepy white eyes, btw.

  7. Oh hey, your sprite is lookin' pretty smooth! Are you able to post this as actual size to see how it looks? You might want to smooth/shrink the gradient a bit with some more red, yeah. @Jass - Getting back to GG tiles after a bit o' cleanin', though outside distraction is becoming a recurring thing at the house. :B
  8. I graduated suckers, haha. I think my lack of speed in composing comes from that fact that being the designer for the level as well, I'm trying my best to fit the atmosphere and such...that, and I'm a perfectionist in a way. :x
  9. Hot damn guys, you work fast. I'm still working on a good fitting melody for CC, lol. I have to wonder, how do you musically-oriented folks go through the process? Also, I really dig this track by the by.
  10. I hope the credits going to be a medley like the other games; it'd be great to hear all the sound teams work in one song. That aside, I'm doing a bit 'o cleaning today, but all my [beta] GG tiles are going to be sent sometime soon, hopefully. In the meantime I'll be curious about seeing AstroPirahna's work and how he may contribute to the project aesthetics.
  11. Despite our earlier thoughts toward the soundtrack being put towards the backburner, it seems that everyone is already throwing their hat into the basket and pitching stuff regardless. As such, I think we need to figure out who exactly is working on what, or if people are going to share Zone music duties (as in, making music for one act, and another guy does another). From what I can tell so far: Green Gate - LoneEchidna Crystal City - LoneEchidna Frozen Foliage - Infinity_Alex Cave Complex - Geckoroverse Raindrop Ruin - LoneEchidna Caliente Carnival - Symphonicgamescloud Eternal Elevator - Faseeh Botanic Badnik - LoneEchidna I'm just counting what I've seen so far; I think we should sort this out before we make a mess and all, unless people are working behind the scenes and haven't informed me.

  13. Always facing forward; also, her "collar" and hair are the gray parts, whereas the rest is silver. Being a badnik she's made of metal, so don't forget the metal sheen and such.

Hmm...well, aside from looking at Jassbec's previous conceptual images for tile ideas, you could try your hand at the bagworm badnik shown here, or maybe even a Little Transister(which is colored silver and gray, with white eyes, BTW). Of course, I'm mainly interested in seeing your rendering skills and such right at the moment; obviously scaling and manipulable properties are important but I digress. I can try to critique to the best of my abilities; after all, no gain in scaring off young talent for either side! (Though I am somewhat new to this as well, so take that as you may) And no need to rush either! Take as much time as you feel you need.

  17. Hey now, I said I was doin' tiles, I never said you didn't do anything; in fact, you're likely doing the brunt of it all. XD I'm working on Green Gate tiles as we speak. Also, still working on my own songs for Cave Complex; I promise they'll be perfect for the level.(and I'll give the MIDI to Lone when I do).
  18. Pffffft, let me work on the actual level tiles and such before we get too off track on stuff like title screens. XD Concerning sects of the project, I do feel that our sound department is getting the most attention; of course, I might be the only one here in the project who can make tiles and such, who knows XD
  19. "Alright, time to work on Green Gate tiles! Now that I've figured out the perfect way to construct these tiles, all I need to do is...wait, what are you doing hand?" "Hand, stop." "Very funny hand, that's enough." "Stop it you son of a bitch!" "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" [seperate tiles are 32x32, four rows of four tiles fill 128x128. I suppose I just did these to present my current method. :B Well, that and the fact these aren't quite done; I need another tile color for one, and maybe some more details.]
  20. Thanks for these ideas, they'll help me flesh out further concepts for the level. The Transister mask and the dick move remake made me laugh my ass off. gooby plz Are we talking different individual tile layouts in the form of stuff like this, or...?
  21. Hey Jassbec, I'm prepared to work on [beta] level tiles and stuff, but I'd like to see if you have a preferred size for the tiles, in case Worlds is fidgety in that regard or etc. I'm gonna' start with Green Gate, btw.
  22. Decided to get some well-deserved practice and made shitty tiles for warmup. I'mma do more in the future, hopefully with some being much prettier and more relevant to the game. Also, I have the FL Studios demo on my laptop, and I can technically record my sounds in the wake of a disabled save option...buuuuuuuuuut...:x EDIT - Also, I REALLY should swap out this Sonic sprite for an older one. :B
  23. Alrighty, I've been following quite a few sprite tutorials, especially DerZocker's tilesprite tutorial, and I've been practing some tilework. I'll have some practice runs done soon, if Paint.net stops crashing on me. :x Also Jass, I've thought about it a smidge, and I'd like to see some ideas out of you for Cavern Complex, that are in conjunction with all the ones I've spewed out. You've had some really great ideas and concepts lately, and I'm rather smitten with them as of late.
  24. To quoth Retro, "Wonder if it's a Sonic & Knuckles scenario, where Eggman fooled them and they fight Sonic until the final stage. ". Vouching for Eggman, I'm really hoping we get ROBOT standard enemies though. I had no problem with Iblis spawn in Generations, if only because it was a one-time thing. But I want my robots dammit. And unique ones, too, per zone! Generation fixed that problem for the most part, it should keep it that way. And another thing, I hope the level themes are a lot more unique than they seem to be. If not, they better have some damn fine level aesthetics to make up for it. Of course, given how the game's world looks, I can't exactly state a proper demand atm. :x EDIT - Just dropping this off from Retro.
  25. Even after seeing these guys only in silhouette I'm pretty intrigued to see who they are. They seem far more unique than the characters we were receiving before Colors and perhaps Unleashed too. I'm especially curious about the pair on each side. What I wanna' know is, are these guys playing villain or simple NPC? It'd strike me as iffy if the former because of how well Eggman has been doing lately, but... EDIT- oh hai 100th post
