  1. Well...we could have two modes? Mode Antiquus, entirely 2D full on remake. Mode Novum, new gameplay in familiar zones? Is that feasible, TailsSena?
  2. Well, your call, you're programming this beaut. Perhaps we could merge it with Sonic Worlds for a 2D Sonic Engine for the StH-R but use it vanilla for MW?
  3. Well, the game is in 2D and translating a flat surface to 3D isn't the easiest. I was thinking we use it ala Sonic 4 Episode 2 to save backlash, y'know awesome 3d backgrounds but 2D gameplay.
  4. I love this. Though will we be using the Mode 7 for the entire StH-R or just to make the backgrounds fancy? I do look forward to using it for Mobius Warfare (need new name!) though :3
  5. ...erm, should we move to another thread or something? This IS BbBlair's Sonic the Hedgehog remake thread, let's not hijack it.
  6. Fair enough, I thought the lack of response about it was "let's do Mobius Warfare", so I was giving this concept to the community for it's use o3o Welp, never mind about that, <tries to block post with body>
  7. Well, we could go with my idea: instead of simply remaking Sonic 1, expand it to include all of South Island. I've always wanted to do it, but lack technical knowhow. List of levels and games from South Island: Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit) Green Hill Zone, grassy plains with lakes and waterfalls. This Zone has appeared in several other Sonic games as well. Marble Zone, ancient ruins half-sunk in lava. Spring Yard Zone, an urban area with pinball bumpers and springs. Labyrinth Zone, an underwater maze. Star Light Zone, a highway-like city area. Scrap Brain Zone, a heavily industrialized area which serves as Robotnik's base. Sonic the Hedgehog (8-bit) Green Hill Zone, sporting the same verdant fields as in its other appearences. Bridge Zone, a long bridge over a river. Jungle Zone, a rain forest with wild rivers and vines. Labyrinth Zone, the same submerged ruins as in the 16-bit game. Scrap Brain Zone, the Doctor's industrial stronghold. Sky Base Zone, a large, weaponised zeppelin made by Robotnik. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit) Underground Zone, a volcanic mountain, once used as a mine. Sky High Zone, the top of a mountain that reaches the clouds. Aqua Lake Zone, a lake surrounded by fountains and pillars. Green Hills Zone, very like the one from the previous games, but with normal trees instead of palm trees. Gimmick Mt. Zone, one of Robotnik's metallic bases, apparently set inside a mountain. Scrambled Egg Zone, a mountain filled with large pipes, and another of Robotnik's bases. Crystal Egg Zone, a transparent crystal base of Robotnik's. Can only be accessed if you have all six Chaos Emeralds. Sonic Chaos: Turquoise Hill Zone, a grassy hillside area, much like Green Hill Zone. Gigalopolis Zone, a sprawling urban area with various passages. The Game Gear version spells it as "Gigapolis Zone". Sleeping Egg Zone, a mostly flat region of plains, with Eggman's self-portrait adorning parts of the background. Mecha Green Hill Zone, Robotnik's version of the Green Hill Zone, with deathtraps strewn everywhere. Aqua Planet Zone, a group of ruins partially submerged in water. Despite the name, there is actually very little water. Electric Egg Zone, another of Robotnik's many large bases. Perhaps we could expand the Sonic the Hedgehog levels to make secret level exits or simply give a choice between the original level design (GHZ-1A) that leads along the normal path (leads to Marble Zone) and a newly made level design (GHZ-1B) that leads to the other levels (in this case, alters to Bridge Zone) Source Just my thoughts...Someone owes me a penny...
  8. Says who? Actually, I've always wanted to do a Sonic: South Island game, which would automatically include Sonic 1 but several others. If a team gets together to make it, I'd love to direct o3o Since no team will, however, I'm not going to direct, am I? :L Depending on the quality, the latter...
  9. Ah, the feet, I was worried you were talking about how they don't face the direction that're pointed at 100%. Personally, I love the 1 pixel closer look as it adds a sense of depth, but if a majority agree with you I'll be happy to remove it ^^
  10. Ah, I was wondering that. How would you recommend the perspective?
  11. Well, I shaded them with the idea of an outline-like appearance so they won't blend into any potential backgrounds. Like why Sonic's blue was made darker in Sonic 1 since he blended into the water of Green Hill Zone. I'm also trying to go for a sort of cartoon feel, where the characters and the Badniks all pop out from the background so you don't feel like you've been cheap-shotted unless they're intended to hide from you in the scenery.
  12. Mmk, this has been eating at me for a while. To be blunt, what do people think of this style: Don't mind the pose of Sonic, I'm trying to find a suitable alternate to the Sonic 3 sprite redo that's there. Sonic is not an easy hedgehog >.>
  13. Attempt at drawing Bass. Keyword: Attempt. Doodle of Zekyuram, or Complete Kyurem, whichever you wanna call it. A request I did. <plottingly plotting of plots> Zero and X, Zero-styled X designs :L Random doodle Hmm... Gonna need people to design Mavericks...my designs suck...
  14. Second one looks too...flat on the top of her head, for best I can describe. Why not do a mix of the two? Like: but decent? Edit: Gah, why's it done that? I'll fix it...
  15. Nice, though I'm still not a fan of the Death Egg...no offence, it just doesn't look right to me :.
  16. Noticed the moment I read the bottom half |3 God I feel like an idiot now...
  17. Aww, I don't have an account there...I'll have to make one and get that microphone from my brother back =P
  18. Both Death Eggs are the same: the Death Egg crashed on Angel Island at the end of Sonic 2, hence how he got there and had a badnik army ready by the time Sonic got there. His robots aren't wood. =P The only continuity I know of with two different Death Eggs is Sonic the Comic (never seen an Archie comic, so I'm unsure...)
  19. ...Y'know, ignore that and if you'll look at the Little Planet: Robotnik's rebuilding the Death Egg. Wait, does that mean Sonic the Fighter's Death Egg II and Sonic Battle's Death Egg III are actually III and IV?
  20. Thanks 1LT Worm. I'll look into your advice. Btw, I've decided I may as well try and figure out a way to make that Wars of Mobius game thing. First place I'm gonna try and do is South Island - Green Hill Zone (Robotnik Empire Occupation). Do you think this: is an accurate representation and a fair area for a battlefield? 5-13 Post: Hey look! Non-Sonic drawings! It's the apocalypse!!! D: For Project: Petrock <plottingly plotting a villainous plot of Zero> Bass designs for both current, armourless and original selves. And finally, I'm considering, since Strife mentioned on another forum he would love to play an arthack with the MMZ style replaced by the MMX style, doing just that once S:COut is complete. What do you think? <I'll merge with above as soon as another comment arrives>
  21. There, should've fixed it. Anyway, the pencil I used ran out, so I decided to doodle something with a new one to get used to it. In the process, I got an idea out my head: Simply put, I wanna make a tactical game with several factions fighting in several wars mentioned and wll be mentioned in my new comic's universe: the Robotnik Empire's occupation of South Island is one of those that would be displayed as Scrap Brain Zone was a G.U.N. base before Robotnik took over and mangled it into the polluted factory you see. The gameplay would consist of a isometric "chessboard" view that you send groups you custom create from the HQ around. Depending on the Level of Training the troops get or the AI programmed in, when a conflict occurs they would do several things: L1 would simply stand and shoot ala the Shadow the Hedgehog Soldiers, while L5s would find cover and coverfire each other as they push forward, think more tactically, basically. The problem is, however, I can't program in MMF2 for crap. Sope, faux dream. Think I should continue using that pencil or should I try for something else?
  22. Hey, tis what's on the manual =P Yeah, I do, but I'm paranoid and it's got too much information for forum people ^^; sorry.. Hey look, second page...
  23. Naw, I simply typed starfield into google and chose a public domain image. I rearranged it alittle after trying to figure out what the stars would look like from Mobius (seeing as the box shows it's an Earth COLONY, aka NOT Earth =P) and edited it in.
  24. Thank you very much, Flaria. Now, because I've been unable to get to a point of comfort with my digital inking, but want to get this thing out soon, I've decided to Handdraw everything and simply digitally add the speech. Some people like the handdrawn look, so I'm gonna throw my bets on that. So here it is, page one of a badly drawn comic:
  25. Guessing none, then? Well then, amma ask something silly: would anyone care to assist me by digitally inking my comics? Nothing permanent unless you want, but I'd rather have a comic put out sooner with assistance then later with me learning to quickink digitally. (Don't worry, I'll merge this and the above post once someone else has commented.) And here's a couple of things so this post is relevant to this thread: Above, digitally coloured and avatar'd: Bored doodle...in Minecraft: From S:COut's thread: And a fandoodle of Freedom Planet and the inevitable "Planet Freedom" from the Sonic OVA joke: (I'm aware her eyes aren't focused on Sonic, my bad)
