  1. That's a pretty darn good estimation right there. Wouldn't sonic be dead by then? I mean the official products
  2. PCZ, I gotta say "if" their goal was taking an example of SEGA's rage inducing pr job, I kinda find that hard to believe. This is not a profitable game. Their not aiming for profit or anything. They just simply want to fulfill a dream that is never going to be fulfilled officialy. Of course it's nice to get a lot of attention in doing so and feel proud about it. But i'm sure it's not "bad attention" they were aiming for. I don't get how bad attention is a better thing than good attention, how a playable demo or a longer footage would have been a worse thing? But what they ended up giving was just dissapointing after the way they hyped it up as one of sonicretro's project that is gonna blow away the community. As i've read at sonicretro. The countdown was indeed going to offer a demo, as you can see in one of the pictures saying alpha release I know making a big deal out of this is kinda stupid. But to put it simply. When your among a community that loves sonic, and promise beautiful things about the said character ending up with so little, it's gonna get some people upset. There are some fans that don't really care about official products and rather look forward to what fans have to offer. I am one of those. I'd rather play sonic time twisted or sonic fan remix than anything sonicteam has delivered the last decade. I support all you guys who intentionally or unintentionally still satisfy the forgotten fanbase.
  3. I'm more of a night person anyway, since I work at noons and evenings. But I did stay up longer than I normally do. I guess expecting what they planned to deliver wasn't a good idea . I just thought that sonicretro wasn't the place to go all sonic 4 with it's own community.
  4. I gotta be honest. I stayed up all night for this. Knowing sonicretro and their general reaction towards SEGA's products and PR job with sonic 4, I was sure that it was going to blow us(or at least me) away like they have always done in the past. Fucking pricks, that's all I got to say. A countdown huh, for this shit? As someone else said at the retro forums. This was not countdown worthy, at all. Anyway, what has been shown does not impress me either. Sonic fan remix on the other hand, that was some impressive stuff.

  6. I also want to give props to the title screen art. I always think their unoriginal or ugly done in other fangames. Your models on the title screen are spot on and all of them stand in a way that suits them excellently. It's nice to have a good game but it's even better when the characters are portrayed in a perfect way too.
  7. Beautiful. Really impressive. From art to sprites to overall design. I am looking forward to this. I like how you use knuckles chaotix sprites but also your own sprite modifications, especially tails's victory stance. Great stuff. Be sure to polish it up as much as you can. You got my support on this one.
  8. Ah I see, guess I didn't. I apologies for misunderstanding. ------------------------------------- The model looks allright, however if it were me i'd give it few adjustments on the quills. I'd make the lower quill(s) a bit shorter and the highest one a slight adjustment in the curve of the quill and also make it slightly shorter. It especially looks awkward in this pic. Hope this'll end up getting a playable demo in the future

  10. Homing attack in any 2d sonic game is always a big turn off for me. It's not that I consiously decided to, I just don't like it. I never liked it even before the the big riot that came with s4e1. The gameplay that comes with it just bores me. Anyway, I do think your project "looks" interesting.

  12. Ah that's weird. The C key brings up a the password thingy. Seems I was pressing the wrong button. Anyway. This may be one of the best fangames i've played. But I can see it's still unfinished. What I love the most are the special stages from sms version. Smart choice because I love them!! It seems obvious that people are immediatly going to compare this to the original. Other than the special stages, I like the feel of sonic's acceleration. It's much faster. I like the music. It may not resemble the original "style" at all, but it's still great to listen to. The physics need tweaking. Loops don't work the way they should. Sonic slows down when he rolls and the feel of gravity isn't there all the time. Some obvious things like the animations needing more sprites, like wallpushing need to be added. I prefer the original sprite and it seemed that he was also missing the falling animation. At some points I was feeling as if I liked it more than the original, just the few things I pointed out kind of got in the way.

  14. I especially love how he invented this wall running mechanic and built the level design around that idea. Really original and intuitive.
  15. Lol you mad? That song is crazy . I like it. Anyway Oddwarg, I haven't tried the newest built yet (the one that should git rid of the bugs) but I might later this evening. I recommended it to a friend in a chatbox some time ago. He loved it, but that last part kind of threw him off as well lol. I kind of expected the last build to have some kind of explenation to why that last part happens. If that still isn't the case, i'd love to get a pm about it.

  18. I guess I do understand where you're coming from. I don't like the DS version of sonic colors at all tbh . Just don't think sonic rush adventure is that much better is all.
  19. ^I don't know exactly why you are recommending rush adventure because it's a longer game. If you ask me, it's basically the same but it feels longer because of those tedious boat sequences. Calling the game longer because some weird stretching mechanic that doesn't belong in a 'sonic game'(just like how some people call colors short because of the werehog) is silly tbh. Rush adventure in the end is a 'hold right to win' game in it's purest form. The missions are rather frustrating than they are "fun". I am a perfectionist so I complete everything I can so whenever there are things I dislike doing I still force myself to, that was also the case with rush adventure's mission mode. The bosses are the only thing i'd agree with to recommend them rush adventure instead. But I'd say overall sonic rush 1 and now colors are the better two.

  21. Hey Oddwarg, one question though. I forgot about it last time because all the good things about the game kind of overwayed it. But whatsup with that last scene where sonic and tails..... you know? I found it kind of disturbing tbh XD. Other than that i'm glad to hear there is going to be more. It's nice to have some variation in the sonicfangame community. I really like your game man. About Limbo, if you have an xbox360. I recommend it wholheartly to you. It's 15 bucks so that's another thing.
  22. Easily best 3d sonic game ever made. I finished it, got 180 medals. Now it's S ranking time and still love it. Normally I can determine wether I like a game or not based on how I feel about it after a few days. Well, unlike sonic 4, I want to replay it so much. S ranking is gonna be tough since it's not just mindlesly running to the goal. It's most telling that getting good ranks in Colors is more a matter of finding secrets than getting to the goal really fast. The time remaining bonus is usually insignificant compared to the points earned using wisps and reaching bonus areas.
