    Chat forums are a great way to grow your community and make them feel at home. 

     

    So, I guess since we're a new forum, we should get to know each other. Hi, I'm Floofy. I lead the Sonic Infinite fangame project, and design websites.

     

    I use MMF2, so if you guys need any help with that, I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand.

  3. What you have there is usually best.

    If you really want to, you could compress sounds too...

    But including external files is almost never necessary, and thus not a very good idea.

    I would compress sounds, but sound is really important to me. I like to keep things sounding crisp ;3

  4. Well, it's been QUITE some time since I updated this topic.

    I just want to let you all know that I'm not dead, and I'm rebuilding BlazefireLP's engine. It's not that it's a bad engine, but my additions in the Infinityengine4 weren't agreeing with it.

    So to remedy this, I stripped everything down, kept the homing and the grinding (after some modifications to both of them), and rebuilt it.

    Infinity Engine 5 is running super smooth.

    The framerate in my last engine tanked. A lot. That's because I had so much glut in the events, that it chugged, and struggled to run smoothly.

    V5 is not only more optimized, but it looks a bit nicer too. I have separate animations for most of the actions, so Sonic looks a bit more fluid, and the resolution is a tad bit higher than last time too.

    I'll do a video update once I have a test level ready, but until then, you can look at these GIFs I posted on my Tumblr.

    As you can see, the walljumping looks a bit better than it did in the last engine, as it has more animations and effects put into it.

    AND, I've added a bonus score system for performing action chains. Right now it's only for homing attacks, but I hope to implement it for rail chains, and other bonuses, ala SA2.

    I used to use it for silly things, or anything I found amusing really. But I'll try to be posting at least one update on the game every day.

    So that's about it, I'm looking forward to working with everyone again, and I hope I can make something you'll all enjoy.

    Edit- ALSO, I made a lot of changes to the sound effects, so personally, I think it sounds a lot nicer.

  5. Oh gosh. This is seriously one of the most polished fangames I think I've ever played. Like really. Everything is super smooth, responsive, looks AND sounds great. Really top notch work!

    To be honest, when I read "Salom Adventure" I sorta rolled my eyes, as most fancharacter games are super subpar. This however, is absolutely amazing.

    I subscribed to your youtube so I can stalk your development.

    I'm really looking forward to playing the finished product. :3

  6. Does anyone have the menu sounds from Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic Heroes/Sonic 4? I can't seem to find them, and the only ones I found was a brawl menu mod. D:

    I was pretty sure the menu sounds were in the heroes pack.

    I don't know where to find them if not. I know for certain that the sonic free riders menu sounds are available for download, the menu sfx from that game are pretty decent as an alternative.

  7. What kind of object is the score counter? An active, a counter, or a score object? Each would be handled very differently.

    I'm not sure exactly, I know that the visual for the score is a counter, but I'm not sure if something is going on in the background, and then setting the counter to that number.

  8. I've heavily modified the sonic worlds engine. I'm almost done, but I can't for the life of me figure out how the scoring is handled. Would it be in a separate section or what?

    I checked the rings, as the score goes up by 100 on each ring collected, but the events don't touch on scoring at all.

    If someone could resolve this soon, it'd be much appreciated.

  9. Update MMF2. The newest build of the regular version includes HWA features.

    It includes DirectX 8 and 9 runtimes, as well as the ability to change sprite effects (like add, and semi-transparent) from within the runtime.

  10. This has been been bugging me for quite some time, I always hear everyone talking about HWA, but my searches reveal no results as to what it is, or where to download it.

    Could anyone offer me some of their knowledge on the subject?

I haven't actually attempted it, nor has anyone been able to help me, but in theory, you should have a server that sends the co-ordinates and action values of the other players to all the people playing. You would use the co-ordinates to move an object to that spot, and the action values to tell it what animation to play.

    Also all the items in your stage would need to have some way to be altered simultaneously for all the clients.

    I'm not actually sure what plugin you would even use. Good luck though.

    Here goes,every single frame from S1 and S2,aswell are some useful ones from CD and S3K are there.(Please tell me if I missed any from the first two games!)

    In other words,more than it needs to be completely playable.

    Critscism is welcome,if there's any.
