I guess the spamfest was more like a riot against the staff, where they were mostly all guilty about it since they weren't saying anything but removing updates and posts, which in exchange only made people angrier and made them spam more,etc. But I mean, if those issues with the staff didn't happen in the first place, I doubt there wouldn't really a problem with statuses in that regard. It would be fantastic if there was another kind of status system that archives stuff, everybody would win, lol. Also, I dislike facebook much like anyone else here really, but borrowing some elements from it isn't so much of a bad thing.
  2. If I remember correctly, the statuses were being deleted as a certain topic being talked about was being avoided by staff. If it doesn't help moderating, then why delete them in the first place? I liked statuses, they were cool.
  3. Well, things go out of control for a reason, keep that in mind. And yes, I'm aware it doesn't show up, that's why I'm asking. There's no reason as to why it shouldn't pop up, that's what's making me concerned. It got deleted/hidden when the issue was going on (for some stupid reason), then went up again when the site was up. And now it's not there, it's been like that for over a week. I did edit the OP to write the announcement that Overture was leaving the site, I don't know if that has to do anything with it, but if it does, I did not request the thread to be deleted nor hidden and I should have been asked first. EDIT: I really hope it was just an error with the system.

Well, those chaotic situations wouldn't have happened if the staff had handled the issue that happened not long ago better, I'm pretty sure it DID have something to do with it or at least heavily influenced the decision as it they got removed right after the site was up again. But whatever, that's just what I think of it, more from an user's point of view. That doesn't sound like a good idea, lol. Also
  5. I've been wondering, where did the Overture thread go? The like and update systems were fine, there was no need to remove them. If having updates is redundant, then can we make a thread about how we had spaghetti this afternoon or what game should we purchase? How about a thread talking about how much we like a song? The Like system was great because you can show your support by simply clicking a button. It's better than a bunch of posts portraying the same "looks good" kind of message, which at the end, really ends up as messages making a thread larger than it should be and making important posts farther away from each other with repetitive messages between them. A like was more efficient and if someone wants to make a more elaborate response to something, they will and it has been shown multiple times. (e.g. Overture, Spark TEY, screenshots thread, etc.) In short, I don't like this. Doesn't seem like a good change.

  9. I tend to do logos as I find them fun to do and they're a nice art exercise. So here's a bunch of logos I've made, they're ordered from oldest to newest. (If you don't want me showing any of your logos I've made for any of your projects, please say so and I'll take it/them down).
  10. The Hedgehog Engine is a lightning engine, not a physics engine. The physics are handled by Havok.
  11. I enjoy both Rush games almost equally but I prefer the original because hideki-fucking-naganuma. Seriously, that guy's a fantastic musician.
  12. Chrono Adventure was a fantastic game and definitely my favorite of your fangames. One of the reasons AtS and BtS managed to be so incredibly popular is because it had an amazing professional quality and quite ambitious soundtrack, they also followed traditional Sonic mechanics unlike Chrono Adventure, and they were also COMPLETE fangames. The soundtrack did help those games get "advertised" a lot more. What I think your games might've benefited from is more development time and testing. I know you like to be a one man studio, but maybe a couple of people that can help you out on art, programming, and design wouldn't be too bad of an idea, getting a small team could benefit you. (It's just a suggestion, you don't have to listen to a word of what crazy guy Jass has to say, lol.)
  13. Yes, I do want spark to be a thing, it has an enormous amount of potential to be a great game. I'd personally say go for either 2 or 3 and spend some more time developing the game. As a developer, I think that one should try to make their products the best you can, I know you might want to move on, but with that attitude your products will be lacking in quality. You should also attempt to give Spark a redesign, and rework the power-up system. As a follower of your work, you scrapping this would be very disappointing. Don't settle for mediocrity or lacklusterness Lake, I'm sure you can do better, I believe you can. You should also conciser a new name for your project that fits more with the entire mechanics of the game with the power-ups and stuff...I don't have any other ideas though...Spark N' Slash, I dunno have a random game name generator, you might find something cool, maybe. http://videogamena.me/ or just keep the name.

  16. Yo Toffy, try using the edit function instead of double posting. And If you don't have enough material to start a thread, there's always the screenshots thread to show what you're working on. I'm also going to be that guy and say that no one is going to join your "collab" team with such low amounts of content to show as threads like these tend to be pretty common and usually not taken seriously. Perhaps when you have more things to show you can make a thread about it again and spark some interest about it. Just something to keep in mind.

  19. @Lake I do enjoy playing this a lot more than I did playing the version at SAGE, those things you added really helped the game IMO. However, there are still plenty of things that bother me, such as dying still being buggy as hell, dropped abilities not colliding with the ground and making you pretty much lose them, it's really annoying. About the power-ups, I do like them but I think maybe making you able to store them for when you want to use them and switch between them would be a good idea since once you lose it you would need to find another one, making you try to take care of the power-ups and giving them some sort of importance.
