  1. That's done with, we're back on with ATS now, I can't wait to see what Storm Station is like.

ummm... Isn't the thumbnails of the songs associated with them on soundcloud screenshots of the level? Plus I'm pretty sure there's a part in one of the trailers on youtube...

Either way, I'm so psyched for this to come out! I don't care if I got 11 days of school left, I will play it and watch my grades plummet xD

Actually, most of my teachers let my do what ever I want in class so it doesn't matter! xD

  2. Oh god that menu music! I'm just gonna have the menu open in the background just to have that playing! xD

On the subject of glitches, and a little off topic, I know this is way late but:

I found this in BtS an hour ago when flying off a ramp into the ceiling in Lost Levels Act 1. The music playing in the background is the S3 boss music, and the player is trapped in the wall on the top right corner of the screen.

    Just thought it was interesting.

  3. Make it blink, but pause it realistically.

The font could work with what's going on; how I look at things is that everything must compliment each other to pull it all together. The font used for the description of the highlighted option seems a little squashed to me.

Also if you were to change up the park background, change it do a screenshot or animation of one of the levels.

  4. @Highwire: xD Oh I know it's early on. And the way you just phrased it, it seems like your gonna do some DLC... Do I have to pay for that?

@Dahog: He previously said, like in the previous update, that he mapped out what stories there will be.

  5. Updated the engine a little bit. Glitchy flash light is glitchy

    Things that would be nice:

    (just ideas)

    - Animations for going through doors

    - Incorporate the flashing flashlight glitch as a flaw in the flashlight, but instead of a blackout, a brownout . If you wanted to add in a battery for the flashlight, the flashing would signify when it was going to go out soon.

    - Footstep sounds?

  6. The consensus, or at least what I've grown accustomed to hearing, is that a sprite should maintain a 15 color bit limit. For quite a long time I was guilty of breaking that code. Take some time in your day to sit down and see what colors closely match each other and you'll be trimming down the pallet like nothing!

The most important thing about taking critique is keeping a level head, and being open to something that will through you off. If you don't think you'll like the change, try it anyways. You might just like it.

  7. Took another shot at creating Level Tiles. Shadows, Brick variations and props will be added later

    Feedback/criticism on what to improve?

Pretty much everything Jettezu has said is what I would say. But maybe you could add a crack or two in the bricks somewhere. Also the upper half of the loop-de-loop bugs me for some reason but I can't put my finger on it...

One more thing, with all the jagged slopes, try adding some slopes at where the slope changes to smooth things out. I dunno how all the jagged-ness would work with the engine, but I think it might cause problems that some filleting would solve.

Otherwise I do like what's going on with this!

  8. ... But luckily, when my mom took my laptop away, I drew every single bit of it on paper. Used about 32 pieces of copy paper. It looks pretty awesome when you lay it all out.

Drawing it out on paper is certainly an interesting way of designing a level, especially for a fan game! Props to you for that!

...Just thought I'd post what I have of my first level, and get some feedback. You can see most of it, there is a giant wall you cannot see. Just keep in mind that it's not finished, and you can't see some small things, not all of the details, and some of those are collapsing platforms, tunnels, etc...

    [qimg]http://i.imgur.com/CYxEIlw.png[/qimg]

Just gimme some feedback, and be as mean as you want. Just keep in mind this is my first ever level, and I have never seen Lake's guide that everyone says is so good. (and it's on his signature...) Sorry the pic is a little long...

The main thing that bugs me right now is that it's been shrunken down, I don't know if that was intentional or not but it kinda bugs me... Think of it like this, since we can't see the small things, we can't understand the true and full design of the level. It's the little things that make a level good.

Also just running through it quickly, I see (or at least think) that there should be more multiple paths to get to the exit. I think there should be a lower path that is slower then the main and the upper. It would add to the level a bit more.

  9. I'll help you out if my job and schools lightens up soon, until then, I can't help :c

I'll message you if I can or not in one weeks times.

Unfortantly, though, all I am really good for, since I haven't had the time to keep up my spriting skills, now is brainstorming ideas. So if you need a good idea bouncer, I am ready and willing to give ya a hand. Just message me over my skype, I'm almost always online.

  10. I agree with Betaman, the background looks way better in comparison to the foreground. It's lacking elements that everything tie in together. The fire red green hill zone grass doesn't flow well with the idea of a "Volcanic Valley Zone."

Going with what Betaman side, the ground should be something reminiscent of ash and soot, jagged rocks, maybe even some small burning plant life. Some burned down trees would be a nice touch, or even a lava flow that the player must cross.

Look into real life locations when getting your ideas for a level design down, it will help you create a better, more presentable piece of work.

  11. Even if it is an attempt to re-use content, it won't bug me. The fact of the matter is that I will most likely enjoy Chrono Adventure, and will play it to death. So much to the point that I'll probably find a few glitches. (which I have in BTS Aftermath)

It's interesting the degree of detail you put into how dilapidated the city is in the present, that's something I like.

Anyways, I kinda forgot what my original point was... I rambled on too long xD
