  1. Dark/Dragon as a typing has already been given to a pseudo-legendary; Hydreigon (and his evolutionary line), and they tend to possess unique type combinations. I believe Flying is definitely on the table for Yveltal. Also, the rumour mill is running almost at full capacity it seems. Quoted from an SSMB topic:
  2. Post patch, the game still has issues, but it is fun. I believe DaHog is referring to the group of PC-players who are re-building the Colonial Marines campaign via mods.
  3. Most of you have probably already heard, but I'll go ahead and post it anyway. A new eevelution has been announced; Sylveon. (Hideous thing) It's typing has not yet been revealed, and I don't suppose anyone here would be willing to hazard a guess? Colour scheme and the moves demonstrated thus far could suggest Normal, butterfly motifs could suggest Bug, whilst it's delicate form and various wavey appendages could imply a Flying-type. Some thought that it's name might suggest what it is. Unfortunately, there are many variables. The name could be derived from Sylvan, a spirit of the woods, Parthenos Sylvia, a species of butterfly, whilst the French name for Sylveon is Nymphali, which could reference greek mythology, where Nymph referred to a female nature deity. There is also a family of butterflies known as Nymphalids. So, yeah, the internet is at somewhat of a loss here.
  4. A feedback forum would be good. I'll bother Strix about it.
  5. RWBY is a new animation production being produced by Roosterteeth (Famous for Red vs. Blue.), and animated by Monty Oum (Who is, as some may know, a self-taught animator.). Details are relatively scarce at the moment, although from the two trailers (found below), it seems to be an animesque CGI show featuring four characters, Ruby (Red), Weiss Schnee (White), and two others whose official names have not been revealed, but are known as Black and Yellow. Further information may be found on the RWBY Wiki. RWBY 'Red' Trailer Oh, that badass gun-scythe is known as Crescent Moon. RWBY 'White' Trailer The series will debut at RTX on July 2013. Thoughts? Anyone else interested to see how this turns out?
  6. Does anyone else wish the profile pictures next to posts were larger?

Now that you mention it, kinda do.

    3. Dazzle

      Dazzle

      It'd be nice I suppose.

    4. Stritix

      Stritix

      I'll look into it.

  7. Dissidia 012 (PSP) and LittleBig Planet (PSP) I was mostly indifferent to the PSP when it launched and during the following years of it's life-span. However, a friend of mine recently managed to help ignite an interest in the system, and after having bought one for myself I must say I am thoroughly enjoying it, to the extent where I'm having trouble justifying having a 3DS anymore, because of how little use it gets by comparison. (Pokemon X/Y might change that, we shall see.) I am currently enjoying the above mentioned games, and would recommend them to anyone who happens to own a PSP.
  8. Shadow the Hedgehog. Not entirely fond of his angst-trip, but I am very much a fan of his portrayal in Sonic Free Riders. Utilising him as a smug Deadpan Snarker seems the appropriate way to keep his character in line with the more child-friendly tone of the franchise without compromising his image as a badass. Stoicism and seriousness are fine enough traits, but Shadow was quite blank in terms of characterisation in '06.
  9. I might consider uploading some of my works at some point. They're not particularly good, nor are there many of them, mind. At any rate, I'm going to move this topic to a more apppropriate forum.
  10. No true scotsman, much? As far as the next Sonic game goes, the last thing I want is a poorly-executed genre roulette.
  11. As far as video-game music goes, One Final Effort and Never Forget are probably my two favourite tracks from any game ever (Halo 3). The former is fist-pumpingly epic, whilst the latter is just unreasonably powerful and emotive. However, the main theme (Mjolnir mix version especially.) is more than adequate. In terms of game soundtracks in general, however, I do very muich enjoy listening to Bastion, Castle Crashers, Witcher 2 and, of course, Sonic, music.
  12. Castle Crashers Haven't played this in a while, although it would have to be one of my favorite games of all time, and I was incredibly pleased to have stumbled across it all those years ago. Unfortunately, it seems my data has been wiped and I lost all my character levels (and most of my characters.), so I've had to start up again.
  13. I can't help but shudder whenever someone mentions Sonic Adventure 3. I'll also add on to my previous post that I would like to see Shadow in a prominent role, and for Chao Gardens to return.
  14. Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, Machine Head, Slipknot, Disturbed. Used to be a major fan of Green Day and Nickelback, although not so much now, but any type of rock or metal is a safe bet nowadays. Oh, and epic choral or anything outrageously twisted or depressing.
  15. What Pokemon are in your team thus far? Any in particular you're aiming to get? How is Assassin's Creed III? I've heard mixed views on it thus far, and I've been on the fence for a while now about Dead or Alive 5. I've most recently started playing Crash Team Racing again. The game has certainly aged, but it was surprisingly fun to race around those old tracks again, and it was nice to play the game that started off my fondness towards kart racers.
  16. Sonic Heroes on account of being the first 3D Sonic game I ever played, and I believe that's the reason I look back on it so fondly, as bad as it was in some regards.
  17. That's an interesting stance to take, considering my post doesn't prove you're right in any way. I'm not being defensive, I'm simply attacking your sense of logic regarding it, because it is faulty. Even so, the fact that people become defensive about the game shouldn't affect your judgment as to whether the game is actually worth playing or not. Considering I'm not offended in the slightest, your accusation loses its luster. I'm not interested in the slightest how soon you decide to get the game, or even if you decide to get it at all; don't be so ego-centric. I'm simply pointing out why your reasoning is flawed, and hoping to generate some discussion in the process. What 'bandwagoning?' At no point during my post did I actually say that the game was good. Drop this pitiful illusion that I'm just some rabid fan trying to unjustly defend the game, because that's not what's happening here. No, it isn't a crime, I also never stated or even implied it was. Everything about my post concerned the exploration of, and demonstration of the flaws in your logic. My argument takes issue with the poor logic supporting the decision, not the decision itself. You obviously thought that your opinion was worth posting, why falter now? This was your attempt at a more reasonable justification? They're trying, but not really trying...considering the level of service to the fans the game offers, and how polished the overall experience is, they were most definitely trying. Your complaints come off as irrational and baseless, and your attempt to 'elucidate' didn't actually help. Again, I ask for elucidation. Why does it seem as if they had less fun making this game, and how does this perceived deficit actually impair the game in any way? Look, you seem to have 'deduced' that I'm somehow offended by your posting, or somehow invested in whether or not you get the game. I'm not. Presumptions will tell you nothing of me, and do little to help your case.
  18. Indeed, welcome aboard, newbies. Phear me. Looking forward to the start of the tournaments. Doubt I'll be able to participate, but it should stir up additional activity around here, and give us something to upload to a dedicated youtube channel for the forum.
  19. Trying too hard to sell the game? Ignoring the fact that this doesn't actually infringe on the quality of the game itself anyway, they're currently undergoing a financial crisis. More importantly, however, define 'trying too hard', what exactly did they do that makes their efforts to sell the game seem so sinister? It did have a very specific target audience; SEGA fans, who happen to enjoy kart racers. Based on observation, most of the hype leading up to release was generated by the fans themselves. Also, it is hardly fair to use your past disappointments as a crutch for your complaint. At the expense of sounding rude, it is entirely the fault of the individual as to whether he or she allows him/herself to be drawn in by hype. It's something you have to learn to deal with. However, a game receiving hype is also not an entirely logical reason to avoid it, and again, does not actually reflect the quality of the game at all. I'm trying to understand what you are actually complaining about, but this post simply leads me to believe that you have something against this game in particular, because your complaints thus far seem unfounded and illogical, and have absolutely nothing to do with the game itself. How were they 'overhyping' and 'overselling' the game? Also, what people are you talking about here, the developers? The fanbase? ...playing by some sort of rulebook? Every game follows a pre-defined selection of mechanics, all games in existence conform to a set of rules. Your complaint of artificiality seems entirely arbitrary.
  20. Ahh Seismitoad...what a hideous abomination. I'll probably end up going for Y, I find the flying Legendary (Ylveltal) to be far more aesthetically pleasing than the other, although admittedly I'm not fond of the name at all.
  21. I'm more of a sandstorm-user and dark-type trainer, myself. Regardless, I agree. Hopefully their evolutions make up for the pitiful first-forms. As I mentioned earlier, the fox is more tolerable than the other two, but Chespin is a brown Oshawott with absurd head decoration, and Froakie just looks ridiculous, especially with that puffy white mass surrounding it's shoulders, chest and back. ...are those cotton buds on it's nose?
  22. Rumour has it that the announcement has something to do with Pokemon Rainbow, a 3DS title featuring the first four regions, an overhauled graphical style and battle system, as well as 20 new Pokemon, including a new Eevelution, Draconeon. No rewards to anyone who miraculously guesses what type this one might be. At any rate, as mentioned, this is only rumour, so don't get your hopes up too much. Does anyone know what time the announcement will actually be made? Scratch that, it has been revealed. Pokemon X and Y announcement Really not liking those starters, although I'd probably have to pick Fennekin, if any. Very fond of that flying Legendary though, adore the colour scheme.
  23. I currently own it for the X360, and must say it is a marked improvement over the original. Then again, I'm a sucker for transformation mechanics in games. The other main element of the game which stood out to me was the race tracks. Aesthetically pleasing and varied, and many of them evolving over the course of the race; there is some fantastic level design here. Currently, Shadow is my most played, with Knuckles as the primary reserve, (On the off-chance that some cretin dares take Shadow before I do.), as I simply adore the designs of his vehicle forms. As far as character unlocks go, I wouldn't worry. They aren't arduous to attain or game-breaking. At least, not from what I've seen.
  24. I'd like for support characters to gain more prominent roles. I want their roles to be better defined - and utilised, and for alt gameplay styles to feel as if they belong in the game, rather than being shoehorned or just plain crap. Great thought needs to go into whether or not each character and style meshes with the rest, and warrants existing in the first place. However, this applies more to the series as a whole rather than simply the next Sonic game. Regardless, I do want to see the franchise as a whole evolve beyond a 'Just Sonic' mentality, without over-doing the cast herd. In terms of simply the next game, so long as it doesn't have a paper-thin plot, is satisfying to play and lasts longer than three or four hours, I'll be satisfied.
