  1. Its already sold out twice I think. Very quickly too, and the third run is almost dry too. The game is really solid with what I've played so far, possibly one of my favorite genesis games even, and I would highly recommend it to fans of the sega genesis, and old school RPG's. Due to the fact that it can't be emulated, and copies on Ebay and such are horribly expensive, I would recommend picking it up if you're thinking about it, because you might regret it later. -Oh shit I might want to link to the website wouldn't I? They'll explain more of it there, and I'm sure you kids know how to use the googles. http://www.magicalgamefactory.com/en/ Just a quick heads up to those interested.
  2. looks pretty sweet. I actually never played the first phantasy star online. I did however play universe, and portable 2, (and of course the god tier classics :3). Portable 2 is pretty sweet, not amazing but I still play it every now and then. Universe was somewhat trash though. Especially since I played portable 2 first, and suddenly all of these features, controls and moves were just fucking gone, like the game wasn't even finished. Any idea how if this could run on an older-ish computer, or if their going to make a console release of this? God damnit I don't want to get excited for this and then realize I can't play it. My other main concern I guess is how accessible the game is. How easy it is to jump into a mission, and minimal patching. God I hate patching with this connection. Most MMO's give you the middle finger with a gigantic obnoxious patch every week, that can take me a solid half hour to download, and when you stop playing for awhile, you suddenly realize all your buddies are gone over-leveled, and it becomes a chore to get any sort of party going. I like phantasy star portable over that, Quickly jumping into the game, even after weeks of not playing the game, and diving straight into party oriented quests. Please tell me this game does this well so far.
  3. As long as Capcom never gets their hands on the rights to the phantasy star II characters, I suppose I can try to live with Bad boxart mega man's existence. Seriously though, I don't remember megaman being disgustingly overweight on any megaman boxart though. I recall him looking retarded on the cover for the first game, but not disgusting. And the phantasy star II boxart is the worst boxart ever, please prove me wrong.
  4. Uh herp derp, You gotta fight those pieces of fuck, that's why. I'd rather not, and stick to characters that are funner to fight against and don't make me cry. Also to say "Hey fuck you, I'm not going to buy this shit if your going to troll me."
  5. Am I the only one else realizing that all of these extra characters suck? MegaMan - Massive trolling LMFAO. Pac-Man, Why the hell is he in a mech? Its more of a mech then anything. And I'm so sick of those fucking cats, does anyone like fighting them at all?
  6. Browsing my steam games, Chantelise, or Recettear are both fun and inexpensive games that I would Highly recommend. Chantelise Especially. There's a somewhat interesting story that picks up in later half of the game too. Its hard as hell though, and almost requires a gamepad. If your short on cash, Artilery F is one of the better free Games that I've played, it's not cave story but its still a solid game. It's got metrovainia vibe to it. Pretty cool art style too. Lots of collectibles and I've yet to 100% the game myself.
  7. there's a way to turn that feature off on norton, I just dont remember how, Cuz I decided to stop using that shit and use Microsoft security essentials instead.
  8. My computer is apparently the same as DNL's. So I got the same results. In browser was smooth too. This is pretty cool though, as expected from this guy.
  9. Bump, Here. I made a game-play video for you. Your welcome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX5VWebjuek&feature=youtu.be
  10. Was not aware I could use ctrl like that. That should be fixed up. but I used it to get a better time anyways
  11. For what its worth. I loved this little level. The game-play really reminded me of sonic unleashed and the engine was just perfect for that style. Some better warning for enemies and such would have been nice. and that pit at the end was a nightmare during the first play-through. As I said before, loving it + unleashed style... ...So.... I'm serious though. You. With this engine. Made something I really enjoy, and I'm looking forward to more from this.
  12. so I finally tried playing this. The jumps in the first area are so blind. I have no idea where I'm jumping to, or, for that matter where I'm going at all. So much space to explore but nothing there. I'm going to go in as a character that can fly and see if I can find a way to the goal that way, and give you crits on the next level before I finish this post. There's nothing but geometry in the second level. That doesn't make a level. I think its a decent start. Like there's something very cool you could do here, but there's nothing there yet. This whole game, is like a big ghost town so far though. Think about generations, many of the challenges reused, geometry, but in used different objects in a completely different way that made it fun and new. That object interaction is key, can help give some more direction and that interaction is missing here.
  13. I'll actually port sprites, backgrounds and objects into an 8.1 file. Then port room files from 8.1 back to 8.0. It works really well actually. We warned you, That's one of many issues I found using it. Most of the time I can test a .exe just fine, but when I create the .exe, the game crashes on startup. The editor itself seems to crash quite a bit too... Unexpected errors. Unexpected errors everywhere. Everytime they fix something something else breaks or hiccups.
  14. I use game maker 8.0 It gets the Job done and is easy to use. 8.1 was still giving me issues that were apparently patched months ago.
  15. the thing is. A reward isn't just a faster/easier route. A reward is finding clever use of a gimmick that gets you there quicker, or an interesting set piece that you dash past, give the player a reason for getting to that path. A challege isn't a pit or 1-hit. but rather having to conserve your rings for that special stage cost. Navigating a tricky climb. etc. Vertical is good. So is horizontal. Spice it up and be sure to use both alternatively. I've been playing sonic cd lately, and I love the way each level focuses on two or three exclusive gimmicks, or just a unique feel. Even the bosses use the level gimmicks. I think that's a pretty easy to use formula.
  16. Megaupload did a lot of things wrong with its business model, that led it to be so populated with pirates. Such as protecting the anonymity of its users for a fee. Effectively promoting and profiting off pirating. There are lots of other smaller details in their model as well. It's frighting that it happened so quickly, but I doubt it would happen to other content hosting sites. Also its a fairly good reminder that we sure as hell don't need SOPA/PIPA
  17. its totally related to sopa/pipa - as in; HOLY FUCK WHY ARE THESE NESSESARY?!
  18. Just a heads up. Sonic 4, Casino night DLC, and sonic CD are now for sale on steam. all other sonic games are 50-75 percent off on steam. (most notably, sonic generations for $15 0_O) And there's a PC demo for generations, so you can test if it will run on your PC. Purchasing Sonic CD also rewards you with some aesthetic add ons for Spiral knights. Figured somebody here might want to take advantage of this.
  19. RPG maker has always had console versions bro. I have a version on my PS2. Of course the console versions are gigantic pieces of shit compared to the PC versions. Most notably due to the sharing/Memory/and other various hardware limitations and Not a lot of copies of them exist. In fact I see it as a solid example why a portable game making app will never get popular. Also. holy shit I have so many god damn windows open when Im working on a project. I don't have room for all of it on an HD computer screen let alone something that fits in my pocket.
  20. Trying to edit my character and make her less of a color edit. How does she look to you guys?
  21. ...or just use F9 when using a game maker made game. It will automatically save the window's content as a .PNG for you too, so you don't even have to open a image editor. (you can toggle this feature on or off in the global game settings. It defaults to "ON" though for whatever reason a lot of devs and engines turn the feature off)
  22. or if your really that concerned with their size, just use
  23. just a separate sprite, pasted over at the specific location. One object in game maker can draw as many sprites as you want. The only difficult part is when some frames have the head lower or higher then usual. But that's easy to work around when you don't have a ton of frames. Thinking about detaching arms the same way too, that way she can direct her arm towards something, aim with a tool, or interact with other objects while running and jumping and such, w/out me having make an insane amount of frames. @lake, I like the middle one, but I can't say I can make an accurate decision w/out seeing it in the level.
  24. I decided to try my hand at some emotions. now she doesn't have to always be so happy
