  1. My SEN's feral link grants 5 or so buffs. So yeah, that's awesome. Makes SYN's pretty pointless and slow when I can do their entire role with one button, from a monster of a completely different role..
  2. Bro, I have about 150 fragments, I've had a couple classes maxed since I currently have only 1 expansions left to reach the cap. And 1200CP per crystal. So I was about your level at gorgya. I'm a bit of a power gamer when it comes to a good RPG, XD, so I've been overleveled through a good chunk of the game, unfortunately. ...so I've been thinking about playing the game again after reaching 100%, but as quickly as possible and at a low level to make it more challenging this time around. Also...Any tips on Giant's Fist achievement (99,999 Damage)? I see this being really difficult, even at my current levels. I can get around 40K or 50K with Noel's Ultimate but that's only about halfway to the damage cap, I'm not really trying to get it at this point, I'm just surprised it still seems so far away.
  3. I Still havn't fought the final bosses. But I'm Nearing 150 Fragments, including 3 of the alternate endings, and I have actually started to explore the final chapters map, and DAMN, every chapter this game has gotten cooler. By the way bro, Unweakened Atlas Hits like a bus making that a fun fight (Fuck yeah, 5 star rating!). You get the same amount of CP as the weakened version, but you get some "different" rewards instead that make it totally worth it to fight him once. The battle against Gorgya was pretty interesting and very unique battle too. It's selling pretty well at the walmart I work at. We fucking sold out of PS3 copies, and rather quickly I might add. That sort of thing rarely happens here. On the topic of music. -Noel's theme during ch.5 -Suddenly noticing Noel's theme mixed in other songs. And seriously, Limit break is amazing, although a bit...startling.
  4. I'm currently at what I think is the final chapter (I've yet to begin it so I dunno), and I've already got the Ultimate weapons and Moves, an army of surprisingly strong and versatile Moblins. But god dammit I will get as many fragments as I can before this boss. (Why must you be so expensive wild artifact from the casino I need to reach the last optional area!) But seriously, even some of the side-quest stories are really interesting and unlocking the paradox endings is not only incredibly satisfying and Intriguing as well, So attempting to 100% this so far is surprisingly fun and rewarding. I'm currently at 120+ fragments. I think I'm satisfied with that number for now, as I'm certain there are at least a couple fragments I wont be able to get until after completing the story. And really, this length doesn't bother me at all, There's plot develops constantly, even through exploration, even optional areas complete with voiced dialogue throughout, so it feels as though it has the content of an rpg 2 or 3 times larger. Which I find much more satisfying the grinding through the additional 20 hours of fetch quests and elemental dungeons used to artificially lengthen most RPG's. OH MY GOD HANDS OF TIME. WHY AM I SO BAD AT THIS?! I LOVE IT. Also yeah, I feel the connection with the characters in this game too, honestly I LOVE the fact that the characters are rather simple, but the world building is what makes the story. It's easier for the player, to...I dunno? ROLE-PLAY? dat moment in ch.5: "We WILL change the future!" *Cue epic boss music* I was so in the zone at that moment that I literally jumped off my my bed and started cheering. Oh my god. I love this game so much. This is totally worth the $60, considering I bought this game with the thought that "Meh I'll probably play this shit eventually..." Also to those of who never played/finished the first game: don't worry about, its not hard to piece together. I haven't even use the included summary. To be completely truthful, the fact that I haven't played the first game, make the story that much more interesting, because at the same time I'm piecing together the future, I'm also piecing together the Past events of the first game, which is like piecing together this incredible legend. I am sorry. I have made another wall. I just like this game so much. I'm probably over-hyping the shit out of this for you guys, but oh well.
  5. The soundtrack is extremely varied. The whole soundtrack is up on youtube, or you could just try the demo. Here I'll link you to a playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1A905D701104EB37
  6. I did't pre-order it, wasn't interested in the pre-order offers. Hell I didn't even want the game nor did I plan on playing it when I bought it. I mean I knew I would play it eventually, but not on release date. Honestly the only reason I bought it on release date, is cause I walked past the display at work, and it stated we had a limited supply of copies with posters packed in. I was like "Shit don't want to miss that!" So I ended up buying the game for the poster. Glad I got it too. I was expecting it to be a dinky little flyer but its pretty damn big.
  7. I started playing this and I'm mad hooked. I think I've got about 14 hours on it with 40 out of 160 fragments gathered. These fragments are a completionist's Nightmare/heaven. It's not hard to figure out where your missing them, but there is some backtracking involved. I have never played the original XIII, But I haven't had any trouble putting the pieces together. I actually like the idea of telling the story from the perspective of less developed characters. Not only does it give a perspective that new players will have an easier time understanding, but it also gives an excuse to reset the characters stats and let the original cast continue to be strong heroes. but seriously I'm really enjoying this game. Its just got this really cool sense of wonderment. Each location seems to bring something new, huge, and interesting (Oerba ), and the plot develops at a steady exciting rate. The world jumping is similar to Kingdom hearts, except here it actually works because all these locations make up the same world, and its fun to see it change as time and the story progresses. The monster raising adds a rather cool and addicting element to the game as well. The ease of dropping in and out of the game is fantastic as well. In other JRPGS I'm always afraid of having to save while I'm way out in the "Your fucked" part of a dungeon, and then running out of supplies, but not here. Here I can just drop out of world or out of the story and go do my own exploring and adventuring whenever I want. Now for some gripes: Combat- Its Pretty damn fun to watch and never boring, but it seems easy aside from my first encounter with Caius, which was difficult, rewarding and quite fun. Many of the optional bosses are just way to hard at this point too. Puzzles- Generally I've found the Puzzles to be really fun but, There's a puzzle in Archylte Steppe that your essentially given the wrong directions for, as they NPCs instruct you to spawn the wrong (aka impossible) boss for you to fight. Also Hands of time puzzles. These suck when they are timed, mainly because the puzzle is completely random every time I retry it. Music As far as music goes haha, there's another type of chocobo in some space/time locations, and upon jumping on it the soundtrack just begins to scream at you in the most obnoxious way possible while the damn thing eats through all your greens. -theres also a few areas where the music continues to play as you move in and out of combat, making the music become rather annoying rather quickly @ila-When you mention the ending (I haven't seen it so I guess im not sure exactly how this works) do you mean the normal ending, or the extended ending you're supposed to get with 100% (160/160) of the fragments? Aside from the ending, the game has a lot of other things that are inaccessible currently due to coming DLC. -The coliseum is just an empty arena -The card tables in the casino require DLC -There are a couple of space/time locations that are separate from the rest of grid, and I assume they can't be reached by normal means. -They have stated they plan to expand the story through DLC, and I've heard all sorts of rumors about what it might entail, some say it will continue the story, some say it will be side stories involving the original cast. But seriously this a great game. Sorry for my wall.
  8. Well I don't have anything quite ready for Kaytanna, The testing level is complete as it needs to be and I've starting throwing in some mock enemies into it, and I Promise they wont suck as much. ...but then final fantasy Happened. But I'll try to knock out a demo of sorts tomorrow anyway. I want to make at least some progress on my own game every week or so.
  9. well Duck it, I'm just going to show any progress on any of my projects here, Rather then making a new thread every time I come up with some idea. I'll just start by dumping links to my projects in one convenient place, and then I'll be posting progress on my current project, and possibly side projects or older projects if I feel like updating them. I don't recall posting up alot of additions to my projects here, so some of this might be new, I'm really not sure, But I imaginge some of you have never touched my fan-games, and just found this thread now, Well...I guess you've found something to entertain yourself this afternoon haven't you? First off my current project, which has gone through way to many transformations to count. I think I'm going to stick with these nice 2D sprites and style I've got now, and I'm currently working towards a playable beta that will showcase some enemies, gimmicks and overall play style of the game. Currently there isn't a demo, but I should have one shortly as progress has been moving slowly but smoothly. I don't think I ever released the latest build of my 2D sonic fangame here, so here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?fyi2cvcmupyzrjd Screenshot of the game: Disc: Nothing too fancy, about a half hour worth of short, quick levels, that spans 8 zones or so with over a dozen levels. Enemies suck major ass. No bosses. Sonic Realm of chaos, My 3d fangame which just now is getting a patch allowing the player to reach the last level with all chaos emeralds hidden in the adventure fields, and Marble garden can be unlocked by collecting 8 or more emblems and then going to the ruins, (its towards the left as you come in the main entrance, next to my old Cheetah/leopard w/ever fan-character seen in the intro. Links to the bulk of the files (either the installer or .zip should work, but either way you'll want the patch): http://www.mediafire.com/?tkmy5ngjqo0 (Installer) http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/games/111145-sonic-realm-of-chaos-full (.zip) Link to a patch containing the new .exe, and audio file for marble garden http://www.mediafire.com/?d8cgs0i4kcm1oeq Image from the game: Disc: a somewhat confusing game to play, but fun regardless, There are 11 main levels, 4 mission levels, and 3 adventure fields. In order to help with exploration somewhat, a very simple map was added that can be turned on and off with the enter key. The game has quite a few collectables to find as well, various NPC's populate the fields, emblems are hidden throughout the main levels, chaos emeralds to find, etc. When you exit the game by using the esc Key, the game will save your progress, and it will also save the emblems and emeralds you have collected, even the number of stages you have S-Ranked. I strongly recommend using the mouse controls as you can turn much easier, not to mention perform somewhat hilarious side steps. Sonic's 3D emerald Hunt: link: http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/games/73800-sonic-3d-emerald-hunt Emerald hunt was a sort of prelude to Realm of Chaos, It boasted three short action stages, 3 stages where one can search for the 7 emeralds to complete the level, and 1 boss. As you play and replay levels, you get more emblems, which unlocks more levels. This game has been called "Very hard" due to its lack of checkpoints, and frustratingly difficult to find emeralds. Sadly this game also lacks mouse control, so you'll have to control sonic like a tank. Various projects I got frustrated with scrapped: Feel free to comment or make suggestion on any of the projects, even if they were scrapped. I'm in the mood for this sort of thing right now, so I might just Necro some of these projects if people are interested.
  10. Consoles with Headphone jacks are even more rad. The other things reviews tend to do is: >OMG IM SO HYPED FOR THIS GAME EVERYBODYS GETTING IT. >oh shit why did I want this piece of poop? I don't like this at all.
  11. I seriously Haven't even opened the box for FFXIII-2. It's gotten amazing reviews, and I was satisfied with the demo. If I had excuse to sit through that same gameplay from the demo for 40+ hours then count me in. I've been playing Pier solar thismorning though, and found a genesis cart in-game by backtracking, now I'm curious what else the developers hid and what they might do. The map/dungeon I'm on is fucking massive, and I keep getting so lost, which doesn't help any of this. I do seriously plan on playing FFXIII-2 but I probably wont get into it until after I finish the game I'm on currently.
  12. Very Unfair XD The space level was the last accessible level, there was another complete level in the game and was supposed to be accessible, but unfortunately it's entrance was bugged. and you could only get in by using a cheat engine. I played through a more recent build last night, I didn't die until the space zone, which I found quite funny, but then that last level, that was previously inaccessible...that level contains so much rape its not even funny. I game overed twice, then flipped a switch for infinite lives, and spent another ten minutes, till I beat it. maybe if I worked on a sequel, with more level specific gimmicks, and actual enemy designs, and less boxy geometry it could really be something. I'm still working with this right now: Maybe I could combine some of the 3d 2.5d programing into this project, and improve it with stronger geometry and controls as well? God dammit guys a few comments and now I've got my juices flowing.
  13. haha, Now that I have money, I'm able to buy more games, Because I don't have time for all of them, I quickly realize that some of my games are actually quite Shit, and shouldn't be played, when many of my games are actually quite amazing.
  14. I has a job, so yes, but I should really be using the money to pay for college...
  15. Copya Pasta from the insider: Aparently I wont find an excuse to buy a modern console until almost a decades of its existence. ...BUT -Throw in a Poster in and I'll buy Final Fantasy on release date. -Notify me that there's a limited printed of a game that might as well called, "Excuse to buy a sega" and I'll buy a $50 game for a severely outdated console. -Tell me that I get 15% of games when I buy them With said Sega, And apparently I'll buy a terrible (yet awesomely nostalgic) game called Hard Drivin' -I currently Own over a dozen games I have yet to complete. -I have yet to even play 4 of the games I own. -Nor do I have the time for all of this. Clearly I have a problem. Lets discuss buying habits. Essepecially mine. -On the brighter side I haven't bought cards in loooooooong time, so games are about the only non-essential item I buy. Related Video to spur Discusion:
  16. HERP DERP MY OLD PROJECT. I spent enough time with it to make a beta with 3 confusing adventure fields, A handfull of missions, and 9 stages. (11.5 if you count the levels that were incomplete or unacceptable) ...SO HAH! Now that I brought it up I should really go back and, and fix it so the last level is playable, along with the sonic 3 throwback levels I had started work on. :| I thought the project was quite fun. The boost was extremely superfluous though. XD -EDIT: Holy shit I still have the install files and for said beta. and the .gmk's as well. 0_o
  17. http://www.piersolar.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1541&f=28 That's the .iso uploaded by WM for use with the reprint editions, You just need to burn it to a disk. I personally feel that the cartridge sounds have more umph, and the cd sound is floaty and airy, but thats probably just me. Some people had issues with it skipping so they edited it a bit, (much larger filesize) and it fixed those issues. Here's the link to that as well: -Shit nevermind Megaupload is down. Basically all he did was add a dummy file to fill the whole disk, For whatever reason that makes it easier for older disk drives to read the disk. I guess there's no skipping on the packaged disks because those are packed with some extra content or something.
  18. I must of missed that edit. You could always do some sort of a trade, I.E. You buy someone a steam game or something, and they ship Pier solar to you. I also tried the battle kid demo, I gave up before completing the demo XD. If it had a retarded amount of savepoints like VVVVVV I'm sure I would love it though.
  19. I've played a bit of I wanna be they guy, its not that hard, its more about unfair deaths, and I really didn't give it much of chance. Battle Kid looks quite a bit better, but I'm not a huge fan of difficult platformers, Then again I did manage to blast through Cave story. I might try to find a demo, or rom of it, and see if its something I would like. I'm pretty sure there's a beta rom floating around somewhere for pier solar as well.
  20. I know they integrated flash memory into the cart, Im not entirely sure how all that stuff works, but Imagine that would require some custom chips. They've also got Pre-orders up for the second set of languages now. First one has English, German, and french. (selling out) EP edition has English, Spanish, and Portuguese. (pre orders for April) Also Battle kid looks pretty freaking cool. Not the kind of game I would want to spend money on though. Just not my thing.
  21. Yeah I've wondered why they haven't done that either, I suppose they really are crazy 0_o
  22. Its kind of a niche thing, Yeah. I just needed an excuse to actually finally buy a sega genesis XD, and I had an itch for a game like this. These two things meshed, and suddenly I was Ok with spending a somewhat absurd amount of money on the Game, The system, And quite a hefty stack of other carts.
  23. Check out dis image quality, Its rad. This is my copy. So, yes, It would appear it is in fact a game for the mega drive/Genesis. The carts work in any region as well. Obviously since the console is not supported by sega anymore, the game isn't actually licensed by sega. But aside from that it's pretty fucking legit. Nobody's been able to dump/emulate the game, but it works on all official systems just fine. You can also Pre-order the soundtrack, which comes with a CD for the Mega/Sega CD and by using it with the cart, you can play the game with a high quality soundtrack. Also the cart is a whopping 64 Megs, as if you couldn't already tell from my image. Considering that I ordered it first notice, Just got it, and their already starting to sell out (for the 3rd or 4th time?) I doubt it will be up for much longer. Watermelon has a history of leaving huge gaps between production runs too. I had just missed the last run almost a year ago if memory serves, and I was sad ;_; Its a turn-based RPG, and a rather good one at that. Its DAYUM beautiful for a genesis game, with full screen images used to help convey the story and So far its consistently challenging without being unfair, (aside from one puzzle I had to find a walk-through for, holy crap what the hell?)
