  1. I still remember the giant plant boss in one of the older versions, who knows if that's still planned or not (apart from Blaze)
  2. Maybe i'm confused in exactly what you are looking for, but have you tried using the Sonic Worlds engine to make a game? it's basicly a sonic 1-2 engine ready to be built on with your own graphics and levels.
  3. SO half of you do not have jobs, still live at home etc? surely you can't beer ping 24/7 and earn a living from it.
  4. So this game might be on it's complete legs by next sage? that's amazing.
  5. Not always, someone could have the mmf2 demo or brought mmf2 because he / she heard it was good to make fangames with.
  6. The guy is asking for help, so give him some... http://www.mediafire.com/file/mt4mtmntzml/Sonic%20SV2%20Engine.zip
  7. I've just been swapping sprites around also but I would just copy and paste each sprite basicly over the top of the old one, so the hotspot's were all the same. Just make sure the feet for sonic are in the same place as the default sprite.
  8. I was just going over different sonic fan games on youtube to see what's around and how well it's made (there is plenty of crap still) and started watching a video on the mugen game Freedom Fighters. Half way into watching a part 2 video I noticed something quite surprising in the background, look: There is also red's old game top left and another game top right when the screen scrolls, but they are only corners of the billboard. I remember in one early sv2 release I asked for billboards to scatter around the level and I guess someone out there took a fancy to them. But freedom fighters is not too old is it? my early sv2 demo's were ages ago. It's amazing how much stuff can spread if you keep looking for it, who knows how much TFH stuff is out there in other communities.
  9. >_< so close to recovering old files and AIM refuses to log in on my new ISP connection, ugh it's like the world is against me! Showoffboy, if you find those files please PM me or tell me your MSN name if you use it. If you want, doesn't matter much.
  10. The photo real backgrounds feel out of place I think, compared to a blue sprite hedgehog and objects around.
  11. It did have more but I guess the TT version is lost forever , this one has lots of unfinished movement and items etc. There's probably a debug mode in this version but hell if I remember how to turn it on. I also have showoffboy's aim, a good guess worked. *edit* No idea what music I used, been too long.
  12. Amazing! I thought I had lost it completely untill I saw you register Not sure if I have your AIM details anymore, do you use MSN also?
  13. It's an extremely earny fangame so don't expect magic, but at the time nearly everyone else was just using the ingame movements without much of an adjustment at all.
  14. Yes because of the way cnc/tgf use to make installers, you could lock it with an option but I can't remember if it wasn't in the early versions or I just forgot. Back then it wasn't worth sorting out if someone took ideas from your game like that.
  15. Apart from hanging around #lemonade and now visiting #retro also i'm finishing up a uni course on 3d games, working with a team on a shmup right now for the next 5 or 6 months as well as making FMV's. I don't have much time for anything else.
  16. It's one game I still have the files for, it had a few concepts that I use to change over and it was playable on both MMF and GBA, but the later was only a sprite jumping around. I used the GBA version in a job interview and let them play it on my DS.
  17. It's been so long I had to check the events list to see what I implanted, i'm sure that I updated it at one point so you stick to slopes when running down them but it's not a hard thing to fix anyway, and to think this engine was outstanding at one point! The TT engine featured water running, sort-of slope physics (it was all fake but looked real) and well, was better. I downloaded the sfghq original version but it locks up, maybe an XP thing, but I remember making that "DX" version because someone wanted to play SV but using an .exe and since MMF was new I saved it through that, but some things naturally changed due to how MMF treats events so it feels slightly different. I also remember adding the warning posts to the spike pits so you knew when to stop or jump. I just sat here and beat the game, it's terrible now to fangame standards but oh my what a memory rush, and it's still fun! *edit* Also I played Sonic Wars, a game using the SV1 engine when sonic was hitting 10 years old with sonic adventure 2 coming out. Not the best game but I remember only spending like 3 days to make it. Also does anyone remember Diablo SV? it was kind of inbetween SV1 and SV2 creation and featured my "furry"? that's another game I need to try and find somehow...
  18. It's been years since I helped or use to hang around sfghq but i'm trying to hunt down old demo's and engine's that I made over time. Stuff I can remember: Sonic SV1 (from sfghq) Sonic SV2 demo's (the sfghq one has a broken link, but i've made many versions) Diablo SV (some sort of hybrid game where you play the enemy) Sonic SV2: TT (had time travel and an original sonic sprite by showoffboy) If anyone has any of this stuff apart from SV1 i'd be glad to play it again, i'm quite suprised that a few people still use the oldish SV2 engine as a base for their games, searching over the forum linked me to quite a few threads about it.
  19. The game was only a demo with the full name of Sonic SV2: TT since it had sonic cd type time travel implanted before I stopped work on it, in a way I wish I finished it since it was one of the better games back in 2002. I have no files and google only links to broken downloads or people talking about the SV2 engine that I released when I stopped work on the game. i'd love to play it again after all this time though.
  20. This could be the next Sonic Awesome if anyone remembers it.
  21. I had only just found out about the sonic worlds engine by bumping into PC0 over irc, but still you could be working on the sequel right now instead of the first release
