  1. Just edited the post. Hope that makes navigation a little easier
  2. Hello all! I actually signed up for this forum about 4 years ago but haven't accessed it until now. For your entertainment, I have created a YouTube video of my rankings of all of the Sonic games that I have played (42 in all as of 2012). Give it a watch! I'm definitely open for a debate! Part 1 (#42-#36): Part 2 (#35-#29): Part 3 (#28-#22): Part 4 (#21-#17): Part 5 (#16-#11): Part 6 (#10-#6): Part 7 (#5-#1): Enjoy! - ICRMON
  3. I thought you might like to see a video of my game. (It's actually a trailer) Here's the link: Thanks
  4. I've been debating and I decided that since I don't have my desktop computer that I make all my games on at the present moment, I will post my game engine for the second installment in my series now. However, I know there are two main bugs in it, so don't comment on those if you experience them. I know how to fix them I just haven't had a chance yet. The two errors in the engine are: 1) Sonic can get stuck in the walls. (So please don't jump into the walls! I know how to fix it, I just need to get the chance); 2) Sonic can sometimes perform the light speed dash and go over the rings instead of through them. Again, this is something I know how to fix, I just haven't gotten the chance. Note: If you are light speed dashing and you get stuck, press "A" then "X" I guess I'm posting this because I think this game is really cool and has a lot of potential and I want to see what you guys think of it. Make sure you play the in-game tutorial first. Here's the download link: http://www.divshare.com/download/5338493-cbe Thanks a bunch. Please comment on it (except for the two things I have already said not to comment about)
  5. Yeah, my sequel is not a sequel in the sense that it's using the same engine as the previous game. I've created an all-new engine (worked on it for about 3-4 months) taking everything I've learned from my first game. The Rise of the Zorcanite is a completed project, so I'm not going to fix the levels. I'll just apply what I learned from that game to the new one. In other words, I'm starting fresh. I only am using the term "sequel" because it's the second part of the Sonic Saga trilogy. The three games are as follows: 1. Sonic Saga - The Rise of the Zorcanite 2. Sonic Saga - The Crimson Emerald 3. Sonic Saga - The Chaotic Rift
  6. Here's the story. When I first started using the Games Factory 2, I used a command within the game to make it switch to full screen at the startup (you didn't have a choice. Also, when I first created the game, it just started at Green Hill Zone. So that was my original first frame). Then I found an option that allowed the user to determine whether or not he wanted to play the game in full screen. Obviously, when I did this, I forgot to take off the command to switch to full screen in Sonic's first level (even though I thought I did). I would go and fix it, but unfortunately I can't since I'm at college and the computer that I developed the game on is back at home. I would correct it on my laptop, but the game engine runs incorrectly (like in a shooting level, it only lets you shoot one laser) so I really don't want to build the source code in that state. It works fine on the other computer though. (Don't worry, this is only referring to how the source code runs not the application. In the game that you have, the shooting levels will work fine.)
  7. That is definitely one of the points I agree on! I think it's definitely better to actually finish a game then spend ages on like one level and never come close to finishing a game.
  8. Hey, About the switching to full screen thing, Sonic's first level is the only level that does it (you can hit Alt + Enter to switch out of full screen mode. You can also hit the same button combination to enter full screen mode if you want) Secondly, I know that the beginning levels aren't all that wonderful. They were the very first I ever made. I figured since it was my first game, I wouldn't spend an eternity fixing up the game and that I would apply what I learned to a new game. What I've done with my sequel is that I've constructed the game engine 6 months in advance. This engine lets Sonic home attack, zip across accelerators, launch off ramps, slow roll, light speed dash, and turn into a dark form of himself when he is overcome with rage (there is a Rage counter in this game). Soon, I'll have a demo version ready, but there are still a few bugs a want to iron out. I probably would've posted a demo of the Rise of the Zorcanite, but I didn't know these sites existed when I was creating it.
  9. Hey, I just finished my first Sonic fan game just a little while ago. It's been in the game submissions section for a awhile, but nobody seemed to acknowledge it, so I thought I'd just bring it up here. Here's the link to the game: http://www.divshare.com/download/5308703-0f6 I'm also working on a sequel where Sonic has to rescue the souls of his friends while contending with his dark side. If you want to know how the story gets to this point, you have to play my entire first game. The storyline is really good, even though it might start out a little slow.
