New Sonic Series Story Details Revealed by Ian Flynn

In a recent podcast with Ian Flynn, Flynn has stated the main games, IDW comics, and Sonic Prime are all part of the same branch of the series while the movies and Classic Sonic have their own branches. The IDW comics and Sonic Prime are canon “to an extent” with many details “in flux.” Details are yet to be finalised.

Flynn has also stated in another recent podcast knowing when Sonic Prime takes place in the timeline, but cannot talk about it until the series ends. “As for where it fits on the timeline…I can’t speak on it because it would spoil the show to a degree. So you’ll have to wait until it’s done.” Another question had been asked in regards to Flynn’s opinion of Sonic’s comment in Sonic Prime when Sonic states he had not seen badniks without flickies before when there’s been plenty of those. “I don’t know how much I can say, so it’s better I don’t comment.”
