Last month one of Ikebukuro’s biggest landmarks, the huge SEGA Ikebukuro Gigo arcade, permanently closed after 28 years. The arcade was closed as the building will be renovated. Now, SEGA has announced a new arcade will be opening in Tokyo Japan across the street from the old. The new building has been announced as only volume 1 of the Ikebukuro project with volumes 2 and 3 planned. The new arcade is set to open on October 22. The new building is smaller than the previous. The new building has five floors compared to the previous building’s eight floors. The new SEGA arcade will include crane games and video games.
