Rumor: New Sonic Game to be called Sonic Rangers. Gameplay details leaked as early as January

During the digital event Sonic Central, Sonic Team brought upon several reveals including a new cgi trailer teasing what seems to be the next mainline Sonic title which is set to release next year in 2022.

The trailer did not reveal much other than Sonic running through a forest area along with a new symbol that has many fans speculating about what it could be. Other than that, there was no title for the game revealed.

However, according to twitter users @PTKickass and @bluwolfboy, the metadata for this trailer contains some very interesting information.

The game seems to be called Sonic Rangers and that’s not the only thing pointing toward this. This morning, several hours before the stream of Sonic Central, Nick Robinson (@Babylonian) had even said that this was the game title.

Since then, a leak surfaced from 4chan dating back to January of this year where an anonymous poster claimed to have been focus testing a new sonic game called Sonic Rangers. In this post, they talk about what they played and the mechanics of the game. The legitimacy of the leaked details can not be confirmed, so please do take it with a grain of salt. However, with all the recent news revealed over the last 24 hours and the date of which this leak was posted could very well mean it may be true.
