SEGA Announces New Game Gear Micro Console

SEGA has announced a new Game Gear Micro portable console in celebration of the company’s 60th anniversary. There are four different color variants each with four different games preloaded on the console. The Game Gear Micro consoles are available to pre-order in Japan for 4,980 yen each and will be released on October 6th. There’s currently no news on a Western release.

The black model features:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Puyo Puyo 2
  • Out Run
  • Royal Stone

The blue model features:

  • Sonic Chaos
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • Sylvan Tale
  • Baku Baku Animal

The yellow model features:

  • Shining Force Gaiden: Ensei – Jashin no Kuni he
  • Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya
  • Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict
  • Nazopuyo Aruru no Ru

The red model features:

  • Revelations: The Demon Slayer
  • Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special
  • The GG Shinobi
  • Columns

The console is 80mm x 43mm x 20mm and has a 1.15-inch display. The console has a single mono speaker along with a headphone jack. The console charges over USB. You can also power the console using two AAA batteries.

If you buy the entire set, your console will come with a “Big Window Micro” (priced at 29,980 yen). This is an accessory used to magnify the size of the screen inspired by the same one released for the original system.
