  1. Because the Modern series isn't as bad as all the whiners say it is. 'Nuff said. Also, yes, communities definitely.
  2. *stares at Classic 2 mfa* Now you mention it, these tiles do look VERY familiar.
  3. Sure thing; I don't foresee another release until Spring, so there's still plenty of time in case anyone can't get involved at this moment in time. P.S. I assume you're already familiar with my portfolio, Alex. *wink*
  4. Sonic Zodiac currently only has 2 musicians; Mr Lange and Jassbec, so it'd make sense that we want some more. We're seeking capable and talented musicians who can work with or create and use their own Genesis soundfonts to emulate the sound style of Sonic 3. If you're interested in joining the team, post in the comments below or hit me up on Skype at alex.bradleydk4, giving a link to a music portfolio however you make contact. Myself and the rest of the team will then take a listen to the music in the portfolio and review whether we think you'd be suited to the project. When we have a made a decision, I will message you personally via the PM system and, once we have finalised our musician list, one of the team will post here announcing the new musician(s).
  5. But you can still make out what it's supposed to be...the blur is redundant and just annoying.
  6. Woah, I'm getting massive Firebugs vibes from this, which is actually pretty awesome. So is this a side project or has Spark already been released (I've not really been following anything on this forum for ages, so I wouldn't know)?
  7. No offence, but the Wozo character reeks of self-insert. A lot of the enemies don't really seem like they would fit a Sonic game, either.
  8. Yes, it's placeholder. We just don't have an OST yet. Speaking of which, any good Genesis musicians around here?
  9. >Crash of the Titans and Sunshine as "Hidden Gems", somehow misses out 06. OK, here we go: Firebugs (PS1) This is one of my earliest memories of gaming experiences. Not only was this game a great racer, it also has the fine accolade of owning one of my favourite OSTs in videogames. I mean, just listen to this! Pac-Man World (PS1) I expect a lot of you guys to know about this one, but it seems to be pretty obscure by mainstream standards. Solid platforming all the way through along with great art and a brilliant OST. Pac-Man Ball (UK Arcade Machines) While not a proper game, per se, I have very fond memories of this machine and I still play it today when I have the chance. Basically, you put in your 2p coins and hope they go through a fruit slot. If they do, a fruit ball corresponding to the slot will drop in on the screen. Your goal is to match fruit to try and get more coins. Toribash (Steam) A very fun game which mixes fighting and stratergy. You have to create attacks by flexing, extending or contracting the muscles of your fighter in a turn based death match. The most satisfying thing about this game is pulling your opponent's body apart limb by limb as "the blood spills across the canteen floor".
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbZzjHTAiSs And here is a demonstration of the new widescreen ratio; as you can see, we've also been working on making the level look nicer. Thoughts or critique anyone. Oh, and sorry I can't get the quality higher, but the vid was taking 9 hours to upload as it was and I didn't want to resubmit it. 480p still seems to be pretty good quality, so I'd suggest watching in that.
  11. Hm, the sprite work looks pretty good, but I'm not really sure it matches Sonic's sprites. Might I suggest respriting Sonic to be more cohesive with the rest of the art. Custom sprites also help your game stand out a lot more and have it's own identity. I mean, look at Sonic Edge of Darkness; it would be impossible to mistake it for anything else because its art is just so different from most other fan games. I truly believe that your project has potential (though I'd love to see some gameplay before saying more), but I think that getting things like this right will really distinguish your game and push it that bit further. Also, where's Eggman during all this? XD
  12. Damn right it does! The HUD's actually a little off in this screenshot, but it's been fixed since then. I'm actually working on revamping Act 2 right now before moving on to the next Zone.
