Sonic is in Station Square, who then has a battle with a strange enemy made of water. When the creature is defeated, Sonic runs into Tails, who finds a Chaos Emerald on his journey. Sonic and Tails go to the Mystic Ruins. On the way, they find Eggman and he introduces the two to Chaos, the water creature Sonic fought earlier. By grabbing the Chaos Emeralds, Eggman feeds them to Chaos, the creature transforms into a larger being with each Emerald given. If Chaos absorbs all of the seven emeralds’ power, he’ll be invincible. Eggman plans to use this to destroy Station Square and to build his own city. As Sonic and Tails head on their adventure to stop him, they encounter other characters, who each have a place in the story.
