Sonic Runners Shutting Down Shortly
by Administrator May 27, 2016 5 commentsSonic Runners is unfortunately shutting down shortly. Sonic Runners is set to shut down next July 27th which is just slightly over a year after it launched worldwide in June 2015. From today, players won’t be able to buy Red Star Rings, however players can use any remaining Red Star Rings until the servers shut down next July 27th.
Sonic Runners was labelled by SEGA as a failure a few months ago in a public report. The mobile game has not performed up to SEGA’s expectations. It seems that Sonic Runners has been a failed experiment.
What’s your thoughts on Sonic Runners shutting down? How has your experience been with the game? Let us know in the comments below!

Jump into a conversationThat really sucks to hear imo, I had an absolute blast playing it at first. The 2.0 update really killed it for me, but I’m honestly surprised to hear it didn’t do well since it was such a fun game.
Oh well, here’s hoping for some new projects before long.
This is why SEGA should focus more on console games.
Bummer…! I remember getting it when it came out for the first time! I remember going nuts trying to get that Classic Sonic Character Egg on the 24th Anniversary Celebration! Sad to see it go, but oh well…
RIP Runners. I’ve never played it, only the second one, but it’s still sad to see a Sonic game crash and burn like that.
welp… that stinks. and i just unlocked classic sonic.
