Gotta’ Catch Some More: New Pokemon details, titles on Online
by Brian Pope August 12, 2023 0 commentsThere was a brand new Pokemon Presents today that featured several updates for the Pokemon brand through various apps, releases, and supporting content.
First to be shown off was a little more information regarding the sequel to Detective Pikachu, titled Detective Pikachu Returns for the Nintendo Switch is aimed to release on October 6th, 2023.
There was also plenty shared in regards to the mobile offerings of Pokemon, including information on Pokemon Masters EX, Pokemon Cafe Remix, Pokemon GO Fest 2023, and Pokemon Unite.
Pokemon Masters EX, a strategy battler that pairs Pokemon and Trainers together in Sync Pairs adds Nemona and Pawmot from the Paldea Region, the first pair to be featured from this new generation of games. The game is celebrating it’s fourth year anniversary.
Pokemon GO is adding new Pokemon from the Paldea region to the game, allowing Pokemon from every region to be catchable.
Pokemon Unite is celebrating it’s second anniversary with the addition of Mewtwo to the MOBA-style game. As well as events to unlock holowear, costumes for your Pokemon fighters.
Tatsugiri, the mimicking Pokemon is also being added to Pokemon Cafe Remix, as well as a Jigglypuff costume and Vaporeon as a 5-star chef.
In regards to animation, there is a YouTube series that focuses on characters playing the Pokemon TCG in a competition called Pokemon: Path to the Peak with the first episode releasing on August 11th.
We also got a sneak peak of some footage from Pokemon Horizons, the sequel story to follow after the adventures of Ash Ketchum.
Finally, there was an announced web series called Pokemon: Paldean Winds that will premiere on September 6th on the official Pokemon Youtube Channel.
Switch Online members all cheered out at the next reveal: Pokemon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy Color and Pokemon Stadium 2 for the N64 were released for the Online service, bringing these beloved classics back for players old and new to enjoy.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also showed off some more information about it’s pair of paid DLC, releasing as a part one and part two, by revealing a release date for The Teal Mask (part one) on September 13th, 2023.
Players can also add Mew to their games through a Mystery Gift code and fight a Mewtwo as a Terra Raid Pokemon with more details here.
