  2. Sonic XG has been in the works for many years. It was originally a standalone game, then merged with Sonic Nexus and Retro Sonic, and now back to a standalone game. Sonic XG stands for Sonic Extended Genesis. It's a fan sequel to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The gameplay is similar to that of the classics, but adds a few new gimmicks here and there. It's one of my favourite fan games, and I look forward to the upcoming new version of the game. You can download the demo by clicking here, or try out an earlier test build of the game by clicking here. What's your thoughts on Sonic XG?
  3. Have anyone here played sonic advance 2 multiplayer mode? You know those arrows and those icons on the bottom of the screen that tell how far you and the others are from the goal? I want to figure out how to do that kind of thing. Im not aming for 4 players but instead, 2 players. I have some experience with coding and i know it has something with the room width and x values. But i can't figure it out. Im not on a pc at the moment so i can't post any coding sadly...
  4. First of all, I want to say hello to everybody on this community, this is the first time in this community. So, right now I am working on Fan Game called Sonic Emeralds, and I choose The Sonic Revival Engine 3.0 to make my game. I am starting to use Game Maker 8.0 Pro, so I´m still a newbie xD I created a room, and I want to spawn Sonic on the game, so I put the "objEngineStartPosition" on the room. Then when I was going to test the game, an error message showed up saying: ERROR in action number 2 of Create Event for object objPlayerSonic: Error in code at line 106: if( global.StartX == -1 && global.StartY == -1) ^ at position 17: Unknown variable StartX Can you guys help me? ;(
  5. Hello there! I'm working on a Crash Bandicoot (yes it is not a Sonic fan game) fan game and I would like some help. Now for those who played Crash Bandicoot: Tiki Quest (look at one of the videos from my playlist here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqBwnPMGvGfmpiIHGAkN0L_RFCW7AHAhX) they will recognize these sprites: (Please note that these sprites are from http://cyanwolf12.deviantart.com/ and I have 100% permission to use these sprites and I and anyone else could edit these sprites) (Please note that these sprites a PURPOSELY on JPG for protection). I would like some help on these sprites. For anyone who would like to help me, please PM me or comment down below. Now please know that this is for a Crash Bandicoot fan game called Crash Bandicoot: Cortex Chaos (pending title probably).
  6. I don't know what needs to be said about this game that hasn't already been said before. Woah nelly, this game. For those of you who are unaware (and I'm assuming that's like 3 of you at this point XD), Sonic Omochao Edition is a fan hack by Cinossu and QJimbo of Sonic Retro. Basically, OmoChao follows you around the entire game. Whenever he wants to state the obvious, the game pauses itself, accompanied by a little jingle that gets longer every time you touch or hit an object in the game. And the jingle gets longer. AND LONGER. AND LONGER. So how to you put an end to OmoChao's eternal annoyance? You just have to avoid and evade EVERY THING IN THE LEVEL. Here's a video example of the game: I love this hack, for everyone's information. It's such a simple concept, but at the same time, it's INGENIOUS. You now have an incredibly high level of challenge to set for yourself in Sonic 1, not to mention how HILARIOUS the concept is alone. So everyone, thoughts on Sonic Omochao Edition? Did you find it hilarious, or do you loathe the game? And has anyone here gotten a perfect run, because I sure as hell haven't (but I was THIS CLOSE!).
  7. Sonic Time Attacked is a fan game created by Jamie Bailey. It was released almost an entire decade ago. It used advanced movement methods for its time. It's known by many to be one of the best Sonic fan games released. The game is about Eggman making an attack on time in attempt to change Sonic's past victories, and he succeeds. Sonic's mission is to set things right. It plays pretty decently. There's a couple bugs here and there, but most are very minor. It's a good time waster. I recommend checking it out. You can download it by clicking here. What do you think of this fan game?
  8. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 HD is an unofficial fan remake of the 1992 SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive classic Sonic the Hedgehog 2 using up to date graphics with a few new novelty features here and there. The graphics have been completely remastered in pure HD. Also new features planned were online multiplayer, playable Knuckles, and a few extra levels. It looks fantastic and it plays fantastic. It's one of the best fan games I have played. It's really a shame that it was cancelled. It had a lot of potential. If you wish to try out the demo yourself, click here.
  9. Neo Sonic Univese is a fan game created by Alexandre Martins released in 2003. It was advanced for its time. Most fan games around then used the built in Multimedia Fusion movement template which stuck to walls, but Neo Sonic Universe runs on a custom engine template and plays smoothly. Despite lacking 360 degree movement. The game has two modes. Adventure mode and battle mode. Adventure mode is basically just a regular platformer, and battle mode is where you can fight against other Sonic characters. There's not too much to say about the battle mode. In adventure mode you are on a quest to save Sonic's friends from a creature who has taken Shadow's form. Sonic is the only playable character at first, and you must save Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Shadow in order to play as them. This is done by completing each character's story. If you finish Sonic's story you'll unlock Tails, if you finish Tails you'll unlock Knuckles, and so on. This game was ahead of its time, and despite being almost a decade old it still plays somewhat decently today. If you are interested in fan gaming, then I suggest checking this out. It's a piece of history for the fan gaming scene. You can download the game by clicking here. What do you think of this fan game?
