I was making some parallax for a zone in my fangame, Technocity Zone (Hydrocity fiasco, It's either a pun on technology/velocity or just a techno city)

I think it's looking pretty nifty so far: there's a lot of fun shapes in it. Also, is the middle building with the round top Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated?

  2. What is even going on in this thread? ._."

Um...if I have anything to say...I think Reborn is...decent so far. The physics really could use some reworking: Sonic controls fairly badly in the air. I also really think some of the level design needs to be reworked: Especially the ending section of act 2, where it feels clunky (partially thanks to the physics), boring, and just added on to extended the level time without having a forethought to the flow of said level design. I really do like that bg you made on this page too: it looks charming. I do have to say that I don't really like those thin, long clouds that are close to the mountains: they look weird and unfitting with the large, fluffier clouds.

However, I kind of do feel that the game's a bit /too/ similar to BtS and AtS in ways, especially the map background in zone 2 looking way to similar to the Map in Horizon Heights. I'm sure that once things get settled that we all can work together to improve the final product of the game to be fun and enjoyable.

  3. I really love the way Chaos Citadel looks so far: the colors all compliment each other pretty nicely and is pleasing to the eyes.

As for Futureshock Freeway, I like the foreground: it has a pretty interesting pattern and the lamp posts (I'm assuming they're lamp posts) look really funky. As for the bg, I love the purple buildings and the tunnel, but I don't really feel the green buildings in the very back suit the other colors well: You have a lot of purple and yellows that complement each other, but then you have the green that looks completely out of place and offsets the rest of the colors. And then the clouds: the clouds look kinda gaudy with both the pinkish purple and the dark green sky.

Still, I'm really looking forward to this game, so keep up the good work.

  4. I actually really do like what they have going so far: Buffles- I mean Knuckles looks the worst of the bunch to me. It's really uncanny valley worthy of how much of a drastic change he had. I think Sonic looks...okay: Not really that great, but he has some good things going for him. Tails and Amy look the best out of the bunch imo. Not only do I really like how Tails genuinely does look like both a pilot and a mechanic now, but Amy's new design surprisingly works in her favor.

So yeah, you can call me excited.

  5. For me...well....

Say Hello to Dark Cloud 2, aka Dark Chronicle outside of North America, the second in a series of RPG games for the PS2; and is THE definative RPG for the PS2. It revolvoes around a story about a boy named Maxamillion, or Max for short, who, after discovering the secret surrounding the town he lives in during the local Carnival. After being found, he's persued into the town sewers by the ring leader of the circus, who's working for a man known as "Griffon" to collect the stone around his neck, called an atlamillia, which can control time. Eventually, he escapes the sewers and heads out to explore the world. Along his adventure across his world, he encounters a girl named Monica, who's from the future and explains the importance of the atlamillia and how Griffon is using them to screw up the future by destroying the present From that point on, they band together to restore the present to save the future.
This game, is fantastic in every way, shape and form. The story manages to be a decent plot around time travel, the main characters are all enjoyable and fun to listen to, the gameplay is immersive and super enjoyable, and, not to mention, since it IS a dark Cloud game, you can BUILD ENTIRE TOWNS. How is that not awesome? The soundtrack is also phenomenal and the voice acting is normally superb! It's seriously such a shame this series dropped off the face of the Earth: I for one will enjoy a 3rd game in the series.

  6. Boom, Almost 2 months without an update and I am back with an update.

First off, here's some Concept art for a Marble Zone Mod me and Super Spindash are (slowly) working on.

    slycoopersketch.jpg

I also drew Sly Cooper because I have a problem. I wanted to understand basic anatomy and decided to best way to understand it was to draw a character I liked.

Here's some White Space Mockups I drew (Hang Castle and Red Mountain

    phantasmalthicketzoneco.jpg

Here's a concept I drew for Phantasmal Thicket Zone (A level for the Fictional Sonic Rush 3 OST)

Here's also some draws of the 06 levels if they had actual hub worlds (even though they're in a white space format)

And Finally, here's Slytunkhamen and Slytunkhamen II: Sly Cooper's Egyption ancestors....I really like how they turned out...toes are a pain.

  7. My favorite would probably have to be Sonic Generations. I've never really played Colors, but I have played Unleashed, and, while it looks nice and all (and manages to by my favorite Sonic Game), Generations managed to pull out more of a whimsical charm with every litle detail included in it. Comparing the two in a gameplay aspect, Sonic Generations controls much better, is a lot less boost2win, and has a lot more platforming involved in the game without having the werehog slow it down. From an environmental standpoint, Generations is beautiful. Speed Highway, Seaside Hill, and even Planet Wisp all look stunning in their HDified glory. Heck, even the enemy's have little details packed into them, from motobugs getting excited from managing to land a hit on sonic to the spiny's being depressed right before they are destroyed. Finally, from a soundtrack standpoint, again Generations takes the cake. Sure, Unleashed has Skyscraper Scamper, Cool Edge, and Dragon Road, Generations has Speed Highway Classic, Chemical Plant Modern, Seaside Hill Modern, Crisis City Classic, and Sky Sanctuary (both Modern and Classic). So, in the end, while Unleashed IS my favorite Sonic Game, I feel Generations manages to beat it by a thread.

  8. What game should I play if I want to get into the series?

For the full experience, you need to start from the first game, Sly Cooper and the Thevius Raccoonus (Or Sly Raccoon depending on where you live), whether it's the original PS2 version or the version included on the Sly Collection. Then, chronologically work your way up, to 2, 3, and then finally 4 (aka Thieves in Time).

  9. For all of those who grew up with a Playstation 2 and/or 3 (or are friends with me) you may have heard or even played a little series called "Sly Cooper." For all of those who never grew up with Playstations, Sly Cooper is a series of games that follows the tale of Sly Cooper, an anthropromorphic raccoon with a family of master thieves, who steal things from other criminals who aren't worthy of their wealth and power, his two best friends, Bentley, the brains, and Murray, the brawn, and Inspector Carmelita Montoya Fox. The plot varies from each of the 4 games, but the basic idea remains the same, Sly was raised by a family of master raccoon theives, who steal from those unworthy of their wealth and power. On the day that Sly was supposed to recieve his family's prized heirloom, the Thievius Raccoonus, a band of 5 villains known as the fiendish five broke into his home, murdered his parents, and stole the Thievius Raccoonus. Sly was put into an orphanang where he met his two life-long pals, Bentley and Murray. Together, they teamed up and formed the Cooper Gang, who's goal was to rescue the Thievius Raccoonus from the clutches of the Fiendish Five.

So yeah, what are your guys' take on the series? Me, I'm personally obsessed with this series. Sly Cooper is probably one of the only series that I've played that has managed the be almost perfect in every way. The characters are all lovable, sympathizable, or hatable (depending on who the character is), the voice acting is amazing, the mood the games create are outstandingly fitting, the gameplay is uniquely interesting, the character designes and personalities are all varied and fresh, and the music is gorgeous.
