Something called "Search Snacks" keeps installing on my computer to give me ads. I've uninstalled it 5 or so times now. At first it wasn't a problem just a one time thing, now it's done it 3 times in the past 3 days. Can I prevent this.

I think 'closed down' is a bit extreme... Nothing stops them from renewing the domain, right? It's a pretty simple process.

So you want to play two instances of the same game, or type text in two programs at the same time?
If the program in question supports key reading when out of focus, then it should work right away.
However, operating systems are designed to only focus one text box at the same time...
What are you trying to accomplish?

In that case, I recommend you to get a 2.5'' HDD enclosure. Take out your old drive , put it in there and BAM, you now have a nifty external drive.

If you need your files right now, pull out the hard drive and connect it elsewhere.
Look for the part number of your charger and search for alternatives.
I got a pair of replacements for my Toshiba for $20 each (down from $80), and it's the legit original model! Keep looking around.

Worse than iTunes being a huge POS, apple products are crap because now they're 99% unrepairable and broken.
I have a 2008 MBP that I need to fix for someone, and it's just a slightly complex parts replacement. Try doing that on a 2012 MBP...

There are alternate synchers for linux as well, so there must be something you can use. It's iPod only, though - no phones.

There's no way xfwm was being a heavy weight, it's pretty light. It is outdated, though so it might be that.
Also, proprietary drivers are always hell to get working.

If your window manager is screwing up your performance, you're doing something wrong. I run kwin and turn off compositing when I'm going to try a game.
Which was your previous setup? (if it was gnome3, I can understand - it's a POS no matter where you look)
