[Classic/Modern Split.]

With classic Sonic being retconed from time travel to an alternate dimension it's looking like Sega are treating classic and modern as seperate brands with each side having a shared core cast and other characters being kept for one side of the franchise.

Both get access to Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Eggman and Metal Sonic.

Modern has everyone else introduced or updated from Adventure onwards.

Classic gets to use the previously abandoned characters like Fang, Mighty and Ray.

Does this feature projectile moves? Because Amy has a crossbow in her comic past that could cover that if she is in.

I guess it can be good too, dropping the focus on knuckles guarding the master emerald frees up the narrative a little.

[How Long Should We Expect Someting To Stay Canon?]

Thinking back over the direction they took with Tails in Forces vs the character development from Adventure as dissapointing as the regression is can we really expect the series to stick to decades old events, things where the original people that played it will be at least in their early 20's by now. I know the series has some good fan retention but the target audience must have cycled through two or three times in that time frame.

Just looked over the 2 all stars rosters and their cast comes in at the mid 20's and early 30's. My quick Sonic cast count came in at around 30 although I'm sure I forgot someone. So there could still be a similar sized selection.

[Nintendo Partners With Illumination For Mario Movie.]

Nintendo has confirmed it is working on a Mario movie with Illumination Entertainment, the animation studio behind Minions and Despicable Me.

Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto is listed as a co-producer on the film, alongside Illumination boss and Minions creator Chris Meledandri.

There's no word yet on a release date.

It'll probably do well enough with the kids but like most peripherals I feel it'll be under supported, athough this time it does seem like it will be a custom per game solution. At least its not plastic crap.
