Not sure if this is necessary to say here, but this game is a goldmine of cut content, to name a few examples: the cut character moon jumper, the early co-op partner timmy, a scrapped hubworld that consisted of a limbo with 5 doors that led into giant hourglasses, a scrapped tutorial (the tutorial battle was repurposed in the barrel battle), an entire scrapped chapter called sand 'n sails, there's quite a lot of cut content, much more than what i mentioned, some of it dates back to when the game was gonna be a hack 'n slash with paper mario-ish rpg elements
    i'll link all of it here (also features scrapped music from composers that left the dev team early on)

    I thought it'll be nice to show my progress on Sonic Solstice (formerly known as Sonic Reborn) here, the floor pattern was made by Aleks, who was working on the flicky engine, the grass and the palmtrees were edited/made by me, the Level in this mockup is Opal Shore Act 1 (formerly Seaside Valley), act 2 will have the night background again,the game will run on the flicky engine, don't expect a release during this year though!

    here's what happened: sonic interacted with his past self, which changed the past, therefore the timeline split into two seperate universes which possibly created the phantom ruby in the process.

    also here's the current zone order

    -seaside valley
    -shiver winter (a snowy casino city set on a mountian)
    -ruined egg (crashsite of the death egg inside a jungle)
    -twisting treetop (wood zone basically but with chinese/japanese garden theming and a different background)
    -sky sights(a floating city with lots of parks and greenery, don't fall off the buildings, chances are you fall trought the clouds into the ocean!)
    -crimson mountain (a mountain with volcanic activity, act 1 takes place on the mountain itself, sporting a graveyard and hyudoro ghosts, act 2 takes place inside a haunted manor where you run through with a flashlight that you find, the main gimmick of this stage is finding a key to get to the main tower while also avoiding a giant hyudoro ghost from damaging you)
    -dazzling dunes (a desert filled with badnik factories)
    -neonlight cave (an undergound neon refinery inside a grotto owned by dr. robotnik, also the main base of his opperations on northwood island)
    -eggtopia (the capital of northwood island after robotnik took over it, all the ads got replaced with with robotnikland ads)
    -death egg (the game ends here with less than 7 emeralds)
    -uncanny valley (crashsite ruins again but just a short stage as you soon find something when you collected all 7 emeralds)
    -??? (the final battle)

     

  5. This shall be my thread now, as i took over this game
    in the last few years i've been reworking this game to reuse it's beta art style with some new things thrown in, here for example is a mockup of seaside valley act 1 using a mix of it's 2014 beta and 2015 designs
