  1. About what Simon Jeffery (President of SEGA of America) said about Sonic taking a break, he actually said Sonic's "taking a break from the Xbox360 and PS3" (perhaps due to the dire sale of Sonic the Hedgehog 06 no less) but will still be appearing on Nintendo consoles.

Nah you can, I'm just stating its odd because its rarely done in SEGA created Sonic games and that many fangamers never opt for a dark setting for the first level, course you can go ahead and do it! I was just noting how...odd it is XD Or you can make boss attack a secret unlockable and everyone's happy!

Oh riiiiight I was just going to comment that it would be slightly odd to have it as a first level if you went with a much more linear design, but thats only because Sonic games always start somewhere bright, which is why it would look so odd I suppose. Also make sure bosses are replayable, something I hated about Megaman (or maybe it was just Megaman & Bass that allowed replays in levels?) games was that the bosses were never resurrected.

  6. This was what the interview with Mr. Iizuka, someone at TheGHZ forum posted this a while back, so it might just be a rough translation.
  7. Actually part of the team that was meant to be working on Sonic and the Secret Rings was going to be working originally with the team that worked on Sonic the Hedgehog as well. But after the Wii's control system was shown, the port of Sonic the Hedgehog 06 (originally intended for the Wii) was disregarded and certaim team members were reshuffled into the team that begun working for Sonic and the Secret Rings. But after doing further research, there seems to be no sign of a department in SEGA called Sonic Team anymore so yeah, guess I was wrong about that part. I thought the boss level and model looked awesome... But didn't the version of Sonic and the Secret Rings at E3 look lesser then the final product? we can only hope the same applies here. SEGA Studio USA, a team that brought us such hits like Sonic Heroes and the critically universally awesome Shadow the Hedgehog! Directed by Takashi Iikuza, his the one who came up for the idea of adventure fields in Sonic Adventure, designed the stages for Sonic Adventure 2 I believe and directed Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog... He was also the lead designer for the original NiGHTS game.

Oh...dear Anyway, if people want to have a look at the screens from the gamereactor mag, here they are and boy does NiGHTS look terrible...the actual level and boss look rather good though. SCAN 1 SCAN 2 SCAN 3 Although if I remember correctly, Sonic and the Secret Rings didnt look all to excellent at E3 and ended up being a pretty awesome looking game, heres hoping.

  11. Okay if we go by the original Sonic Team, then yes all members have long gone. But in SEGA there is still a core department called Sonic Team, such their other departments like AM2 and New Entertainment. Course the Sonic Team brand is used more often because its the most recognized studio that SEGA have.

I dunno, Sonic Team seem to still contain talent with good games like Sonic and the Secret Rings, Puyo Pop Fever 2, Rub Rabbits and PSU while medicore games like Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog seem to indicate otherwise. Yes I find the fact that SONIC teams bad games are Sonic games slightly odd ...

  15. Well there is the Crest of Wind, helped me complete Night Palace in 3 minutes and 23 seconds. Get it by getting silvers or better in every mission.

Got the game last Friday, Hamleys had Sonic and AiAi patrol the store to celebrate the release of the game in the UK, so I was attacked by those two when I went to collect my copy, good times good times. Anyway after a few good hours at playing it, this has now probably become my second favourite Wii game out there, okay I have only like, Twilight Princess, Money Ball and this, so I know that doesn't mean much XD few controlling issues, but that could just be me tilting the Wii controller a bit too much. The missions don't seem too bad or as frustrating as I thought they'd be (heck, I'm someone who enjoyed getting AAA on Outrun 2006 coast to coast!) I could probably niggle that they should have made the camara go behind Sonic when he started walking backwards (but heck, I just walked passed that, so one should be able to remember, still would have been nice) but overall I've enjoyed the experience, falling somwhere between a 7 or 8 with me, and I'm going back for me!~ I'll probably do a proper review when I can be bothered Also I love the songs Rumblebee did for this game, especially "Unawakening Float" and "It has come to This" ^-^

What constitutes the “best” review? The one that makes a point, supports its score, and defends its opinion the best.   19. Gaming Age Review, final verdict, B+ 1up's 5 paragraph review, final verdict 7.5 Just incase anyone was wanting to check out some reviews beforehand.
  20. EGM's review (no score) complaints: Some challenges are too challenging. Minigames arent really all that great. Greg says doesn't meet hype expectations. Praises: Graphics are beautiful, calling it looking as good as Resident Evil 4. The most fun 3d Sonic to date. The most fun boss battles in ANY Sonic game to date, having a scale to that of Zelda battle "expanding the scope of Sonic's aim" Controls are done well as is the camera.

  22. Due to the game letting Sonic move forward automattically for the most segments, having Super Sonic would be like running the game on auto-pilot, considering most things would be ineffective to him. And the Arabian Palace with the reflective floor is beau-ti-ful.
  23. From what I've seen Scatta, they are there, but most of them I've seen aren't over bottomless pits (if any!) so you could probably chose not to grind on the rails in this one.
  24. Its basically Famitsu giving away 1000 demo copies for SatSR, I'm not sure if this is the final inside look of the final box, but I'd wuv my copy if it is.
