  1. I mean, what's with SEGA's "You can't record video, so turn your camera to the ground" policy?

I dunno, they seem to be touchy on how much info is released to the public, Golden Axe has been in development for about 2 years now and we only have a few pieces of concept art and a short trailer from E3 2006, the games out sometime in Q2 2008, but its still pretty strange for SEGA to be doing this, SEGA Rally Revo, Universe at War, Mario & Sonic and Virtua Fighter 5 (360) all seem to be getting marketing and a bit of information released about them.

In releated news, NiGHTS is apparently delayed until Q1 2008, or as Nightsintodreams.com says, plus some new videos.

  2. seems they've changed the art style of the backgrounds.

Different team working on it this time, though few of the people behind the original are on board for this one too.

One of the games I'll be looking forward to playing, though I really don't think the music itself is Naganuma himself, its good enough to be played through a level though.

  3. SEGA R&D#1 (Also known as SEGA Studio Japan) and SEGA Studio US (Formerly Sonic Team USA, makers of Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog) both make up the Sonic Team department, it is not a "team" but the name of the department itself, such as AM2 is also a department name and is made up of AM2, Hitmaker and SEGA Rosso.

  4. Yes NiGHTS can wear Persona masks that allow him to change into different shapes and such, though in the original NiGHTS such a item was never needed.

Some extra info I picked up about the game, the new characters Will and Helen will play a larger role in the game, more so then their predecessor...

Helen and Will are the two new personalities replacing Eliot and Claris as the humans that transform into the acrobatic Nights, but their role isn’t quite the same as Eliot and Claris’ was. According to a Sega representative, players can control Helen and Will in 3D platforming levels later on in the game, and once players collect blue balls when flying around as Nights, they can use those as projectiles when playing as Helen and Will.

I’m not so sure about this, because I thought, Iizuka and his studio, what with great games like Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, was going to screw over the game hard but was pleasantly surprised (though still a bit cautious, those levels look sooooo barren) but I'll hold out until I've seen a video of the new kids levels.

Also found this trailer of the gameplay video, but with music, now I'm NOT CERTAIN myself if this is the actual music from the game, but it does sound awesome and I really am hoping it is.

  5. Ok, I'll try. Just don't hate for being a newbie. And it's really a "testing the engine" stage. Just give me time, and I'll build a stage. Is anybody interested in knowing how the intros are? I'll post them later in the empty places.

Hello True Blue this is Charmander from SSMB (quiet the rest of you, I have a perfectly valid reason posting there...when I think of it)

Anyway none of the guys hate you for being new, but SFGHQ works more far more differently (and thankfully) then Sonic Stadium's fan creation forum, posting evidence of the games existence is a must and providing info on what you plan to do is also recommended. If you have a intro you think is worth while to show then please post it, this is your game thread after.

Also bear in mind that when you happen to get sharp criticism, take it, analyze it and understand how you can try and make the game better from it, there is no reason doing half a job, always try and finish the job. :)

Now my first bit of critique to you is to first try and make a more unique background, I know the screenshots are engine testing level so I'll let it slide, but if you think you want to try makes new backgrounds (which I think you should try a give a go at!) check this topic from Blue Frenzy its very informative and helpful. Its a plus side in your project to sport some original/customized art for the game

You do seem still seem relatively new to the fangaming scene, so I'll tell you to try and keep things possible or do able from your stand point, do not get carried a way with tones of ideas you want to put into your fangames, that’s the last thing you want to do!

Lastly, make sure you don't hesitate using the help forum we have a SFGHQ in any problems you have, we're never shy to help! (but do not bump the topics, thats bad, bad bad baaad!)

Hope the advice and encouragement did help, I'll be interested in seeing what you can make.

  6. You can usually tell your in for a something good when someone calls there artwork ugly XD

Anyway some excellent stuff here, I love the styles in the first and third picture, quite awesome images those be, and the drawing for all the pictures are overall well done, great job on these!

  7. So far I recall watching these series/movies

    - Bakuretsu Tenshi (Burst Angel)

    - Big O

    - Cowboy Bebop

    - Dragonball GT

    - Fullmetal Alchemist

    - Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa

    - Gundam Wing

    - Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz

    - GunGrave

    - Gun X Sword

    - Outlaw Star

    - Metropolis

    - Samurai Champloo

    - Shaman King

    - Sonic X (Second season)

    - Sprited Away

    - Trigun

    - Wolf's Rain

Out of all those shows, GunGrave and Trigun have to be my favourites, like the character designs (Got to love the work of Yashiro Nightow, designing most the awesome characters in both shows) in both shows and the plot as well as the music are pretty cool. Also enjoy the amount of comedy that they put into Trigun.

Currently watching Coyote Ragtime Show, seems fairly good on the action side of things and has a few nice jokes here and there.
