  1. Yes, it's me again.

If anybody even remembers me, I am honored.

Let's get straight to the point.

    Mobian Face Things

I can't think of any better description. They're like the skit faces from Tales of Symphonia, if anybody ever played that.

    Notes:

    • I've heard that their chins are too pointy. This fits alright with the semi-anime style, so I'll keep it at the possible cost of quality.
    • All characters are stylised. If you've ever read a fanfiction, you'll know that original character design is sometimes completely ignored. Minus the nasty sex, the same applies here.

    Blaze

    Cream

    Cosmo

    Mina

    Rings

    Rouge

    Sonic

    Tails

    Vanilla

    Bonus: Klonoa

  2. EDIT: Insults aside, let me explain myself in a somewhat less derogatory way.

You can tell by looking at his drawing that she's supposed to be of hispanic descent.

I am so tempted to say "No I can't" and get Streak's ego flaring, but I won't. Instead, I will explain to you that this isn't my point at all, and isn't relevant. To support that, I'll need to explain what my point is.

    Streak earlier stated the following:

"... I made her hair brown and her body veluptuous to fit that of a Spanish girl."

Anybody who can read for ____ will tell you that this blatantly infers that any and all Spanish girls are "veluptuous". The part about brown hair is a seperate clause and unrelated. I'm sure that's not actually what Streak meant at all, but that's what he typed.

Now what about Mexicans and their Morph Balls, you ask? Yeah, I'd better explain that right away.

This girl's hips remind me of someone.

Therefore, it shouldn't have been a stretch to make a quick snap about Mexicans and Morph Balls, even if Mexicans do not quite count as Spanish because they're Spanish / Aztec.

I should throw in something likening the Aztecs to the Chozo... but you'll all throw dirty panties at me again.

  3. Checking a region of a grid, for example. For example, some time ago, I used nested loops for loading a Sonic 2 level layout, and the program took at least 10 seconds to run the complete loop (and it's only a 128x128 map).

I see... I tried a grid-related Fastloop once, but I didn't nest it. It was pretty basic though. I should try a level generator and see if I can get it to work without nesting loops.

  4. Its as if in each new game, Everyone got kicked in the head or something and say: "Hey! Its a blue hedgehog!" over and over and over.

I think this is because Sonic is in a new area each time, and in these areas, people have heard of this rumored blue hedgehog but refuse to believe, until he slides down your chimney and eats your chili dogs before leaving ____ty dollar-tree presents and saving the world.

  5. That isn't speed, that is just executing 10,000 opcodes. Speed is doing so and don't drop the framerate up to 14 fps.

... I've never known FastLoop to do any such framerate butchering unless you're being silly and running those fastloops for ten thousand loops *every* loop on an Atari.

  6. You should totally render up an AVI of Sonic fighting this thing

Maybe make it so the goal of the boss is to collect 50 Rings and turn Super, and pass it off as a scene from a new Sonic game

EDIT: My bad, video game recordings are usually MPEG and RealPlayer aren't they?

  7. I don't use GameMaker so often so I'm not aware how it handles backgrounds.

However... can you assign values to a background object?

At the start of the level, set two values to the background object's x and its y respectively

During runtime, set the X to s*a + x, where s is the leftmost pixel visible on the screen and a is a number that determines how fast it will scroll. Experiment to find a good one. X is the value you set to the x at the start of the level.

Vertical scrolling (which in this case you don't want) is similar, except you set Y to the topmost pixel * whatever + y
