  1. Well, it's trying to be incredibly accurate to the vintage games, when we already have a couple hundred fan games that do that. I prefer fan games that being new experiences. For example, even though many Mugen characters are very accurate to the source, it is best to make them fight characters from outside their home games.
  2. I do realize the game has plenty of innovations as is, and well-done graphics.
  3. I did mention a couple others I liked, though. I also like Sonic: Time Attacked.
  4. I do like the LakeFeperd ones, and I apologize for calling yours "generic", realizing the care put into the game.I also like the E-122 Psi hacks, Sonic World, and several others.
  5. Sorry, I was just feeling grumpy and overwhelmed by coding my game, how it was filled with errors.
  6. I'm sorry, but I hate what I see. It seems so generic you might as well turn it into a parody.
  7. Looks really generic. I recommend you switch back to the Banjo-Kazooie approach, then there would at least be something distinct about it.
  8. DJGameFreakTheIguana is making a game called Sonic Revolution, and he says others are open to help him get sprites for more characters to be playable. I would like to use these Blaze sprites for the game.
  9. Yeah, I'll begin making prefabs of the cast tommorow. Will likely end up cutting at least some of the siller or redundant characters like Blonic. The first demo will likely ship with about 20 or so characters. EDIT: Overwhelmed by the sheer amount of code errors so far. It'll take me a while to get all the kinks out.
  10. I'm considering making the playable characters easily editable by making them XML files like the stages are, rather than hard-coded into the engine. This is because I ended up listing a few dozen unneeded characters I kind of regret including (Pinky from that "OMG Most Original Sonic Fanfiction EVER!" parody video? Blonic? Yeth from that crappy Sonic 1 hack?) Maybe I will end up making Super Forms XML files as well? I'm also considering making Badniks, and maybe other objects, XML files, rather than flooding the game with unused nasties. I also found all of the "stage" parser C script was dummied out, so I'm undummying it.
  11. I'd like to use the Blaze sprites in an OpenBOR project called "Sonic Revolution".
  12. It's derived from the Kanohi Miru from Bionicle.
  13. Unfortunately, neither of the Ice games seem to work on modern PCs.
  14. And then people will start waxing nostalagic over bad cartoons. Who, honestly, rembers Touché Turtle or Stone Protectors?
  15. Over the years, I've came up with a ton of fan-made Sonic characters of varying species, gender, alignment, personality, and build. Suffice to say, I am proud of many of them, though some of them... aren't great. First, we will witness my main OC couple: Soak the Seahorse: Age: 17 Species: Pacific Seahorse mobian Height: 3'5'' Weight: 161 Pounds Bipedal: Full Hands: Full Alignment: Good, Likes: Getting massages, Sonic Dislikes: The Drakon Empire, the Metarex, the Khuu (fan-made alien race) Regime Martial Status: Engaged to Musa the Civet Birthplace: Labyrinth Zone Home: A thatched hut on the outskirts of the Mysterious Cat Country Birthday: October 3rd, 3220 Type (Pokémon): Water Attribute (Digimon): Data Family (Digimon): Deep Savers Scale color: Yellow Eye Color: Green Favorite Food: Fajitas Profile: Soak was born to his parents Byron and Pugwash at Labrynth Zone. Soak lived a normal childhood until one day he and his parents decided to move to Mobotropolis. During the takeover of Mobotropolis, Soak was taken from his parents by what he did not know was a Drakon alien. Soak was chosen to serve as a gladiator in their arenas, as they knew of his deadly jets of water. Soak won his way through the ranks and was used as their champion against the Insectra. The Drakons would offer him a slave girl, Musa, as a concubine if he won. Soak defeated the Insectra foe, but only after a long battle. After he won, he witnessed Musa placed on an altar by a Drakon warrior, who then took out a knife. Not understanding in the slightest she was to be a sacrifice, Soak attacked the Drakon guard and saved her life. Musa was shocked and awed at the fact Soak had saved her. The Drakons called him a disgrace and he became a laughing stock amongst the Insectra. Soak was then beamed back to Robotropolis with his new lady-friend. The two were discovered by Sonic, who saved them from the beam of a COMBot unit. Ever since, he's been a dutiful Freedom Fighter, battling through thick and thin. Soak is outgoing, yet self-centered. Musa is more attached to him than he is to her, while Soak, being exothermic, still relies on her for warmth. The two often cuddle, be it just to protect from cold or when they are scared of Eggman's assault. He has a relatively low stomach capacity, and relies on a special apparatus to breathe on land. Combat Abilties: He can squirt jets of water at high pressure, and is armed with a spear. His tail also serves as a weapon. Attire: He wears shoes and gloves like the other males, and the tip of his tail is wrapped in belts. Theme Song: "With the Will" by Koji Wada Musa the Civet Age: 17 Species: African palm civet Mobian Height: 3' 5'' Weight: 125 pounds Birthdate: November 7th, 3220 Alignment: Good Likes: Being tickled, target practice, Sonic Dislikes: Tacky sweaters, getting cords tangled, flatulence, the Khuu Regime Occupation: Bounty hunter (formerly), slave (formerly), Freedom Fighter (on and off) Fur Color: Light Gray Hair Color: Brown, naturally, but she dyes it green Eye Color: watery blue Birthplace: Adabat Home: Mysterious Cat Country Favorite Food: Ratatouille Profile: Musa was born to her parents Patrick and Brenda in Adabat. She was enlisted into a bounty hunter service as she loved hunting animals with her teeth and claws. She got herself a pistol from her grandfather Carl. She worked together with Sleet, but Sleet betrayed her and sold her out to a group of Drakons, who kept her as a slave girl. There, Musa met another slave girl, named Gemini. The two developed a close bond and tried to find freedom. However, Gemni was sent to the action block and Musa was picked as the sacrifice for the champion gladiator in a match between two empires. Soak, not knowing she was a sacrifice, rescued her. The two wound up in Mobotropolis and were discovered by Sonic, whom saved them from a COMBot. Gemni was eventually discovered being sold by Kid Cruel, and Vector bought her freedom for 1,309 Mobiums (in other words, rings). Musa is quite ticklish. She enjoys the heat of battle more than anything else and can basically be described as the opposite of Soak. She also has a sister named Nymph, who disappeared long ago. Combat abilities: As said above, she wields a pistol in combat. She can also increase her size to attack. Attire: She wears short shorts and a t-shirt with a tank top over it. Her shoes are green with white tops. Her socks are pink. She's also got belts wrapped around her tail, in order to emphasize her thirst for freedom. Theme song: "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry. Do you like these characters? And now, we see Soak meeting with one of the more" famous" Sonic FC's out there, in glorious watercolor!
  16. http://theautisticonenamedm.deviantart.com/ Be forewarned; it contains some rather... concerning artwork.
  17. Currently, I'm editing the "Stage" script in neoshaman's BlitzSonic port into Unity so it can actually run better. When i'm finished with it, I'll give it to you.
  18. Well, it's repulsed because it has lasted for so long compared to other shows out there.
  19. According to Teletoon's 2014/2015 lineups, Johnny Test is officially cancelled. Good riddance. First, the show managed to make it to the U.S. showcasing its stiff animation and annoying sounds and voices to Cartoon Network, eventually taking over. Second, it outlived many good shows, like Thundercats, Sym-Bionic Titan, Young Justice, Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated, and Green Lantern. And Third, it stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of CN's modern lineup.
  20. Will there be a method for this game to read your old BlitzSonic stages and play them in the new engine? I don't want my collection to go to waste.
  21. Have any Sonic games have rhyming level names? Or palindromes?
  22. I got Sonic Nebulous a while back, and after beating the first act of the Great Forest, the game would end up crashing. Could someone help me? The game isn't that old.
  23. Just downloaded the Sonic 1 hack Yeth, and was SOOOO dissapointed in it.

  24. Alright, note taken. I'll change this up. EDIT: It's a lot of hard work to code a bunch of XML files to interpret the levels and such. Also, it turns out the playable characters and their moves are not determined by an XML file, rather, by a code within Sonic World itself. The BlitzSonic Unity code I am currently working with is based on the original BlitzSonic, so I might have to edit it manually, but I am likely to reverse-engineer Sonic World (or ask for source code from the dev team) to obtain some more bits of code for the characters. Also, enemies are also not determined by an XML file. I'm also collecting as many BlitzSonic stages as possible because the engine is not capable of freely loading XML files for stages, and they have to be added before the game is published. EDIT: Almost all the code in the "stage" file seems to be dummied out. However, when I play the tech demo that neoshaman made, it works just fine, even though the code appears exactly the same.
