  2. In case you didn't notice, these games are now on sale for 1$ each, along with sonic 4 episode I and II, and some other SEGA games on mobile. So if you ever want to get these, now is your chance
  3. MMF2 and Construct are, in my opinion, good tools for beginners, but if you want to make something more "complicated", these game engines won't work most of the time. Game Maker can make more complicated stuff because of its more powerful programming language, but it still has its limits. If you really want to make something complicated (or 3D, in which all 3 game engines I mentioned aren't good for), go for a professional programming language like C# or C++. Unity3D and Unity2D are good game engines for this, but you can also use something like Love2D which adds certain functions to the language Lua, to make creating games easier. I'm still new to this community, but as far as I've seen, most people here tend to use MMF2 or Construct, which is the exactly opposite of the forum I'm used to, Mario Fan Games Galaxy, in which most people tend to use Game Maker. I think it has to do with the engines available. While there are a lot of good Sonic engines for MMF2 or Construct, including Sonic Worlds, there are barely any for Game Maker. For Mario fangamers, this isn't a problem, because most are making their own engines from scratch, probably because Mario games are generally easier to code than Sonic games. There are Mario "fangamers", however, which do use a pre-made engine. Most of the time this is the overused Hello Engine, which I shouldn't talk about here ._. Anyway, to get back on-topic: for most of the people here, MMF2 or Construct is probably your best bet, unless you want to make your own engine from scratch (which I'm doing), then Game Maker would fit just as well, if not better. I don't necessarily prefer one over another, but to me, Game Maker fits the best, but that's probably because I'm used to its editor (which is in no way hard to understand, you just need to get used to it, and maybe read some tutorials).
  4. This project looks really promising, you've done it again LakeFeperd. TBH, in my opinion, this looks even better than ATS. Though, if you want to go for a fast-paced platformer, I suggest turning up the maximum speed, and slightly decrease the accelerating. I'm not sure if you want this, however, so if not, just ignore this. I love the graphics, they look very polished. Especially the tilesets and backgrounds look very good to me. Some states of Spark look a little stiff, but it's only a minor problem, the sprite still looks good as it is now. Also, those robot enemies look like mice, is that intended? Unfortunately, I'm not using my voice in videos, so I can't help you out. My youtube channel isn't that popular anyway, so you're better off looking for someone else, I think. I can't wait to try this game when it's released, even if it's just a demo! I enjoyed watching the video a lot. One last question btw: when it's finished, will it be free to download or will you charge money for it? I have nothing against the latter btw, you totally deserve to get some money for all the work you've put in this project.
  5. Heya all, I'm WreckingPrograms, also known as WreckingGoomba, also known as djemiegoomba. I'm 15 years old and live in the Netherlands. I decided to join because, while I love Sonic, I never joined a Sonic board before, for some reason. So I thought, why not? Like I stated above, and like everyone here does, I love Sonic, especially the good old Genesis games, of which Sonic 3 and Knuckles is my favourite. I also like Sonic Heroes and Sonic 4 Episode I (dont ask me why xD). I've always been a Mario fan, and I still am, but until recently I didn't really found Sonic too special to me, it was fun to play, but I preferred Mario. A few months ago, however, I tried out the Genesis games again (with Sonic Mega Collection), and found out I'd forgotten how fun fast-paced platforming can be. Since then, I've replayed a lot of Sonic games, and although I still like Mario, Sonic won it for me. I like making games using Game Maker, and I've been using it for 3 and a half years now. Because I didn't like Sonic too much until recently, I've made Mario fangames only. I'm still working on one called Super Mario & The Elemental Orbs. However, I wanted to do something new, because I've always made Mario platformers and I just felt like doing something else as a side project (which later turned out to be a project I'm spending more time on than SMEO). That's why I decided to make an indie (independent) game. I didn't know what genre though, and I experimented with a few genres, like a Minecraft-like sandbox game (Build Infinity) and a platformer in which you could change the tilesets/backgrounds/enemies to have different environments (Environ). However, those didn't really fit my needs, because I didn't enjoy making them too much. That was, until I played the Genesis games again. I enjoyed them so much, that I decided to make an indie game based on them: a high-speed platformer indie game. I know there are already some in progress like Freedom Planet and Spark the Electric Jester, but it's the same with other genres, so I thought it wouldn't matter. The progress is going pretty well for the 3 months I've been working on it now. I'm not gonna show it yet, however, I want to complete the first level along with a lot of objects that still need to be made, then I'll show it to you guys. Some of you may know a forum called MFGG (Mario Fan Games Galaxy), I'm called WreckingGoomba there. It's the site I've been active on for like 2 years now, and as the name already suggests, it's a site about Mario fangames, but indie games are allowed, too. But the community there doesn't have a lot of experience with high-speed platforming, so I barely got useful feedback when I showed them an alpha of my indie. That's another reason why I joined this forum: I want feedback for my game, so I can make it as good as possible. I also have my own forum, http://wgfangaming.jaxboards.com/'>http://wgfangaming.jaxboards.com/, where you can contact me if you'd like, but of course, you can also contact me through this forum. I have no idea why anyone here would contact me though, but yeah, just in case. Anyway, long story short: I'm a new member who like making games, especially high-speed platformers. I currently have one in development, but I'm not gonna showcase it yet. I joined this forum because of the obvious reason: I like Sonic, but I also joined to get some feedback on my indie game when it's showcased. So I guessed that's all, sorry for the long post
