  1. Well, first of all thanks for the replies

It's good to know my huge pictures haven't made too much damage and that there is no limit in picture size here. Also I'm glad that all of you were so nice to me. For now I'll make the future pictures now in this "1/4 size" size. Also bumb is going to come in the near future. But I'm still concerned because nobody and I mean NOBODY has given me his/her opinion of the layouts and ideas.

  2. Sorry for the HUGE pics, I'd didn't know the standarts of this forum and scalin' them down would kill the quality, but who the hell still cares for quality in gaming, isn't it?

Right now I'm resizing the pics to be olny a quarter as large as before, hopefully that's enough.
Edit: Updated the pics, now smaller and with lower quality (the same as today's gaming)

Also: @Serephim Don't you mean over 9000ppi? Actually it's "just" 600ppi, a quarter of my usual scanning size.

  3. Zone 9: Speed City

    lqpgvx69.gif

A long, once linear and fast city with the most uncreative name I could come up with. It has buildings and cranes and roads and... I don't know. I have nothing more to say.

    Zone 10: Burning City

    piRBh9X.gif

Robotnik's first test of the Egg-Laser and it was a sucsess! The entire Speed City is now burning down to ashes! Also, this Zone is Sonic's first meeting with a new foe!

    Zone 11: Egg Inc. Zone

    IZJHZRY.gif

Just because Robotnik is evil doesn't it mean he's disallowed to have a legal buisness. He has his own industrial district in speed city filled with a lot of freshly made new robot prototypes.

    Zone 12: Computed Chaos Zone

    l2y4dDd.gif

Robotnik's supercomputer filled with viruses, hoaxes, deadly traps and cat pictures...

    Zone 13: Hill Act 1

    jsGFWag.gif

    Ready for Round 2?

    Zone 14: Dead Egg Zone

    I602EQU.gif

In S3&K the Death Egg crashed. Here it landed but all electricity is shut. Can Sonic escape this metallic prision again?

    Zone 15: Forgotten Gimmicks

    a8BJFFQ.gif

Forgotten Gimmicks, that says it all! This zone is filled with the most forgotten gimmicks from Sonic 1, Sonic CD and the 8-Bit subseries...

    Zone 16: Roblimbnik Act 2

Roblimbnik Zone again? Yes, after having his plane destroyed in Act 1, Sonic decides it would be best if he just tried charging at the killer-blimb again...

    Zone 17: Start-Up Zone

    Okm0bZ6.gif

"All passengers on the uncreative-name-train, please exit now, we've reached our final destination". It's a short Launch Base Zone-wannabe.

    Zone 18: Egg Missle Zone

    7zkb1ds.gif

Another one of these? Actually this is the real Egg Missle in it's original size. Filled with the largest robot suit Robotnik could fit onto this little piece of scrap-metal.

Zone 19: Extremly Generic (Something with G) Zone.

    Pk2QWbY.gif

Once owned by Dr. Albert Wily this (used) space station features last seasons brand new Megaman-styled badniks and traps. Oh, and also there Robotnik on it...

  4. Jnk8jA3.pngThe project is now named: "Sonic 4: Episode ME" !

Storyline concept: After his defeat in the Death Egg MK.II Dr. Robotnik realized his big mistake. He was using an unmobile, huge, slow space station. Now he finally build his greates Station yet. The small but fast Egg Missle is home to his newest Weapon of Mass Destruction: The Egg Laser. To power the Laser Robotnik uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Their power he transmitted into his Mecha Emarald, a robotic copy of the Master Emerald. In order to finally take over the world, Robotnik fled to the Northern Island, an island Sonic has never been to. Sonic arrives half a year after Robotnik, who was almost finished with setting up his great skemes and traps.

The game is supposed to be a spiritual successor to Sonic 4 and is set on a different island than any of the games before. I called this island Northern Island.

    8JsQD33.gif

This island is home to 18 Zones, that I'll list here.

Zone 1: Egg Missle XS Zone

    F8mJanz.gif

The game begins with: the final battle on Robotnik's Missle? But something ain't quite right with the ol' Doc...

    Zone 2: Roblimbnik Act 1

    AherAmV.gif

This is his flying fortress of the week, equiped with his personal jet, a laser and chicken-artillery.

    Zone 3: Leaf Plains Zone

    xoMh38o.gif

What would be a Sonic game without a Green-HIll type of level. It's pretty basic, nothing to hard, even the number of death-pits is balanced (yes, only for YOU). It also introduces the "3D-Ramp" from Sonic CD which I used a lot in these layouts.

    Zone 4: Dusty Desert Zone

    Xn3lkxw.gif

All abort the uncreative-name train, this'll be a long ride... A simble Wild West based stage. Mostly created to pay homage to both Dust Hill and Desert Dazzle while including elements of Sunset Park.

    Zone 5: Tidal Ruins Zone

    L3P2ThX.gif

The water zone... Based of Aquatic Ruins with a small dose of Water Palace. Everything is round up with a bit of Castlevania: Bloodlines Stage 2 "Atlantis Shrine".

    Zone 6: Volcanic Mines Zone

    3RqJcDn.gif

Imagine Underground Zone, Mystic Cave Zone, Lava Reef Zone Act 1 and Endless Mine Zone in one. This here basiclly comes out.

    Zone 7: Bright Night Zone

    n8OOAfq.gif

Casino Night had the golden design, Casino Paradise the purple one. Casino Night in the beta was pink. I don't know which of the colors I'm going for, but it's still going to be a fully fleged out Casino/Carneval Zone.

    Zone 8: Frozen Shocked

    X85TmnS.gif

Before burning down Speed City, Robotnik wanted to test his old climate changing Mashine from Mushroom Hill. It apperently works.

So tell me what you think and if you'd like to help me creating a game out of these ideas. I'd need a composer and a scipter for SonicWorldsDelta >1.2

If nobody's gonna help, I'll still keep on working with SW0.5 and make more ideas.

    Edit1-4: Something uninteresting...

Edit5: Huge update will be a month or so later than planned... Don't look at me, I'm not happy either...

Edit6: Instead of layouts, there are now (sometimes) animated pictures...

  5. Hello folks,

I've wanted to share an idea with you. Similar to the "Top 5 games" threat here I wanted to make a list of my personal top 5 of level themes in the Sonic the Hedgehog games. But without real rules! Please use "http://info.sonicretro.org/Level_themes" as a list of all level themes, but you may also tell others IF you can tell arguements why this level theme is not part of the info.sonicretro.org list.

    Let's begin

#5: Green Hill theme/tropical island cliché

What would be a Sonic game without one of these, they are fun easy and always bring you into the spirit of Sonic games. Many people dislike their position as the first Zone of a game but I think this is great because you can easily stack up on lives and continiues. Notable Zones in this theme include: the ORIGINAL Green Hill, Palmtree Panic, Sunset Hill, Leaf Forest and Green HIll.

    #4: Flying fortress theme

A great theme, sadly a rare one too. I love to call these level "Flying Fucks", just cause I can. These levels mostly appear late in the game and are rather difficult, but still fun. Just the idea of a giant flying military station is already interesting. Notable Zones in this theme include: F*ckin' Battery from S&K, Wing F*ckfest from S2 and Sky B*tch from S1(8-Bit). (yes I usually refer these Zone with these names, deal with it!)

    #3: Urban theme

I always loved the city levels. They were huge, had so much going on and were, unlike other levels, mostly rational. Their speed and simple platforming made those levels extreme fun 'cause they really showcased what Sonic was about, speed and platfoming. Generally these levels were more easy than difficult, but fun was still havable. Notable Zones in this theme include: Route 99, Gigalopolis, Star Light and Stardust Speedway

    #2: Casino/carnival theme

The music in the zones is great, the level design is god-like and the overall atmosphere is rather slow paced. But still this theme features lots and lots of gimmicks, most of them are fun and lots of ways to spend too much time in these Zones. Considering they are not that hard, it's still a good place to farm lives and continues. Notable Zones in this theme include: Casino Night, carnival Night, Cosmic Casino, Casino Paradise and Toy Kingdom.

    #1: Industrial theme

Robotnik is evil, right? Robotnik builds robots, right? To build robots you need you nee da factory, right? Robotnik has HUGE factories and I love them! They are most of the time difficult, sometimes even cheap but still, seeing what the ol' Doc can build up, it is simply fascinating. Notable Zones in this theme include: Metropolis, Scrap Brain, Metalic Madness, Secret Base and Wacky Workbench.

This is my o(pi)nion, tell me yours by answering to this topic and have fun!

  6. Since I am a douche who wants attention... Why shouldn't I post my o(pi)nion to and yell at everybody who doesn't agree to me... But humor aside, heres my list:

#5. Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (Sony PS2)

It may seem odd that I am a fan of this show, but I LOVED it. As much as I loved the show I love this game. It's huge world containing lots and lots of references to the show (e.g. the candy bar bus scene in "Rock Bottom" or Sand Mountain). It's characters represent the spirit of the show perfect and the original voice actors sound great. All in all, I like it and everybody should check it out at least once.

#4. Contra Hard Corps (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis)

You know the drill, kill them all while shooting your gun in 8 directions. But this Contra is different. First of all, the game has a STORY! in which you can choose the outcoming. Also there are more levels than ever before, 16 in total to be exact. There are more (35 in total) and larger bosses than in any Contra before. The music is god-like and the visuals contain more than anybody would expect from the Genesis (effects contain even Sprite-rotation, something the SNES could NOT handle). Generally the game is way more fast-paced and rad than the other Contra games and it has still a special place in my heart.

#3. Virtua Racing (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis)

Actually this isn't that great of a game but I'm still putting this on the list because of memories. Me and my friends and siblings has SO much fun playing is back in the day and even today we play this game when we meet. Also it's very interessting because of the SVP in it.

#2. Megaman: The Wily Wars/ Rockman: Mega World (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis)

I love the Genesis, I love Rockman. It's both in one and I LOVE IT! It's basicly Rockman 1, 2 and 3 in one cartridge. Take out the passwords, put a battery in and create a Genesis-exlusive episode containing all of the gimmics of these games, include it and you got this game. It's features all that was great in the three first Rockman titles and updates it with Genesis grafics and music. Also unlike Rockman 7 this game conatins the "old" classic-Rockman design what is notable, considering Rockman 8 promos already established the Rockman 7 styled classic-Rockman design.

#1.  Sonic CD and S3&K (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Sega CD/Mega CD)

Actually this would be cheating but I couldn't decide which one is better. S3&K has great visuals, lots of creative levels and incredible music.

SonicCD on the other hand has too great music (I was lucky to live in Europe), incredible visuals and innovative bosses. Also the time travelling idea showcases so many different art styles in this one game. A large number of very nice gimmics are present in all over the game and i love them.

If you really want me to choose then I'd pick SCD. It's music and level design is (in my opinion) greater than anything before.

Other games I love but I couldn't fit on this list are: the GTA series (especially from 3 to VCS), Street Fighter 2:SCE, Zero Tolerance, Gran Turismo series (especially 3, Concept and 4) and the Streets of Rage/ Bare Knuckle series.

  7. Well tried it, loaded it up, started it and it told me I'd need add-ons (or so). Tried to load them, but now MMF2 seems to be failin' 'cause the add-on installer keeps telling me I'd need the "real" version of MMF2, though I already have bought it. Maybe this is a problem of Clickteams side beause they updated from MMF to CF. Maybe? Seems like I'm stuck with Worlds 0.5...

  8. Hello, first of all, I seem to have an Problem nobody seemed to have before me.

I was making my first Sonic fan game level and while testing it there were 3 problems.

    1. The water level was to high and the water was invisible.

I could lower the water level but the water still is invisible.

    2. The Tiles I used as platforms aren't massive at all (instead of massive at the top).

    3. Sonic and Tails can jump extremely high, make a Bumper sound while jumping and are in a permanent rolling mode, I'm not being able to control them, they move right at a set speed.

Maybe someone, who is knowing Sonic Worlds a lot could help me. The .mfa and the .001 files can be downloaded here:

I hope anybody could help, any help is apreciated (is it spelt that way?).
    Thanks.
